without seeing the parts or having part numbers to research it will be hard to give any real help, as Eck said in a previous post, but if the quick release parts you have are for a Royal Star model, most likely they are for a 2005 to 2010 Royal Star Tour DeLuxe, that is the only Royal model that I aware of that had quick release parts. Maybe that helps a little bit.

$18 Run/Brake LED light bar.
M61A1MECH replied to deepforkriver's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The manufacturer does have a web site, but they do not sell to the general public, they only sell to established buisness with tax number and such. I tried to buy from them direct before I started selling my plug and play light bar set ups, but had to go thru R&P Carriages on E-Bay, see the link in the previous reply. Here is a link to my ad on the classified section. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4943&title=run-2fbrake-2fturn-light-bar-for-2nd-gen-venture&cat=35 Here is a link to the manufacturer of the light bar http://www.tecniqinc.com/ -
I had a Utopia on my 98 for about 93,000 miles, I liked it so well it was the first accessory I put on my Venture when I got it, I would not ride without it. No need to cut the seats as long as you have stock seats, I am not sure about the after market seats. Only thing you have to do is chase out a couple holes to make them large enough to accept the mounting bolts as I recall.

Ron , I sent the instructions to you in an email on 3-14, glad you found the connectors, other than having to hunt for the connectors, how was the install? Hard easy anything I can improve on? Anyone doing this install can call me at the number on the invoice and buisness card. Thanks

Sir, I would be happy to sit with you and share an adult beverage one day, Thanks for the kind words and glad to hear that it all worked out as easy as I hoped it would. Ride safe

clock on RSV loses memory...sometimes
M61A1MECH replied to HalLootsinator's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Yes, on the Ventures, on the newer models like my 07 press and hold the select button for several seconds and it will bring up the clock, I think on th eolder models you may have to press both the select and reset. To set the clock once you are in that mode , press and hold both select and reset for a few seconds until the display flashes, then press the reset until that segment reads what you want, press select and the other segment flashes, press the reset utoon untill that segment reads what you want then press select abd you are done. Go to this article in the tech section, http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37353 You can thread an old spark plug into the threaded insert and pull the plugs out, yes coolant will come in rapid fashion when you pull the plugs.

Why does the resistor defeat the purpose of using LEDS? The only time you need resistors for LEDs is if you use them to replace the turn signals, the resistor just adds the load that the flasher needs to flash at the correct speed. You do not need resistors for brake lights or running lights that are changed to LEDs from incandesent. If you are trying to reduce the electrical draw on your system by installing LED lights that is fine, and it works, but if you do not have enought safety margin in the system to handle the short term load that is on the system when the blinkers are on then you have to much load on the system. The main reason many folks change to LEDs is because they are brighter than the stock bulbs like in the case of the signal dynamics 100 LED tail light/Brake light it packs a lot more light output into the same space and has better coverage. For $11.00 they worth trying.

Yeah, after they cleared all the cassette decks out of the warehouse when they stopped production on the Venture , they found all these old bikes had been stored under the cassette decks.

Yes, but if the trailer wiring is set up for a 5 wire system you will have to choose to use the left and right segments as brake or turn signals. If the trailer wiring is set up for 5 wire system then you should be able to use the left and right segments as turns and brake.

Ok Guys time to check your nuts!
M61A1MECH replied to M61A1MECH's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Dion, That is exactly what I was experiencing, went away when I got the acorn nut tight. Checked the lock nuts underneath they are still tight. You probably have either the bearing lock nuts underneath or the acorn nut loose, would be my guess. FYI, The torque for the acorn nut is 94 ftlbs according the the manual. -
shmily, I did not receive an email from you , I will need to order the light bar, that will take a few days. Resend your email with mailing address to stevemarilyn@hotmail.com , let me know if you want the 5 tag wires or not.

YUP I am going to go over the front end as soon as I can some time to get up[ on the jack. -
No not those:no-no-no: Had started to notice a slight clunk when ever I hit a small bump and when I would come to a complete stop, not really a noise as much as a feeling that something in the handlebars or triple tree was loose. Checked a few things and did not find anything abnormal, until today on a medium length ride it seemed to be getting worse as the day went on. I stoped for gas and for who knows why I reached down and gave the acorn nut in the midle of the triple tree a twist in the loosening direction and it spun about a half a turn . Snugged it back up with my fingers and looked to see what I had in the tool kit that could tighten it up sme more, no luck. So a carefully motor down the road watching he nut as much as I was watching the road until I find an ACE hardware store, they let me carry wrenches in and out of the store until I found the right one a 28mm. Tightened it up pretty snug and bought the wrench. Problem solved no more clunk or bump, now just need to check the torque spec and see if I have it tight enough. So I suggest that eveybody that reads this should go check their nuts.

Plug and play for any Royal Star Venture from 99 to 2013. I have one more set made up, I shipped the first one to Keysrider yesterday. It is $47.00 plus shipping, to NY it was $7.00, expect all lower 48 to be similar, if you want the extra 5 tag wires for adding trailer hook up or more lights later that is $5.00 more.

Exhaust Header pipes
M61A1MECH replied to Reaney in NH's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Yamaha started with the 4 into 2 pipe set up I believe in 1997 on the first Tour DeLuxe, they had 4 into 2 set ups available for the Royal Star Tour DeLuxe and Royal Star Tour Classic II from 1998 to 2001 when the Royal Star was dropped. Also all Royal Star Venture models from 1999 to 2013 have 4 into 2 as do all Venture based Tour DeLuxe from 2005 to 2010. There is a slight difference in how the mufflers are fastened to the 1997 to 2001 Royal Star bag supports verse how all 1999 to 2013 Venture based mufflers are attached to the supports, but anything is possible if you make an adapter. -
If it is not a 4 wire my diode set up will not work.
