  1. I have been having trouble with these people, so I say watch out if you decide to do business with them.. Seem I got a quote on a loader to load my RSV into the back of my pickup truck in early Nov. We will be hauling a travel trailer and want to take the bike with us. I told them on the 13 of Nov that I would take a demonstrator loader that they were marking down $200 from the list price. I was to meet them in Harrisburg VA on the 16th and they would install .. Seems Installer couldn't make it then could do the next day, too busy because he was going out west for the rest of the week. Meantime I found that the loader does not sit flush with the end of the bed or tail gate but hangs out 1 1/2 inch. This is not how it is described on there web site and makes it unusable for me. I called and canceled my order on the 18th. Well, this is where the trouble started, first they would have to see if it could be canceled, then yes it was, but they could not credit back to my credit card until they sold the unit to someone else. After many phone call they finally on the 27th sent me so call verification that they had credited back my money. So far as of today my credit card company is unable to find this so called credit back.. I have contested the charge and the story is to be continued. These are not people to do business with, I am concerned they couldn't credit back because they are financially unable. Time will tell.. Ordered a Rampage loader, installed it and it's great. I can load the bike on the truck in less than ten minutes including strapping it down and unloading is even quicker. Added bounes is it was $500 cheaper and that included freight.
  2. I thought I had heard all the names for yamaha but this weekend I learned a new one. I went in Rossmeyer Harley Davidson while at biketoberfest in Daytona to look at the new ultra classics. A salesman was sitting on a bike and I guess was too lazy to get up. I was looking at the ultra but it didn't have a price. I asked the salesman what the price was and he didn't know but pulled a card out of his shirt pocket. The only thing I saw on the card was a bunch of numbers. He looked at the card for awhile and said $24,000. I asked, how much over msrp is that? He said, oh about a thousand dollars. Then he asked, do you have a bike now? I told him I have a yamaha venture. He said, hey you want to get off that yum yum today and get a harley. Normally I would get angry but for some reason that was funny.
  3. I knew that plastic Venture rider card would come in handy. I forgot my keys so i used your card to open the back door of my house The card is vey useful I scraped the bugs of my windshield Used it as a fan Here's a photo Dray soliciting his card to a member 99 silver,, :rotfl:
  4. OK, I am not the sharpest tack in the box so someone out there should be able to help me with this. I have the 550 and I know that you can store music on this thing to listen to--I have a 2 gig SD card and can not figure out how to keep my CD's together when I put the songs on the card. I have a 3 disk series of George Jones and want to keep each disk's songs together but when I load the disks on the SD card all the songs load by the song number. All the 01 songs are together then the 02--03 etc. How do I load the disks and keep them as they are on the CD? Is this confusing enough???
  5. My poor venture has been on the jack for 11 days now. Ordered the BFG tire from these guys. Recieved order confirmation showing my shipping and billing addresses, and it stated I would receive tracking number within 48 hours. After 10 days of no response to emails and phone messages for a tracking number, they finally called me back. The cannot ship the tire because my SHIPPING address is different from the BILLING address on my credit card!!!! I live in a commercial district. All mail goes to the POB. The guy wanted me to change the BILLING address on the credit card to my SHIPPING address. I told him that if I did that, I would never receive my bill, and to cancel the order. I placed a new order at DiscountTire.com. They are out of stock, and it may be 14 days before they get it. I really need my bike. I never thought the BFG would be this much trouble to get. I guess all you other guys bought them all.
