  1. 4 years ago I started a bucket list Quest. It was to drive through and eat ice cream in all the lower 48 states. I finished it two weeks ago and wanted to thank every insightful poster on the forum. I've learned tire pressure, battery life, clutch replacement, locations to visit, even how to keep my butt from getting sore,,,,,,,,and so,so much more. Thanks to all of you, especially Freebird for keeping this place going. 3d And yep thats a pin for every state and a few extra for places you have recommended I visit along the way.

  3. So, I've learned what to pack and how to pack from the great posts on this site, but the better half is still looking for a little more area. On one of my rides I saw a HD with a small strap on piece of luggage that hooked to the saddlebag rails. It was about a 16x6X4 high. I thought it might be a nice place to put glasses, gloves, sun tan lotion and such. Any body seen such a thing, or know where to find it?:think:
  4. OK, so we all know that if Moma ain't happy, no one is. With that in mind' The better half and I are going to be taking a trip to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas in May. (22-29) The plan is for me to drive out from Ohio, meet her at the airport, (She is giving me some free time), then spend a week camping the Canyon, drive back to Vegas, put her on a plane and then for me to beat-feet back to Ohio. Problem, The need for "STUFF", exceeds my ability to carry on the bike. I know I could find a trailer here in OHio and lug it out there, but what I'd really like to do is drive free from the thing out, rent one while I'm there and then drive free back. Any Idea's about where to find one to rent would be appricated.

  10. Nice lights. I'm heading out to the garage to see how to mount the lights on the RSV license plate right now. Thank Freebird for the info
  11. Kit, They look and sound great. Could you post some picks and comments when you get them on the Scoot. Thanks
  12. Didn't to go deer hunting this year, so this really helped. 475s score
  13. Yet again, I am ammased at all the feedback and assistance I get from everyone. The last post is on a Tent that I am favoring. Here is a tent that apparently is made in the same factory but a bit cheaper. http://www.alpsmountaineering.com/ALPSMountaineeringTaurus.htm Thanks again for all the feedback. BTW: Cowpuc, You got the right idea,,,,, Ride, not sleep
  14. The gremlens where running out of the house last night as I walked in. Great looking bell
  15. OK, so we've got freezing rain outside today and I'm working on a couple summer tour camping trips. These trips will be about a week to 10 days in length and we like staying in State camp grounds (Better half likes the hot Showers and clean restrooms). Anyway, my 2 man timberline backpacker tent is on its last leg and to be honest, its getting a little tight with all the necessities we/she likes to bring along. So, here is the question: "What advise can you all give me on tents that are compact for strapping on and roomie at the same time.
  16. Thanks Midnight, I appriciate it. I'll go see what I can find at the junk store.
  17. MightnightVenture, It would be really nice for us less inclined to see some pic's, spec's/ parts list.
  18. I want to give everyone a heads up. First of all, "if its to good to be true, it probably is." Someday I'll learn. My wife and I have been looking for a set of blue scorpion EXO-400 helmets. I found them at Extreme Supply for $90.00, regularly 129.00 to 139.00 depending. ( http://www.extremesupply.com/index.htm ) Yea, right... Ordered them Saturday evening. entered all the appropriate personnel info, plus of course credit card info. Got a Thanks for the order, along with confirmation number. Happy me. Monday evening I recived a we are sorry, but we just sold out email. That would have been OK, however they tried to up sell me to a more expensive helmet, even that would have been OK, but, I just check this evening (5 days latter) and they are still posting the same deal. This would indicate to me that they are trying to get others to buy something, that they don't have, so they can try to sell them something more expensive. I realize I'm whinning, but, we need to treat Web merchants just like local merchants, if they don't live up to their advertisements, we need to let everyone know, WE ARE MAD AS HECK!, AND WE AIN'T GOING TO TAKE IT, WITH OUT LETING EVERYONE KNOW. 3d
  19. Ordered mine, Side benifit: Figured out how to use PayPal
  20. Has anyone painted their helmets to match their bikes? I don't want flames, or graphics, just simply matching my 07 blue. What type/make of paint, and special insights would be greatly appriciated 3d
  21. I am fairly new to the club and just got back into touring bikes, so bear with me. I'm driving the 07 black & blue, love it, but want to use a hand held mic and the external speakers for CB communication. Does anyone know how to wire the mic into the 2gen 5pin intercom? I realize I am opening myself up to the safety comments. But I have seen that some have either bought one or made them up. I've read all the threads and looked at the diagrams posted, but just can't figure it out. How about a simple diagram, or web site to buy one from.
  22. That was amazing. I've watched the big boys on parade before and they were sweating just ridin in line. This guys is really good.
