  1. This is an unusual way to be presented at your final viewing... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbpy0DWp1Co&feature=player_embedded]click[/ame]
  2. Folks, I'm getting emails every day asking if it is possible to join or renew memberships by credit or debit card for those without PayPal accounts. Please note, you do NOT need a PayPal account in order to pay with a credit/debit card or an e-check. If you do not want to use PayPal but DO want to use your credit or debit card, you can simply click on "settings" at the upper right corner of the page, scroll down until you see "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. Click on that link. You will then see a page that says "VentureRider Support" with a drop down box on the right side. Click on the arrow on that drop down box and select the only option, 1 year - $12.00. The click the button that says "Order". That will open a new page. Click the button that says "Order Using PayPal". There will be a link on that page to pay using a credit or debit card without a PayPal account. In that case, they are just the credit card processor. That will open another page. From that page, you can login and pay with your PayPal account OR you can select the option that says "Don't have a PayPal Account"? Click "Continue" beside that option and you will get a page where you can use your credit or debit card or e-check without a PayPal account. In this case, I am simply using PayPal as my credit card processor. In the attached image, I have circled the part that I am talking about. Thanks, Don
  3. A huge thanks to Saltydog for converting this manual to a .pdf file and making it available for all our VentureRider members. He says it is a good resource for members needing troubleshooting and operating instructions for the Yamaha CB radio. It is a good source for all the part numbers. You can right click on the link and then "save as" to download it to your computer. [/url]http://www.venturerider.org/cbinstall/venturecb.pdf
  4. Well, After my second no start because the battery had lost it's juice, I finally installed the high output mosfet regulator. The AAA, gave me a boost (Boy I'm' glad I have it!) I was getting Burger's after my night shift. well I thought it might do this RRRR click click.: So I got back to the garage and tore into her found the side cover leak I had fixed it as well. Boy what a stupid place for a voltage regulator!! So I will find out later today if it works Sorry no pics I was a little pi#sed off. but now its' done. Cheers Mike R. In Calgary..
  5. Folks, I'm getting quiet a few PMS and emails asking when your memberships expire. Most of you can click on "UserCP" in the menu bar and then scroll down until you see "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. Click on that and it will tell you when your subscription expires. I THINK that only works for those of you who went through that link to pay. If you mailed your dues and I had to do it manually, I'm not sure it will display the dates. Those of you who got in close to the beginning of the process will be coming due primarily between the middle and end of April. Assuming that they system works correctly, you should get email notifications if you subscribed through that link. Renewals can be done at anytime you wish.

  7. Well look what I found while planning a trip! Go to Google maps at 3240 U.S. 2, St. Ignace, MI, United States Click the little guy and drag him to see the road at that address. You will see a black pick-up on side of the road, click the arrow to go toward the pick-up and you will see a white Venture with a trailer come at you . Google got you!!! Anyone from here? You are a celebrity now! Bryan
  8. If anyone needs Motorkote now is the time to buy it before summer. Go to http://www.motorkote.com an down on the left hand side of the page click on Steve Sommers Specials. I think they are running these prices till the 22 of Feb.
  9. I prefer a newspaper in hand but this is a neat web site if you like reading newspapers online. Just put your mouse on a city anywhere in the world and the newspaper headlines pop up... Double click and the page gets larger....you can read the entire paper on some if you click on the right place. You can spend hours here. http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/flash/ Also, if you look at the European papers, the far left side of Germany will pop up as The Stars & Stripes (European edition, of course). AND, this site changes every day with the publication of new editions of the paper.
  10. This is way cool .... click here
  11. We have a dedicated forum for the purpose of members sharing their favorite restaurants around the country. It is a bit confusing because it uses forms to keep them all formatted the same and many people have asked how to submit a review. There are two ways to do so. 1. There are two menu bars at the top of the forum. In the lower menu bar on the far right side just beside the link to Log Out is a link called "Quick Links". If you click on Quick Links, the last item in the menu that opens up is "Submit Restaurant". Just click on that and you will be taken to a page with the forms for each area. 2. On the home page of the forum there are blue bars that designate each forum. Watering Hole, Tech Talk areas, etc. The one for the restaurant section says "Member Restaurant Reviews" and just under that, still in the blue bar, is text that says "Click here to submit your favorite restaurants". That is the text you want to click on and it will take you to the same forms at the link under "Quick Links".
  12. We've been kickin' around the idea of building some type of aluminum pull behind camper trailer for our bike. While searchin' the web for shape and other feature ideas, came across this sight. http://www.microlitetrailer.com/microlitegallery.html click on moto-mate Found some other brands hooked to GW, BMW, Kaw Voyager, and HD, but this one really caught my eye. Anybody here?? Later, Scooter Bob
  13. Go to the Motorkote website www.motorkote.com on the left hand side of the page you will see Steve Sommers Show Specials click on that an your all set. Free shipping an also a Free Hat !
  14. Just a little educational note about our classifieds section. When it is getting close to the time for your ad to expire, you get an email asking if you wish to renew the ad. There is a link to click if you item hasn't sold and you wish to renew it. There is another link to click if your item has sold or if you just don't want to relist it for whatever reason. That is ALL you do. If you wish to renew the ad and you click on the link, that automatically renews the ad. You don't click on the link and then have to go somewhere and do something else. You just click on the link and it is automatically renewed. I get a lot of emails from people telling me that they clicked the link to renew their ad but then couldn't find where to do it. There is nothing else to do. Just click the link.

