  1. ya... I'll admit it... I put on my wife's thongs once ..... but that little flower on the top just didn't suit me! :rotf: :rotf:
  2. Don't route the nylon oil line too close to the exhaust! (why do I know this?) Wondering...has anyone used a copper line instead of the nylon one?

  4. Danged teknology!... it's supposed to make things better!
  5. Don (or anyone) ... dumb question... Did you tighten the adapter down on the head before you screwed in the adapter that comes with the kit (the one going between the "home-made" adapter and the sending unit) ...?? What kind of socket did you use? I measured them to be 7/8" and it looks like it should be a thin-walled 12 point and NOT a deep socket (I got a deep socket but it's too long but I don't have the other)

  7. Most 2nd gen owners will tell you that the best sounding exhaust on a 1st gen is what's coming from the one their trying to catch up to.... :witch_brew: Actually, the Jardine pipes are pretty good on the 1st gen. Had 'em on my '85.
  8. I couldn't help myself ... after reading all these posts (actually, it's an idea I had a while back when I removed the cassette) ... I JUST HAD TO go out and buy myself a set of gauges... Got these ones at Canadian Tire for $39.95 ... http://www.iequus.com/product_info.php?product_id=8100 Now, if ever I get my '87 out of my shop so my '06 can come back in, I just might HAVE TO tackle putting these gauges in!

  10. I was wondering...what that setup would look like if the mounting plate was turned the other way so that the rounded edges were at the top and the flat at the bottom??

  12. When I was a kid, I raced a Harley rider against my '87 down in Los Osos and Nina was on the back with me.... (heck, I'm still a kid)
  13. I had a problem with belt noise on a 92 Dodge Shadow with the 4cyl. Tried belt dressing... worked for about a day... replaced the belt ... few days later started squealing ... tried the belt dressing again... day later it was squealing. Removed tensioner and checked it... tried to see if there was any alignment issue... nada ... but I did eventually solve it ... the car belonged to my live-in g/f at the time... I broke up with her and moved out! never had to deal with that car again! :rotf:
  14. There is a posting somewhere that describes how to do this. I have a link to it on my home PC but I'm at work right now...maybe someone else will post the link for you.
  15. man!!... that's a very clean looking ride !
  16. apparently, it's a "hoax" http://www.hoax-slayer.com/world-record-piranha.shtml but, I wouldn't want to swim near that thing neither!
  17. Looks somewhat similar to this place ---> http://www.glacierhouse.com/ I know the folks who own this resort..I did a lot of computer work for them years ago and was onsite during the building of the place. I'll see if I can get a deal for us there as they are very "motorcycle-friendly" seeing as they used to run a motorcycle tour and rental operation and the guy used to be heavilly involved in off-road and dirt bike racing in europe years ago.
  18. Awesome...thanks Don ... that's the one I "stumbled across". I usually save the URL as a favorite but guess I missed that one.

  21. I've read every post in this thread but don't see anything regarding where and how, on the engine, you connect the 3 gauges. I recall stumbling across something one day but be danged ifn I can find it. Can someone point me? Thanks

  23. I wonder if Bing Crosby was ever told his whistling sounded like a marmot ! :sign20:
  24. seriously ... I doubt very much you'll have problems with Bears if you camp in Banff. Bears scare me too but I'd not hesitate to camp there ... I'd be more concerned about waking up to freezing temps and snow ... yes, even in summer LOL
  25. All Banff area hotels/motels are booked solid thru 2012 ... for alternate accommodations, see the listings for campgrounds.
