  1. Really? How crazy can the system get. (I guess it is California though). They want a sticker that says it complied with emissions regs in 1984??? 34 YEARS AGO!!! FFS, Of course everything on the bike will still be in pristine, new condition so all those settings will still be the same as they were in 1984! What a crock. I despair at the stupidity of gov't sometimes (well, most of the time actually!) Could someone loan you the requisite side cover with sticker & you return it to them once registration is complete.
  2. What no backhoe!? LOL (Just kidding Don) That is one nice looking little tractor! Hope it serves you well. Sorry for the loss of your BIL.
  3. I can't see the pics so I let Freebird know, then I saw it was an resurrected post from long ago.
  4. One of our local Vancouver PD's does an annual "skills test challenge" take your bike along & they have cone courses set out, just the same as they use for training. Very similar to the courses in those videos. (sadly no cross country, sand traps etc) They offer riding tips & tricks, & it's a great way to meet the motormen LEO's & talk with them about not only skills but also the problems we (& they) encounter on the roads. Many of them have a huge sense of humour! The day is a lot of fun & great for learning obstacle & slow (& sometimes not so slow) riding skills. The first year I attended, two of the guys were demoing, lost concentration (a moment's indecision) & ended up colliding with each other. No-one hurt but good to see that even the pro's screw up occasionally. I guess the short sleeves encourages them not to fall off! LOL
  5. Whatever you do Don't get a Samsung! We got an upright, twin door, lower freezer compartment model 4 years ago. We've had so much trouble with it. (the icemaker/ dispenser freezes up solid) repairman out 5 times, icemaker replaced twice, tells us "oh! Yea! this is a bad design, always have trouble with it. Didn't tell us that when we bought it did ya???!!! Oh no! it was the greatest!... twin cooling compressors... blah! blah! just so much BS.
  6. I noticed that he said it's a 2 stroke! Just wondering if the oil injected with the gas or does it have to be mixed in with it? (Cause that would be a PITA!) Also I always thought 2 strokes were a lot worse pollution wise (vs 4 stroke). It may be that due to the higher temps he mentioned that the oil is more completely burned?
  7. Ya! Well on tropical, balmy Republic of Vancouver Island it may be OK but for sure no-one is riding around here!
  8. Not sure what the temp is here but we've had freezing drizzle/ rain all day today! No way any bikes will be out around here
  9. Nice pics but you can keep it on that side of the country where it belongs. We've had all we need or want of that white stuff in BC for this year thank you!
  10. Never been on FB, Twitter or any of those "social" sites, never really felt the need, BUT.... Our local m/c riding group used to post their rides etc on a "Meetup" Site, "Meetup" have recently changed their format (& their charges keep increasing) & the new format is quite frankly bloody awful. Change for no apparent reason & definitely not more "user friendly!" No doubt some web whizz is sat patting himself on the back for a job well done in his opinion! So, our group organizer has decided (& I do support his decision) to drop "Meetup" completely (along with their fees) & only publish our rides, photos etc on the group's FB page. So I now have to either join FB (which I really don't want to do), miss out on some of the rides & information or rely on friends telling me when the rides are.
  11. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our readers. Good health, good luck & hopefully a little prosperity in 2018. Take Care out there & all the very best to you all
  12. Thought I'd post a couple of pics from BC :cold: Not a lot of snow around here but we have had about 6" or so then freezing rain. We have trees down, trees bent double, power outages unbelievable the damage that's been done . the hedge above is now almost flat & will not recover I fear!
  13. I think other countries & cultures can be tolerant of "foreign" customs or religions. BUT I don't see any of them saying they shouldn't celebrate (or should tone down) their OWN religion or customs for fear of "offending the foreign contingent". & let's face it I think it's only Western style, predominantly Christian countries that have these huge influxes of immigrants from other cultures. You don't see those influxes in eastern, communist etc countries. I'm pretty sure it's only Western cultures that have this ridiculous political correctness, brought to us mostly by liberal (leftist) politicians.
  14. This is the winter solstice! BUT, that means from now on, a bit more daylight each day.... soooo, it's now all downhill from here to next riding season!! Merry Christmas everyone! However I may have to wait a while, this is my backyard taken yesterday:

    Canada

Hey! Welcome & Merry Christmas from a next door neighbour!
  16. Wooo Hooo! , Congratulations, glad it all worked out for you!. Lets hope the citizenship application is smooth sailing. btw do keep any & all paperwork, associated with these applications, cause later on when you come to apply for pensions etc you will need names, dates & places (yet again) DAMHIKT! (I have a file that is 2" thick with all that crap, & I get asked for the same information time & time again (from TWO Governments, not just one!) Enjoy your Christmas!
  17. How much? Just as a preventative when the bike stands for extended periods (like over winter) Gas in not that old (tank filled end of October) but it is "ethanol gas" I treat my gas with an "anti-ethanol" additive. (the red stuff) before putting it in the bikes, & I do try to run the bikes every 3-4 weeks (start, warm up for 20min or so) Just wondered if I should also add Seafoam to the gas tank, if so how much? I don't want to overdo it, but there no dosage indication on the can. Any advice? Sorry I know this questions been asked before but mostly by people who are already having carb problems. I'm not.... just looking to preempt any! Thanks!
  18. I was just wondering the same a few nights ago. Sorry to hear the recent surgery took it out of you. Hope that you will soon be back fit, well & giving us all a dose of that Pucster magic & experience. Good to hear from you! Keep up the recovery, & hope you are well enough to enjoy the Christmas Festivities with your family. Take Care & all the very best to you & your dear wife & your family.
  19. Back at Ya Dan! Hope things turn around for you & yours in 2018!
  20. Well, only 12 days to go so I thought it was time to wish all those who frequent this Forum, friends, jokers, helpers, advice givers, pi$$ takers & their families a Very Merry Christmas & lets hope 2018 brings some respite & happiness for those of you that have had struggles over the past year to deal with. A friend sent me this link, written by a guy (Don Murdock of Colbourne, Ontario) because he like many of us is fed up of the politically correct BS. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Have a GREAT time. https://www.youtube.com/embed/xS3RaagRv_I

This world needs people who can laugh & kid around like you guys! I know some of you have not had good years & can only hope that things turn around for you in the coming one. Peace! BTW what did you end up getting the little guy? Enquiring minds need to know (hopefully not those 22 shells you mentioned! LOL)
