a trunk rack that fits an 86-93 1stGen. The rack that the trunk and passenger rails mount to. Anyone have one laying around in halfway decent condition. I see them show up on Ebay all the time....until you need one..... For all you members up north I appreciate the thought, but shipping will cost a ton... Thanks for looking. Jack

Are you tired of having your helmets scratched by those terrible bolts that Yamaha provides with the trunk rack? Here is an easy fix - just go to your local hardware store and pick up some low-profile replacements in M6-1.00x16 size. Here are the ones I got at Lowes: [ATTACH]14141[/ATTACH] I know this is pretty obvious, but I thought some of you might appreciate having the bolt size instead of having to remove one of the existing bolts and take it in to match up. We purchased our 2007 Midnight RSV in August. This is our first touring bike as my wife is enjoying being the passenger. Through the winter months I am shopping for accessories as we are planning some trips for summer 2008. We need a trunk rack bag that will hold lots and has compartments but at the same time won't be too big that it wont stay in place or overload the trunk lid. Does anyone have any ideas or pics of what has worked. We have seen one on Kuryakyn's website (Rollbag #830-516) That looks interesting. Has anyone used this one? Also looking for 3 piece windsheild bag that will fit the RSV. I am not sure how easy it would be to fasten it. I remember seeing a posting by one of the members but cant find it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. JR

I wanted to get the trunk rack for the RSV but I am also looking at the spoiler/rear light for the trunk. It looks like in the picture that the trunk rack from Yamaha is too low and might interfere but I can't find a dealer with one in stock locally to check. I did see a rack on a Venture that would work but could not find a name on it and could not find the rider. Does anyone here have both or know of a luggage rack that will work with the spoiler?

Hi Guys! I just purchased a friend's (pull behind the bike) trailer and it has the perfect place to mount an ice chest cooler rack right between the hitch and the bed. So, now I'm looking for some suggestions where to look for this type of rack. It would also be nice if I could use it alone (on the hitch) without the trailer. Anyone have some ideas or pictures to share? Thanks & Be Safe! Pete.

I have heard here and elsewhere the odd time of someone who has or built a rack to carry a bicycle on a motorcycle. Does anyone have pictures or more details of how to make one, or where or how the bicycle is carried?

Hi all - I am happy to say that I was finally able to go get my "new" 07 RSV (to replace the 05 I crashed back in August). My broken collar bone is healing well, if a bit slow due to the amount of bone overlap. Anyway, the point of this post is to see if someone is interested in swapping trunk lids with me. I really don't like the way the rear trunk wing looks mounted on this bike, so the easiest option would be to swap trunk lids with someone who has a blue 07 and wants what I have. Here are some pictures of my trunk: [ATTACH]12925[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]12926[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]12927[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]12928[/ATTACH] If you have a stock blue trunk lid, I'd swap it for the discounted price of the rack and wing on mine - $360. That way you get a perfect trunk lid with the rack and wing already mounted for less than you can probably buy the rack and wing alone. For a trunk lid with only the rack installed, I'd swap for $230 (discounted cost of the wing). If you are interested and within a couple of hundred miles of Dallas, Texas, let me know. I don't mind riding to meet you, but shipping the trunk lids somewhere probably does not make much sense.

Take the trunk off and on the rack that it sits on, put some 1/2 inch inside diameter by an inch or so long pieces of hose on where the rubber pads are on the underside of the trunk. Just slit the pieces of hose lengthwise and wrap them around the rack. When you put the trunk back on you may need to wiggle it side to side some and pull backward. Once you get it on and locked, it will be nice and snug!! RandyA

Finally getting a few things done on the RSTD:) 1) Have had my VIP trunk on for several months 2)Installed 2 sets of blinking break light I-pod LEDs on license plate bracket. 3)installed KROMEWERKS mufflers (waiting for 30 degree slash tips to be delivered) BOY I LIKE THESE PIPES. 4) Installed engine bar brackets. You can stand on them bars now. 5) Installed break/turn/stop lights on lower edge of VIP trunk. Havent hooked up yet ---will do that tomorrow. 6) tried to order rack for VIP trunk:confused24: ---was told new rack coming out in a couple of months --said old rack was cracking trunks. I need a luggage rack for the tour pack on my 2006 Venture. I really like Diamond R products but cannot bring up their site. Can anyone recommend a rack, other than Yamaha's? I would prefer a small chrome rack, as I hate to ruin the lines of the motorcycle. I have ridden for a year without a rack, but now need somewhere to bungie on folding chairs for concerts.