  16. Help ! , Just 978 miles on my new RSV and I'm hearing a distinctive "click' "click" "click" noise as I coast to a stop! I called my dealer's service dept. and was told to check a shim in the rear brake caliper that may be the "culprit" ( ? ) ...I dunno but it sure sounds like something in the Diff ( ? ). Anyone else had that issue ? I know I need to "visit" my dealer but I'm a bit worried that there is something amiss and don't need to experience a rear wheel lock-up at cruise + on the way there ! 17. The South Carolina Dept of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is trying to make available a new license tag available to Honorable Discharged Veterans. They are making one available for cars and one available for motorcycles. For each, they need 400 applications received to the DMV soon. They only have about 70 MC applicants as of the end of March. If you are licensed in SC and are interested please follow the link below, then click to download the "MOTORCYCLE" form. You will send it in with $5 to "pre-apply". If they do not get the 400 they will return you money. I believe the special tag fees are lower than typical vanity tags,,, if at all. The tag is displayed on the link site, it is blue background, says VETERAN and has a star. Not the coolest looking tag out,,, but says you served. (see below) I was not in a war zone (but I did kept the Viet Cong out of Witchita!), so this tag is for me, a vet who supports others. If you cannot download the form, I can email a PDF copy to you (I went by the Hwy Dept and got one). Link: http://www.scdmvonline.com/DMVNew/default.aspx Click on the MOTORCYCLE form MV37B. http://www.scdmvonline.com/DMVNew/images/VetPlate.jpg

  19. Ain't this the truth, Just watch this music video and tell me this isn't happening all over!! Click here: They're Shutting Detroit Down Ian Hope the link works!
  20. I need y'all's collective experience to hopefully save me some troubleshooting time. I know I have warranty left but I would rather KNOW what's wrong before I take it to a dealer, IF I take it in at all. I backed the RSV out of the garage this morning to ride to work. Turned on the key and heard the fuel pump click a couple of times. Push the starter button, heard a click then no lights, no nothing. Since I put the pigtail for the BatteryMinder on a couple of weeks ago I figure that a terminal is loose. Took the seat off and checked but it's all tight. Turned the key off then back on and dash lights and everything else has power again. Push the starter button and nothing but a loud click that sounds like it's from under the right side cover. I did double check the battery and it's fully charged; in fact I keep it on the BatteryMinder now. Is there a main circuit breaker behind the right side cover? Does this sound like something anyone here has experienced? If it is a circuit breaker then something is triggering it. Any thoughts before I start checking it out would be helpful.
  21. How do you post a web page on here so that if you click on the link then it will display the page that I am referring to? I tried to do this earlier, but when you click the link it says that the web page can't be displayed. Thanks hairman

    New Toy

Similar to here for my video passion, I have found a forum of some great folks and DIY enterpernuers. So when we get a new toy we like to show them off. One of the fellows on the video forum started building tripod dollies out of his woodworking business and we have beeen wanting one for some time but anything Pro Video is BIG bucks. So we bought one from this gentlemen and were emailing him to tell him how happy we were with it, he ask us to put together a video of some of our favorite shots using it for him. He also has a cool video on his site www.eazydolly.com So while not motorycycle related I threw this together last night and thought I would share it here as there are some pretty smooth cool shots in it. This things works smmoth as butter and is about a 1/3 the cost of pro models. I see some cool shots of the bikes all cleaned up and shining with this thing this summer! Like the jack adpaters and other widgets builders here you gotta love the skill kindess and sharing of those that can for us others here on these forums. So here goes us having fun with the new toys. PS: And again these are HD videos so once it starts if you click on the four arrows in the lower right corner you can watch them full screen at full 720P HD resolution. If you have a slow connection once it starts click the HD ON to trun off HD and it should stream a little better. [ame=http://www.vimeo.com/3218683]Eazy Dolly Test Shots Reel on Vimeo[/ame]

    Autumn Leaves

On one of the last really beautiful warm Autumn Days I was riding around the Cincinnati and Northern KY area, and put this little piece together! With my Vimeo videos you can click the four little arrows in the lower right corner (next to where it says Vimeo) and have a good fast connection, you can watch these Full Screen in full 720p High Def! If not hover over the video and click the HD ON and that will turn HD off and it will stream a little faster on slower machines FYI... Thanks for watching! [ame=http://www.vimeo.com/2186371]Autumn Leaves on Vimeo[/ame]
  24. The last couple days I've noticed that I can't go "back" to a forum... neither the mouse or the "alt back arrow" work under Netscape...??? I have to scroll to the top of the page and click on the directory tree. Strange that the "back button" works fine if I click on one of the "selected" member pictures at the top of the main forum... It works fine with IE but I tend to stay away from that...