  6. Don't know if this is the right forum to post this in but, after reading it, it reminded me of this site and the people that are on this site. That the people here go out of their way to help people with their problems no matter how big or small. This is a good read for Memorial Day. I hope everyone had a good Holiday As a veteran, please read this, especially today under the conditions we are living On Memorial Day.... As I came out of the supermarket that sunny day, pushing my cart of groceries towards my car, I saw an old man with the hood of his car up and a lady sitting inside the car, with the door open. The old man was looking at the engine I put my groceries away in my car and continued to watch the old gentleman from about twenty five feet away. I saw a young man in his early twenties with a grocery bag in his arm, walking towards the old man. The old gentleman saw him coming too and took a few steps towards him. I saw the old gentleman point to his open hood and say something. The young man put his grocery bag into what looked like a brand new Cadillac Escalade and then turn back to the old man and I heard him yell at the old gentleman saying, 'You shouldn't even be allowed to drive a car at your age.' And then with a wave of his hand, he got in his car and peeled rubber out of the parking lot. I saw the old gentleman pull out his handkerchief and mop his brow as he went back to his car and again looked at the engine. He then went to his wife and spoke with her and appeared to tell her it would be okay. I had seen enough and I approached the old man. He saw me coming and stood straight and as I got near him I said, 'Looks like you're having a problem.' He smiled sheepishly and quietly nodded his head. I looked under the hood myself and knew that whatever the problem was, it was beyond me. Looking around I saw a gas station up the road and told the old man that I would be right back. I drove to the station and went inside and saw three attendants working on cars. I approached one of them and related the problem the old man had with his car and offered to pay them if they could follow me back down and help him. The old man had pushed the heavy car under the shade of a tree and appeared to be comforting his wife. When he saw us he straightened up and thanked me for my help. As the mechanics diagnosed the problem (overheated engine) I spoke with the old gentleman. When I shook hands with him earlier, he had noticed my Marine Corps ring=2 0and had commented about it, telling me that he had been a Marine too. I nodded and asked the usual question, 'What outfit did you serve with?' He had mentioned that he served with the first Marine Division at Tarawa, Saipan, Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal . He had hit all the big ones and retired from the Corps after the war was over. As we talked we heard the car engine come on and saw the mechanics lower the hood. They came over to us as the old man reached for his wallet, but was stopped by me and I told him I would just put the bill on my AAA card. He still reached for the wallet and handed me a card that I assumed had his name and address on it and I stuck it in my pocket.. We all shook hands all around again and I said my goodbye's to his wife. I then told the two mechanics that I would follow them back up to the station. Once at the station I told them that they had interrupted their own jobs to come along with me and help the old man. I said I wanted to pay for the help, but they refused to charge me. One of them pulled out a card from his pocket looking exactly like the card the old man had given to me. Both of the men told me then, that they were Marine Corps Reserves. Once again we shook hands all around and as I was leaving, one of them told me I should look at the card the old man had given to me. I said I would and drove off. For some reason I had gone about two blocks when I pulled over and took the card out of my pocket and looked at it for a long, long time. The name of the old gentleman was on the card in golden leaf and under his name....... 'Congressional Medal of Honor Society.' http://www.cmohs..org/ I sat there motionless looking at the card and reading it over and over. I looked up from the card and smiled to no one but myself and marveled that on this day, four Marines had all come together, because one of us needed help. He was an old man all right, but it felt good to have stood next to greatness and courage and an honor to have been in his presence. Remember, OLD men like him gave you FREEDOM for America . Thanks to those who served...& those who supported them. America is not at war. The U.S.. Military is at war. America is at the Mall. If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them! Remember , Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.
  7. Met the guy & introduced myself & my wife. Gave him a VR.org card. Maybe he'll check us out.

  11. Guys, Beware if you get an email from "Ridelikeapro.com", saying that your credit card order had a problem. I just received this email, and I have not ordered from them in many moons. Someone is PHISHING for your card info. I sne them an email to let them know their site is being used to PHISH data from their customers. Whatever you do, DO NOT CLICK ON THEIR LINK AND ANSWER ANYTHING. Your credit card will be used to spend your $$ on someone elses Christmas.
  12. I have been avoiding signing up for pay pal due to concerns about security of my information. Upon reflection, perhaps I am more at risk in providing my credit card information each time I make a purchase. Just wondering what you all think about the "Pay Pal" transaction process...any negatives that you have encountered? Appreciate the feedback.
