I got a pair of Walker's on sale at Cabela's. Usually around Cd$120, but often on sale around half that! Will be cheaper down there! Only used them a few times at the range but I found them excellent. My hearing isn't brilliant anyway but I can hold a normal conversation, they have a volume control to amplify speech but they really attenuate any loud/ sudden firearm noises. I do find them a little tight after a while, but I guess they have to be to seal around the ears. https://www.cabelas.ca/product/82262/walkers-game-ear-ultimate-alpha-muff FWIW & For the price I highly recommend them.

So how do you like it? Accurate? What made you get that particular model as opposed to other similar ones by other manufacturers? Make? Reputation? Hope it provides you with many hours of enjoyment

I'd never heard of the stuff 'till you guys on here were extolling its virtues. So I tried it in my 34 year old chainsaw, (that never ran very well), it now runs much better! I now have Seafoam in my bikes, snowblower & other "lawn & yard machinery". I think I paid around Cd$12 for my last can. Plus of course an environmental levy! Thanks for the education!

I've been sizing you up!! Pretty cool site for doing exactly that!!

Kewl! :banana:Don't you listen to the nay-sayers Puc. They just don't understand your intellect! Without you this site wouldn't be so interesting. Keep up the good works. -
You could also try a general purpose gun oil. Also very thin (but not like WD40), usually comes in some sort of spray can, often with a plastic extension nozzle for getting onto those awkward places. Also available at Canadian Tire in the Sporting goods section.

on your Grandson! Hope you get to spend many happy hours with him! Also on giving up the weed, I gave up some 20 years ago, still miss 'em occasionally but stick to it! Well worth it in the long run. -
Looking for opinion

It says both have "good running engines, just need carbs cleaned" so maybe they can be started to get onto trailer but not suitable for on road? -
I feel for you! It was forecast to start here around noon, instead it started around 8am & has been coming down like crazy ever since. we are at a higher elevation too, so we tend to get a lot more than you guys lower down. 2pm & Currently around it's around 3" when I went out earlier it was -4C (25F) so it's going to stick around too.

What a fabulous restoration! A true Phoenix! Congratulations ... Just shows what can be done with a little (or maybe a lot) of hard work & dedication! PS I love that Corbin seat. (for Looks, not sure what it's like to ride on)

Ya! But then we have to go out & compete for road space with all those bloody cage drivers!

Some will not like this but I mowed the grass today.
Kretz replied to Sylvester's topic in Watering Hole
Probably would have mowed mine too.... If I could see it!!! Instead I took the snow blower for a walk! Had 4" or so last night, today it's blowing up a gale & the stuff is blowing everywhere. Due to stay cold for the next week or so, so the snow is going to stick around. Problem is it means I can't get any yard work done clearing up the damage from the last lot of snow & ice storm! -
Hey Don, I'm sure you'll know anyway but, Check the tarp sizes very carefully. I know that up here many are quoted as a "nominal size" (eg a 5' x 7' tarp that actually measure 4'-6" x 6'-6") It usually does give you an exact dimension somewhere on the bag. Good luck with the project.

Not sure the corrugated plastic sheeting would bend to fit that roof shape. Those sheets will bend easily along their length but not across their width. That's the idea of making them corrugated so they're pretty rigid in on direction.

No I don't see pics or links on the original post either. maybe cause it goes back to 2012.

I know a resurrected thread right?.. but we were out recently & saw these guys. Not THAT unusual around here, they are often scavenging on the local salmon. Just thought you may like to see Sorry for the quality, I had to use my phone handheld on full zoom.

My 2009 RSTD does, so I assume the Venture will have too.

Kretz replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole

So Puc was that bike amazing or was it .... amazing I wasn't sure what you guys thought of it! :crackup:LOL (Sorry couldn't resist!) Thanks for the video, kewl! Not to my taste either but those Harleys are nice looking bikes... I'd try one! But couldn't afford one! ".....The biker gang whirred into town", just doesn't sound right does it?

Congratulations on your decision! :happy65:I worked self employed (contract) all my working life. I had a very varied career working for some of the largest contracting companies in the world. British, European & US & retired at 53. Sure working for yourself can be a bit scary, especially when work is thin on the ground, but if you're good at what you do & willing to work you'll be OK. I could yammer on but I won't... just know you've made the right decision & get on with it! btw it's not "Acorn" Stair lift is it? Now as was said earlier... Get Back to work & stop slacking off! Have Fun! One thing... make sure you calculate & put away your taxes & such, I saw so many guys' lives ruined by trying to dodge the tax man!

Just be thankful that you didn't have to buy your new fridge from Boeing!... over $23 million for two new fridges on Air Force One! ($23,657,671 to be exact!)... but they will have undergone testing by Boeing & the FAA!!

The last few weeks we've had a lot of tree damage caused by ice storms & wind. Trees bent double, broken, uprooted. We have thought of getting a chipper/ shredder on a number of occasions in the past. Enquired today at local hire shops about renting one $240 -$300 per day! (Plus delivery charge) really those bigger models are overkill (6" -9") for what we want (& at the moment every man & his dog are looking to rent them) so there is a huge waiting list. I've measured some of our lumber & the max seems to be around 2.1/2" daim. with most being a lot less I'm considering buying something like this: https://www.championpowerequipment.com/product/100137-3-in-chipper-shredder/ I know it's only small 3" capacity, but it would seem to cover the majority of branches etc that we have, (bigger stuff would be logged for a friends wood stove) It comes in at around $1000 & it does appear to get very good reviews on line. Only thing I don't care for is the low level discharge. Just wondered if anyone here had one of these & your thoughts. I have looked at others (DR being one) but they are dedicated chippers (no shredding) & cost a LOT more. This one really does seem to fit the bill.
