It understandable with the economy the way it is, we just had more layoffs at our plant and its getting close to me, only 6 people less senior than me left. I agree, leaving early Sat morining from Atlanta and trying to get there by noon is sometimes tough, thats what I did the last 2 times and was late on both occasions, so I will leave after work on Friday and get there in plenty of time. -

Hey, whatever we get will be great, with Squidley's yours and Vogels, it ought to be really nice, and remember I have over $700.00 from the St. Jude Auctions I had, with a little help from Barend and his 1st Gen parts. It will be really great to get back to St. Jude, they have a new addition to show us funded by Chili's. I will be getting there Friday afternoon, how abut you............... -
Most of the riders in our motorcycle ministry ride Harley's, and they wont buy any other brand of tire because they cant get them with Harley Davidson on them............Just goes to show you what is most important to them!!

Just got off the phone with Virgina Scott at St. Jude Children's Hospital and we are scheduled for our tour for Sept. 12, 2009. If there is any change to this date I will know in a week or two, so dont make any reservations or vacation plans yet, till I get a confirmation from St. Jude. I have set the time of the tour fo 1:00 pm, that will give us time to have lunch at the Flying J Truck Stop before heading over to St. Jude. As in the past we will meet up at the Flying J Truck Stop in W. Memphis, Ark, which is just 5 minutes away from the hospital. I plan on getting there Friday evening and staying over so I can be there early, as I have been a last minute arrival for the last 2 trying to get there on Saturday. I will be posting more details later. Also on that note, I discussed the Teddy Bear gifts for the Kids at St. Jude and they do not accept them for sanitary reasons, even the hypoallergenic ones, because of the stuffing and such, so if you have them, you might want to present them to a local chairity, fire dept, police dept, or hosptial. I will be downloading a list from St. Jude that shows what items are acceptable as gifts. That was one of the best surprises I have had in a long time.........it was really good to see Jeff and take one last very short ride, we even swapped bikes on that one, wish I could have been here to see him off this morning but work calls............If you need anything or want to talk please dont hesitate to call, Charlene would love to hear from you.

Had a surprise visit from Muffinman yesterday afternoon, he stopped by on his way to Ft. Benning along with Blackjack, Wingman, and His wife. We comensurated for a while and then had a grand meal of Jambalaya, green beans, French bread garlic toast and chocalate cream pie for desert. As most of you know, Jeff is heading for Iraq to work for Uncle Obama for a year so it just made sense that since we are on the way, he stopped here for an overnite visit. Really gonna miss seeing the guy for a year and not seeing him post as often as he does, but I am sure Mini will keep us posted on his goings on. Those guys and gals over there are in for a real treat and one heck of a mechanic, cause if he is as good with planes and helicopters as he is with 1st Gens, they got the best mechanic around. I am sure everyone appreciates his sacrifice helping out like this, Thanks Jeff, your one of a kind. I know Mini is going to have a tuff time without Jeff around, so Mini if you need to talk to someone or lean on, you gots lotsa :bighug:family here so dont be shy, we are here for you. It was a nice little meet and eat and the last one we will have with the Muffinman for some time...........but when he comes home, we will have a grand one, I am sure..............:banana:

One of our members, RoyalStarjac, has volunteered to lead a ride on Friday eveing to a free concert series. So we will be enjoying some live music on Friday nite , beats sitting in the cabin with nothing to do.................of course I dont think anybody had that problem last time...to bad the park ranger had to spoil it for us. https://www.folkschool.org/event.php...=1&event_id=92

Ok folks. it is less that 30 days to Vogel, I have a small problem and I really need those that are attending to help me, especially if you havent registered or did an RSVP on the calendar, I need a better idea on how many people are coming, because I have to order the t-shirts no later than Friday of this week, and right now I only have 13 registrations confirmed, I know a lot of people said they are coming and will register late, but if I go by the count that I have now, and I order that many plus a few extra, I will not have enough to go around, and if I go ahead an order 100 which is what I did last year and only 50-60 show, I am going to go in the hole for shirts and patches. I dont need to do that because all the profits from these shirts go to the "KIDS" at St. Jude Childrens Hospital. We want to present them with a really nice check again this year from Vogel. So PLEASE, if you plan on coming please let me know what size and color you want, there are 2 colors available, they are purple and kelly green........... This only applies to you if you havent registered or RSVP.