  13. Check out this website, ya'll! http://www.LetsSayThanks.com and pick out and send a card to someone who is not home for Christmas. Brandy

  16. For all of you that visited the Biltmore while in Ashville and paid by credit card.....BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR STATEMENT. I got my bill yesterday only to learn that they triple charged me for 1 ticket. I had the receipt for my one ticket and they then ran my card through 2 more times. .....They must have thought I was seriouis when I said that Riderduke was my spouse and Muffinman was my mistress (it was a family outing). 17. As some of you know, Bob, aka Atlanta DragonSlayer, was on the road for about 25 days, trying to post some of his adventures here. He mentioned to me that one of the problems, even with an air card ( wireless modem) that his internet access has been spotty to non-existent. One thing that those of you who travel with a laptop might not know about, is the IdleAire card. As a truck driver, we often have the same problem with mobile internet access. You can buy one of these cards, (its like a credit card), and put as much money on it as you want...I put $30 on mine. Then whenever you are passing by a truck stop with IdleAire, you can sit in or around the truckstop, and check your email, using the built-in WIFI on your laptop. Sure, there are many of these services all over, but the cool thing about IdleAire is that for one hour of WIFI, it only costs $1.50! When you log on, it deducts the amount from the balance on your card, so you arent paying for anything you dont use. In that hour, you can surely check email and catch up on postings here on the board, and if you actually need more time, then you can log on for a 24 hour block of time for $4.95. Im not sayin this is better than a true air card, just really good as a backup. You can find IdleAire stations at most Petro and TA truckstops, and many others around the country. Just look for the big steel overhead gantry near the back of the truckstop, and go into the IdleAire office, and sign up for a card. Its easy, and if you need help, like recovering a password, or configuring your software, they have a 1-800 number you can call and they put a live tech support person on right away. I've used this service many times, and $30 lets me check in 20 times for an hour each. This might help someone traveling who only needs to check email a few times a week or month. Its not as convinient as a true air card, but then, its not $60 a month, either! I dont have any investment in the company, just passing this along as a possible alternative to those who might not know about it. http://www.idleaire.com/images/site_4_001_en.jpg
  18. What is the recommendation GB for an SD card for the Zumo 550 and appx how many songs will it hold? I read somewhere that no matter how much GB on your SD card the Zumo will only read 500 songs...I doubt I ever put that many on but want to know. Tom
  19. After finding out the police are useless, (sorry,Tim) I looked on line and figured out each place the little perp went. Got addresses and phone numbers of the businesses and called each of them. (all 6). I was polite, at first. Then I asked them there policy on I.D. check for a credit card. I was as polite as I could be as I told them about their upcoming loss on Visa. Wal-Mart Corporate is taking my suggestion further. I should be hearing from them. At least, I was made to feel like a customer with a valid problem. Don't get me started on the police depts, locally and in Asheville, Buncombe and Grantham counties. Asheville receptionist wanted to know the addresses of the crime. I said I wasn't following the thief at the time.
  20. One of the things that goes with our hobby is bad things happen. Therefore, I feel it is real important that you carry an ICE card, that's an "In Case of Emergency" card with pertinant phone number contacts. I have one that I carry on me and I also have another one in my motorcycle. I have my name, my wife's, my son's and my two sister's names and phone numbers listed. I printed them up on yellow paper and laminated them at work and I have them about the size of credit card. I hope I never need them, but if I do, the information is available. With todays use of cellular phones, it is not as easy to look up information as it once was. RandyA
  21. The NAVIGATOR and I went and seen the Dark Knight at South Point casino. When we pulled in there was a real pretty blue VENTURE so we parked next to it and I got one of my VENTURERIDER cards out to put on the windshield and low and behold there was a VR card already there. We looked at it and it was left by none other then our own Princess M (very cool). We went in and saw the movie (which was pretty good) and came out and Princess M and DK KNIGHT left us a card on our windshield asking "WHO R U" So it was I and the NAVIGATOR so now you know and we should do ??. Your people contact my people and it will be magical Maybe a little M & E with all the other VR members in the area. Hope the person an the Blue VENTURE contacts the board or me my ph# is on my card...........................................Ron
