1. is the sky blue? in answer to your Q ... yes, it can.
2. What's going on today in "my town"??? This weekend and thru July 5th there is a Jazz/Blues festival happening in Vancouver... http://www.coastaljazz.ca/ My wife's daughter, who's a singer/songwriter/guitarist is appearing tonight as the lead act for another Jazz band. Not only that, yesterday she placed in the top ten in a singing competition sponsored by one of the radio stations. Finals are July 17th. She stands to win a $70,000 recording contract (not clear on the details of this). AND.... yesterday ....... we became GRANDPARENTS!! for the first time. My wife's son and his fiance` are new parents of a baby boy!!! The fun begins!
3. At 90, you shouldn't need to go to 3rd to pass... it should have enuf power in 4th. In fact, you should be able to roll it on from about 80 in 5th even. That won't strain your neck but it should pick up the speed pretty good. (just an fyi )
4. hopefully it wasn't a case of the blond who locked her car doors with the keys in the ignition but didn't realize that her passenger window was down.....
5. my first Venture was an '85... basically the same bike. Second gear had been repaired and the bike was in excellent condition, yet had quite a few miles on it. It was mine for 6 summers. Never let me down. I put well over 60,000 kilomters on it and sold it for more than I paid for it. I didn't do any major repairs to it while I had it ... just regular maintenance. It sold me on the Yamaha Venture line of bikes. I went on to buy an '87 which I rode for 3 years and now have an '06. What more can I say? ... not much out there that is better.
6. not only that but it would appear that it could become a bit "heated". Time to put this debate to rest.
7. Wife & I rode the Vision... nice ride, lots of power, easy to handle...basically a breeze. Too much wind buffeting for Nina regardless of how I adjusted the windscreen. Other thing was the passenger floorboards... too high up for Nina and ya can't do a thing about it. Oh yeah.... and it is U U U U U U U U U U gly!! just can't come to like the looks of it...yet in a weird way, I think it looks cool!! go figgure ...eh? Now, if I ever get the chance to test drive a Cross Country.... WOW that scoot is gorgeous!!!
8. :rotf:
9. heh ... so many times I've spoken those words.... hope it works for ya without any glitches!
10. Now that would have been a kewl movie to be an extra on ... My son woulda fit right in ... and he has worked as an extra on a few movies shot around here.
11. Yep ... H3lls Angels that is. Was watching this documentary about how they were infiltrated by an RCMP informer in Quebec. In several scenes there was a Midnight Venture either parked or rolling. Surprised me the first time I saw it as the scene flicked by so quick I thought I was seeing things... but sure enuf... it appeared in a few other scenes. Now, I know it was a documentary with actors but has anyone seen an RSV ridden by any of those guys??? Thought they were die-hard Hardleys.
12. I figure if Eck still had his RSV and not the Wing ... it would still be number 1 in all categories.
13. Remove 2 rubber nipples Remove 2 rubber tubes Hook up 4 Carb Sync tubes Turn 1 screw & watch carb sync tool - turn screw to make 2 sync indicators even Turn another screw - do the same as above Turn a 3rd screw to balance all 4 Remove Carb Sync tubes Reconnect original rubber tubes and nipples That's it ... you're done. Oh yeah, you will have to make a bit of an adjustment to the idle speed so that means turning another screw... whewwwww!!! You'll know when it may need syncing if it's running rough, backfiring or popping are also good indicators.
14. geeeesh... I didn't think it was THAT OBVIOUS!
15. absolutely NOBODY on this site has evil little minds ....... they're all BIG ones Those numbers might help someone who is deciding what kind of bike to buy, especially if they haven't been riding long and/or owned very many bikes...have limited knowledge of bikes, etc. Just another "tool" a person can use when making those decisions. One thing about that comparison is any numbers for 2010 bikes may be way off because how could they come up with anything close to accurate figures for such a short life-span.
16. I got a Carbtune from a member last winter (it was brand new). Paid less than $100. Used it once on my scoot and last night sync'd a buddies bike. Cost him a 6-pak of beer and a short trip to my place. Took me less than 15 minutes. I'd say I'm already ahead of the game by a 6-pak. Probably would have cost $100 at the stealer's. Those of you who've taken your scoot to a dealer for a sync ... what did it cost? (curious to know)
17. thanks Rick ... dunno what I'd do without ya ...
18. I have an LG Dare. I use it to make & receive phone calls and text messages (of which there are very few or both). I chose this phone for it's large touch screen. It's easy to see and use and it has a screen lockout which I like. It has all kinds of other gadgets and gizmos built into it... I don't use any of them nor do I care to... if all it did was allow me to send and receive phone calls, that would do me just fine. Buddy was over last evening and showed me his new I-pad ... kewl "gadget" ... I have no use for it. I remember when the rage was Blackberry ... same thing... who cares! I'd rather spend my bucks on booze and wimmen!! :rotf: Seriously tho, more safety chrome for the scoot would far outweigh spending money on technology gadgets .... heck, I don't even own one of those music thingamajigs ... what do they call them??.... iPod or something like that??
19. I went to that site, keyed in the two bikes I wanted to compare and GENERATED the results.... now, some days I'm drunk, and somedays I like monkeying around ... but I don't think I'm a drunk monkey....
20. I don't think so... it probably just costs more. Look at the Harley for example. It was the lowest which makes sense ... I mean, think of all the times a guy has to replace those parts that fell off... oh c'mon now guys... it's only in fun! Frankly, I'd have an Ultra if I could afford it.
21. I just did the comparison between the RSV & the Goldwing (non ABS model) .... above are the numbers for the Wing (in RED) next to your findings.
22. Technology...bahhhhh humbug!!! in 6 month's it will be out-dated!
23. I concur!
24. yes... us tekkies can do anything ... eventually!
