  1. Congrats on your purchase! :happy65:Sounds like you've had plenty of time to decide whether you like it or not! LOL So hopefully you'll continue to be very happy there & enjoy your privacy. I had 10A in the UK, & loved that it was on the edge of town for work & all but a thousand miles away in most other respects. we're considering downsizing (not really by choice) & the thought of moving, packing & finding a new place scares the hell out of me! Be Happy!
  2. sorry to hear that story, but thankful that you are around to tell it! Too many a$$holes out there... Take Care & hope you heal quickly.
  3. Yes but in most gas stations, the air inflation gun is made to fit cars & trucks & won't fit on Venture/ RSTD (& I suspect many other bikes too) front wheel due to the angle of the inflator gun head & the clearance needed for brake rotor. So how do you cope with that when out riding & needing air?
  4. Oh heck yes! In many places you even need to pay a launch fee for a kayak!
  5. I wonder how they put that much power on the road.
  6. You guys had way cooler cars than we did in the UK! Know what you mean about prices, I've been looking (just looking) for something that could be a simple/ easy project, but there's nothing out there that I can afford!
  7. Thought you guys might enjoy this, the truck does seem quite pedestrian...
  8. This was my first car, (stock photo) 1962 Ford Anglia 105E a 4 cyl in line, whole whopping 997cc! (Never for a second thought I'd have a bike bigger than that!) LOL I remember taking the head off, grinding valves, flared the I/O ports, took the head in to college to skim it but the workshop tech wouldn't help me set it up. Hi flow exhaust system & manifold. Did a number of other things too, Boy could it move, not like the cars you guys had back then I guess, but it was way faster than my friends 1200cc "Super" Anglia. Sadly it did what many cars did back then, it just started to rust & fall apart, but it was a good introduction to driving. I didn't have the space or time to save it.
  9. well it looks then as though it will remain one of life's great mysteries, never to be solved. And now we won't be able to sleep nights thinking about it!
  10. There you go Puc, another of life's little mysteries solved for ya!
  11. Remember when you could get under the hood & actually DO stuff. Flow inlet & outlet ports, mess with carbs, add new bits, remove unwanted bits? Not like now where everything is computerized & you daren't touch anything for fear the thing will never run again. Or the bloody check engine light will be forever on.
  12. Looks to me like #1 just got too close to the road edge & rolled over it. Seen that before, clip that corner too tight & you're in trouble! If you look carefully, the second bike rider turns his head right, looking to see what happened & as we know you always look where you want to go... right? I think he looked right/ back & just went there. That's my take anyway.
  13. Ya! Have to wonder why a bike suddenly loses grip for no apparent reason. Tires? Road surface? Spills? (though couldn't see any). Didn't think it was loss of control due to speed. But some of those accidents you could see coming from a mile off. Riders looking in the wrong direction (or not looking at all), wrong positioning. Hopefully none of us will ever feature on a videolike that. Just hope all came out of it with not too many injuries.
  14. Excellent! Thanks for posting. Surprised to see that the engine mech. actually got his hands dirty assembling that engine. Wot? no mechanics gloves back then? LOL. Also laughed near the end where those two "hooligans" went screaming past the lady on the pedal cycle covering her in dust. There'd be a law suit now if that happened!
  15. If you're a bank executive probably a big fat raise, a promotion & a pat on the back for a job well done, Then a job in Guvmint fixin' the books! If you're you or me, probably 15 years or so!
  16. I started to watch but got fed up of all the historical jibber jabber. I'll watch when some real videos are released, but at least it seems that they didn't reduce the # of cylinders by 50%!
  17. That is one KEWL looking scoot! The music's not bad either... Well done Honda! :happy65:of course it'll be way too much for me to afford. But on the face of it, that's one good looking bike! Rock On!
  18. Not that I'm very knowledgeable about these things, but it sounds to me like you may (& I stress may) have a dodgy ignition switch.
  19. No need to pardon you, I think most of us would totally agree. I just cannot fathom what is so all fired important that people have to be glued to their phones every waking hour. I recall a conversation with my brother some years ago, He was hosting a party & his son then around 18 or so was standing texting, so bro. asked who his son was texting at a party. His friend Peter was the answer, Bro said, but Peter is over there, why not just go over & talk to him? Shrug of the shoulders & Dunno was the answer! I agree that it is extremely rude to be texting or phone-playing when with someone, how many times have we gone out for a coffee etc & at the next table is a group of girls, boys (not necessarily teens either... often older) ALL texting or messing with phones & not communicating much at all with each other directly. Unless of course they are texting each other! I just don't get it but there again I am an old dinosaur. PS you can fix up a Miata for me if you like & I'll text you where to deliver it! LOL
  20. Two days to go then!
  21. Holy Smokes, that's incredible 10-12 years! & Hey! don't get me wrong I'm not knocking it! If you can afford to do stuff like that it's absolutely wonderful! Hope it gives you & your family many years of joy. I sometimes wonder if I'm not far too "careful" with my pension! (after all I can't take it with me can I?) Hate to think what insurance on something like that would cost us here in BC! Definitely more than $117 for six months that's for sure!
  22. Geeez! You guys must all have LOTS of money.
  23. Good that he is still alive & recovering. What the hell is so important.... NOTHING! So pathetic that people can't leave their phones alone. It's reached epidemic proportions here in the Lower Mainland of BC. Every single time I go out I see some idiot on their phone. It has been allowed to go on unchallenged for far too long, so now it's just endemic. I told someone a few days ago to "get off your phone" (slow moving traffic queue) her answer? The usual expletive off! then she purposely cut over & actually tried to take the front of our Jeep off. We were just stunned at the sheer stupidity.
  24. Evan hope it was a great day with many more to come! all the best from rainy BC!

Very timely, my wife happened to send me this link...(hope it works) https://biggeekdad.com/2012/10/move-the-deer-crossing/ Unbelievable! I will make absolutely no further comment, because anything I say would be superfluous.
