  1. Well the sun will be out here soon then it's back up to the 90's. Hopefully we won't be getting anymore unwelcome visitors anytime soon. Margaret
  2. Just let us know if you're gonna make it. We can organize a meet pretty quickly for whoever can show up. Hope you get to make it here. Margaret
  3. Looks like Hatteras had ocean overwash, which is typical. Hwy 12 is under a bit of water, but all in all not looking too bad out that way. We didn't get much of anything. Still raining but not much wind. Looks like Earl will be a cat 1 when it hits up north and moving fast. Heck our kids went to school on a 2 hr delay outerbanks kids had the day off. Looks like Earl was kind to us, seems to have only gotten to within 85 miles of Hatteras and it's weakening. Margaret
  4. Thanks Tom I'll be looking forward to getting mine. Margaret
  5. Well looks like all we'll see is tropical storm force winds and most likely some rain. Thankfully no direct hit, gonna be rough for Hatteras though. I live on the mainland side off the Albemarle sound. Pretty much any direction you go from my house 3 blocks is water, sound, river, canals and creeks. Thanks for all the offers we got to come visit, really appreciate it. Of course hurricane season is still young in these parts. Never really picks up till the end of Aug around here. Margaret
  6. Spring is not stretched out when it's on the center stand on an 83. Should be the same on all the 1st gens. Margaret
  7. Glad he's ok a bit sore but still with us. I wish people would pay attention when they drive but I guess that's just wishful thinking. Margaret
  8. Glad it all went well and you seem to be back up and running. Margaret
  9. Well if he were sitting on the passenger seat he'd be sitting on Dee's lap. But good question on how he lost the seat. Good luck Allan we may need to change your name again or add to it. Margaret
  10. Thanks for the pics and I was glad to see George got the camera away long enough to get some shots of you too Bobbie. Margaret
  11. At the moment it looks like Earl's center will pass about 70 miles west of Cape Hatteras. I'm hoping that's the closest it gets. Got most of the yard cut, can't tell how long it'll take to dry out if we get lots of rain. Then just sit back and wait. Margaret
  12. I saw this in the local paper and thought of you Don. Please only use the weed eater by the pond from now on. Muffin say only the gas weed eater, no electric. N.C. man dies after lawn mower pins him in pond The Associated Press © August 31, 2010 CLEVELAND, N.C. A North Carolina man has died after a riding lawn mower pinned him underwater for almost half an hour. The Salisbury Post reported 53-year-old Genovevo Garcia of Cleveland drowned Monday at a farm where he was mowing grass along the edge of a pond. Farm owner Bill Russell says the mower tipped over and rolled into the water on top of Garcia. Russell says he saw Garcia fall into the pond and drove his four-wheeler over to the water to help. But he couldn't move the mower. Firefighters used a pulley system made of Russell's four-wheeler, a rope and a nearby tree to remove the mower. Garcia was pronounced dead at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville. Margaret
  13. Sorry about the bike, glad you're ok. Good luck on getting a new bike or getting that one fixed. Margaret
  14. Hey Skid when did you change your name? Margaret
  15. Glad to hear life is getting back to some sort of normal for you. I wouldn't worry about Fiona seems she's falling apart, Earl that's another story. Looks good for it to make the turn and not hit land. Let us know how it felt for the first day back. I'm sure it'll go well. Also glad to hear that there is some feeling back. Margaret
  16. Oh if that thing is coming in, I'm not staying here. We live right off the sound with just the outerbanks between us and the ocean. Plus we have the river and canals down here. Flooding would be a definite concern here if we get hit. Otherwise I'll just sit down and get drunk while it blows by. They still think it will go by us, I'm hoping they are right. Margaret
  17. That's Hurricane Earl. I hope this thing doesn't have a direct hit here. Worst part is they aren't calling for this to be less then a cat 4 when it gets close. Local news was out at Rodanthe and the folks that are vacationing are saying they aren't leaving. Kinda stupid. Once the storm gets here hwy 12 will be gone, after that they are stuck. That's really no place to stay when something like this comes through. Guess they never saw any of the news during any of our other hurricanes or nor'easters. I'm not a big fan of these things, the winds scare me. Too many trees near us. During Isabel we couldn't get out till the fire dept chain sawed it's way in to us. Plus this thing is gonna be here at night. I hate that even more you can't see anything that's happening, not that I want to see it. Well hope everyone stays safe during this. Good news is Fiona looks like she'll stay away. Of course then the next one may be forming by then. Margaret

  20. Here's the pics from Sat in Front Royal VA. You can tell which pics Dan helped me out with. The last 4 have the owners of the BBQ place we went to in them. They were great, and he's hilarious. The guys liked his shirt you can read it in the last pic for sure. It was a really fun time, but then when don't we have a good time. Margaret
  21. In Texas. Margaret the infidel
  22. We understand Dan that happens with age. Margaret
  23. Pics are posted in the pic section. You can see how we really aren't trouble makers. Just a bunch of sweet angels. Margaret
  24. Here's some pics of the carb tune going on down at Beer30 and Beer 24/7's shop on friday. The young fella is Jason (bluerstd08) he's easy to spot, since he's younger then the rest of the guys. Had fun and you can see Becky (beer24/7) was busy working while we were there. Margaret
  25. Well we got home by around 5 today. Headed to David's (Riderduke) house for the night Courtney and Felicia weren't home so we kept him company. Ran into some traffic on 95 so we got off that and headed down some back roads. Nice leisurely ride, which is why we weren't home when you called Dan. Oh thanks for the song on the voice mail. I save it, gonna have to figure out how to make it an mp3 to post it. Anyway did you ever figure out who paid for your dinner last night? Was great seeing you and we had a lot of fun. I don't think that BBQ place will ever be the same. Need to get a patent on that Polish GPS. :rotf:I have pics I'll post up later. Margaret
