  1. can't wait to see goldie at the 09 rally. it should be one heck of a bike show. lots of neat ideas will be there. what you did so far sounds great. my kind of modifications.
  2. my dad had an MGB GT back in 1974. i think it was around a 1964 or maybe a little later. he sold it to a very good friend of mine in 1974. it was in very good condition at the time and ran perfect. my friend called this morning and asked if i would like to have it back. he won't take any money. it has been sitting in his garage and not started since 1974. i don't think he ever drove it after he brought it home. all he has done is air up the tires. i am trying to decide whether it would be worth making a project out of, or worth the trouble to mess with. i told him to sell it but he insists that i have it cuz it was my dads car. i was thinking about trying to get it running and selling it and giving my friend part of the money. i don't know if i want to tackle a frame off restoration. does anyone know what this may be worth as is, or would anyone be interested in buying it from my friend. he lives in jerseyville illinois. bill ps. i am waiting for his call to verify the year and condition.
  3. i think it would be a great second bike. the big drawback would be the air cooling, big vibration at highway speed , and as was said passenger comfort. dragonrider and i both have v-star 1300's. you might want to check one of them out. very powerful, watercooled, balancer shaft for no vibration, sportbike like handling, but again not to passenger friendly. i love mine but the vtwins just ain't no venture. i had a warrior, basically the same motor as the strat and it did vibrate above 60mph.bill
  4. good luck with your medical situation, and glad you got a room. bill
  5. lewis, let me know how it does with the wind. looks interesting.
  6. i remembered. just got done putting the lights on. now i need some more. i came up with an extra plug on the kuryakyn adapters to plug some more into. it just dawned on me what a sales gimmick to sell more lights. it works.
  7. when lewis says senior member, he knows what he is talking about. :rotf:
  8. ones you gotta watch is those 1000 lb round bales.
  9. well got the heat on in the garage, and going to add some more lights to the wing. now if i can just remember where i parked my walker, so i can get out there. linda probably hid it again. she thinks that will keep me from runnin around on her.
  10. sorry mariner can't make it, but glad you got the room. see you there. bill

  12. were on the roll now. thanks for all the registrations so far. august and the 09 rally will be here before we know it. this will be a chance for some of you new folks to meet some really great people. i still meet more great people at every meet i go to. we don't care what you ride to get there, just get there. bill
  13. just, want to remind people to register as soon as you can for the 09 ar. rally at the hub, so we can start ordering t-hirts and get a count. not trying to pressure anyone, but trying to make it easy on cindy and give the folks who own the hub an idea what to expect for the final dinner that they are going to cater. thanks bill
  14. according to allanh, as of this morning there is a double room available at the hub. some one better grab it if you want to be where the action is. if anyone cancels a room, could you post it on here so some one else can get it. there will probably be a few cancelations in the future do to the economy or something else changing some ones plans. i will try to keep you posted on cancellatons if i find out about them. bill

  23. darn jay. your older than i thought. do they still make that crap.
  24. okay folks, my annual st. charles meet is just a little over a month and a half off. this is my third year and i have made it a little longer this year since it has been so much fun, and to give people time to come a farther distance. for details don has put a sticky under rides and rallies and meet and eats. i have listed motels and the meet agenda. if you want to bring friends that is fine. we don't care what they ride. all i ask is that you let me know how many to expect, so i can figure the dessert on thursday night and and food, soda, and beer for the barbeque on saturday after the big ride. i look forward to this every year and linda and i look forward to seeing you all. if you need more info don't hesitate to pm me. bill :clap2:
