  1. If this is at all inappropriate to post this here, please let me know. Okay all my VentureRider buddies. I got an email from my niece asking me to help her with a fundraiser for class activities and field trips as well as prize(s) for herself. It would seem she didn't think about asking me until the fundraising was almost over. The fundraising ends on the 15th I guess. But I thought I would give it a shot and see how much I could help her out at the last minute. I'm just gonna cut and paste my email so you all get the info needed if ya wanna help me help my lovely little niece out. Thanks in advance from both my niece and myself. 2. Hey Folks, I just came accross a Yamaha dealer that has the best online oem parts and accessory prices I have ever seen. Recently I had to buy a new front cowling for my 07 Midnight Venture and started searching online dealers to see what prices were out there. And I started with MR Cycles out of Ashville, NC who I had bought from before, where I felt they had some of the best discounts on oem parts. Well for some reason I decided to Google the part number and at the top of the search was Stadium Yamaha with a price of $711 for a $1,000 part, which was about $100 less than any of the usual discount dealerships including Ron Ayers, MR Cycles, Bike Bandit, etc. When I did the math, this came to a 30% discount. I felt this dealership was in the DFW Metroplex, but when I looked further I discovered it was really my old Irving Yamaha dealership, under a new owner and name. So I called their on-line parts manager Kirk Gross and discovered that they are purposely going after this oem on-line parts market and are discounting oem parts and accessories as low as Yamaha will allow. And like other dealers that do this, Yamaha has to deliver parts to them and they turnaround and ship it to you via UPS and do not mark the shipping up any. So, if you are ever in the market for a new Yamaha oem part, you really need to take a look at this dealership and their on-line prices. Here is the link to their site: http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/ And if you need to talk to a real person, you can contact Kirk Gross 972-445-0825 Hope this helps, Rick
  3. A friend of mine suggested that I use Hylomar universal blue non-hardening gasket sealant to cure my alternator cover leak. After looking it up on-line, it looks like it'd be great. Anybody ever use it? http://www.newmantools.com/chemicals/hylomar.htm Frank D.
  4. Does anyone know where/how to adjust the carb sync on a 2001 600 Bandit S ? I do not have a manual and can't find anything on-line . . .

When ordering on-line I alwas been wary of it and this is a great place to order from..

  7. What is the rear tire size for the Dunlop Elite 3?????? Is it different than the stock? I put the smaller e-3 on the front and I love it. Now it is time for the rear and I am trying to find one on-line (I have access to tire equipment). Thank you in advance, always great advice here. '03 Venture Wayne
  8. Does anyone know if the hotel located at The Hub provides internet access in the rooms by means of a router or cable hookup? I will be arriving there Saturday and need to review work stuff on-line, time permitting of course. If not, no need to drag my laptop along. Appreciate any info anyone can provide.

  10. Today at work, it's one of those days which is just kinda dragging on. The weather is absolutely perfect and if my bike wasn't in the shop waiting for a fuel-pump to arrive, I would be out riding. Anyway ..., I checked-out a web site today which gave me a nice mental vacation. Here's a reference to one of my favorite videos which theyhave available for on-line viewing: http://www.forbetterlife.org/be-inspired/tv.asp?id=1090 You just can't help but feel good after watching their short little video spots. Enjoy! Pete.
  11. At one point I know there was a service manual on-line here for the 83-85 Ventures. Can't seem to find it now. Is it still here someplace Thanks
  12. I hate it when you go order a product on-line that states "Usually ships within 2-4 days " . You call them to place the order instead of doing it on-line to make sure they have it in stock and they say they do . Then to call a 4 days later (just to verify) to find out that that part will not leave the manufacturer till Dec 28th (I placed my order on Nov 25th) . I strongly believe if they are out of stock ,then simply state they are out of stock and quit jerking the customers around . I'm already waiting patiently on several products on back-order , as I know just about everyone is out of stock of those products and I will wait due to some excellent prices till they arrive . By the way , I did call another vendor who said to me that they had only one set of Baron 4-2-4's left and he personally pulled them off the shelf for me and I will receive them next week . BEER30
  13. Well, I don't know what to think of this article exactly, but if it's true it could mean I'll have to go back to writing letters to the editor. Says on the following link to CNN that software developers have developed a "Stupid" filter for on-line forums that automatically puts stupid comments in the trash. Wonder if they can build one that works as an interlock on the car's ignition? http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2007/11/12/100954554/index.htm?postversion=2007110712
