  1. Hi Rick. You know how I feel about your Victory. I think I told you several times last year that it was a beauty. You should certainly bring that along so we can oogle over it and perhaps at the wrap up Saturday night, we can auction it off. I will start the bidding at $10,000. Dale.

Very sorry to hear. Prayers sent. Dale.
  3. Man, you guys are sure hard on these texters. You don't understand that their message is very important, and can't wait til they stop to relay it. What if they just had an awesome lunch and needed to lay down a Tweet about it or, even more importantly, post it on Facebook. This information NEEDS to get out as soon as humanly possible. (I hope this post came across as sarcasm. I can't fkn stand it when I see people texting while driving) Dale.
  4. That's exactly what I was thinking. I also have a '13, and if I had this issue, it would be back at the dealership faster than you could say "damn, my leg is getting hot". Good luck. Dale.
  5. Wow, that thing looks NEW! B-E-A-utiful. Enjoy, Puc. Dale.
  6. It's good to hear from you, Ed. Hang in there. Brighter days ahead! Dale.
  7. 'Twas indeed a nice day here, Bernie. I got in a wee ride myself. Dale
  8. Hi all. I'm not too sure if this is making headlines south of the border or not, but we have a devastating wildfire going on right now in northern Alberta. The the city of Fort Mcmurray has been evacuated, and much of it has now been destroyed! This is apparently the largest disaster EVER in Canada. There have been more than 85,000 people evacuated, many of whom will not have a place to go back to when this horrible fire is over. We have had a very hot, dry spring this year, which is, of course, the main reason for how rapidly this has spread. Some of the video coming from evacuees has been shocking to watch. I will try to add a link for this, but if it doesn't work, just google Fort Mcmurray Fire, and see for yourself. I am so proud of how my province has reacted to this issue, with donations and volunteers, as well as communities coming together to help those affected. We sure could use some Devine intervention. http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/06/americas/fort-mcmurray-fire-canada/ Dale
  9. Thanks for updating us, Ed. I am glad to hear from you. Hang in there, eventually this will be behind you! Dale.
  10. Wow! Like everyone here, Ed, I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. Please know that we, your VR family, are thinking of you. Stay strong. Dale.
  11. I very sorry for your loss, Mrs. V. How quickly life can turn on us. My father had that same diagnosis last year and passed away a few months later. Dale.
  12. That was truly frightening. You just never know what might ruin your day.
  13. Scott, There may come a day when you have to put Tweeks down, as she is getting a little long in the tooth, and perhaps not in the best of health (don't tell her I said that), and when that day comes, a pretty bike like that sitting in the garage just might pick up your spirits. I like it! Dale.
  14. Thanks for all the replays, folks. It seems we are all over the map on this one. Canadian prices seem higher, no doubt. I am possibly the least mechanically inclined people on this forum, so even though I do have a jack and the stand that Ed mentioned, it is beyond my comfort zone to take the wheels off myself. I will certainly check around at local shops and see f someone is more reasonable, but I have my doubts.
  15. Hi all. I have a quick question for those of you that have had there tires replaced on a 2nd gen RSV. I need tires soon, so this past weekend I went to the dealership to get some ideas on price. They quoted me about $350 over and above the price of the tires just for the install ! The guy at the service counter said that they need to take off the bags and exhaust to get the rear tire off, which is part of the reason for this inflated price. Does that seem accurate to you, or am I being bent over, so to speak? Thanks in advance. Dale
  16. They also come in 10's, apparently, Rick. Congrats. Dale
  17. What a great thread this is. It is fun reading through your adventure , JF. It's too bad you got sick, hopefully that doesn't happen again. When you said you were leaving on this trip in March, I thought you were crazy. After seeing your early pictures and reading the conditions you were riding in, I am now certain of it! Anyway, stay safe and keep the updates coming. Dale.
  18. Well, how did it go? Did you get your new equipment yesterday?
  19. If Puc starts calling you "Ground Hugger", he might be messin' with your head. Be warned!
  20. Oooooo, that's gotta hurt. I'm still expecting we will see something like that in Edmonton before this winter is through. So far we have been blessed with a very mild winter. It got to the mid teens here yesterday, and if I could have gotten the bike out of the garage safely yesterday, I would have gone for a cruise, but there is still ice in the back lane.
  21. Wow, you guys have had a challenging year or so, Puc. I hope the future looks brighter for you and Tippy health wise. Dale.
  22. Wow, that sounds like fun, but a wee bit early in the year. Around these parts we are lucky to be rid of the snow in April. Ride safe.
  23. Now THAT was a story!! Very funny, Puc, thanks for sharing. Dale.
  24. Wow! What a beauty. I'm sure he will enjoy his new car immensely. Dale.
  25. Hi , Larry. I too am glad that this was not a more serious issue for you. As we age, life seems a bit more finite, and therefore becomes just a bit more precious. We just don't know what is in store for us. I am in your age bracket, and can relate to the mid life crisis you mentioned. A few years ago, I was almost obsessed with these kind of negative thoughts, wondering when my time would be up. Thankfully, it doesn't bother me much anymore. This is one of the reasons why I bought my motorcycle after not having ridden for over 25 years. I loved riding when I was young, and figured that I may as well do something I enjoyed as much as possible while I am able. That, I think has helped my mental state the most. Cheers. Dale.
