  1. I'm stuck at work with an overheating 97 Tour Classic. The top drain plug p/n 1AA-12561-00-00 has broken off in the radiator and leaks coolant. The poor thing overheats after only a couple of miles and I don't have the tools to remove it with me so I'll be taking a few breaks on the ride home. I would like to replace it with something other than the stock plastic one. Does anyone know the size and thread of what's there so I can can find brass fitting to put in its place?
  2. I don't know the title but the tune for the song is "Taps" that a bugler plays at the end of the day.
  3. I've got a Kawasaki Vulcan with a two-up Mustang which is way more comfortable that their stock seat, a Superglide with the stock Harley seat...Ugh, in town only, and a Yamaha/Corbin on my TC. I can do way more miles on the TC/Corbin combo than on the Vulcan/Mustang pair. My daddy always said son, "There's a bucket for every seat". I think you just have to set your bucket on every seat til you find the one that fits.
  4. Attributed to the "Houston Herald" March 5, 2009 Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston , Texas Was Arrested, Jailed, And Charged With Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back > As He Was Running Away With Her Purse. The Following Monday Morning, The Woman Was Called In Front Of The Arraignment Judge, Sworn In, And Asked To Explain Her Actions. The Woman Replied, "I Was Standing At The Corner Bus Stop For About 15 Minutes, Waiting For The Bus To Take Me Home After Work. I Am A Waitress At A Local Cafe... I Was There Alone, So I Had My Right Hand On My Pistol, That Was In My Purse, That Was Hung Over My Left Shoulder. All Of A Sudden I Was Being Spun Around Hard To My Left. As I Caught My Balance, I Saw A Man Running Away From Me With My Purse. I Looked Down At My Right Hand And I Saw That My Fingers Were Wrapped Tightly Around My Pistol. The Next Thing I Remember Is Saying Out Loud, "No Way Punk! Your Not Stealing My Pay Check And Tips." ~ I Raised My Right Hand, Pointed My Pistol At The Man Running Away From Me With My Purse, And Squeezed The Trigger Of My Pistol 6 Times! ~ When Asked By The Arraignment Judge, "Why Did You Shoot The Man 6 Times? ~ The Woman Replied Under Oath: "Because, When I Pulled The Trigger The 7th Time, It Only Went Click." The Woman Was Acquitted Of All Charges. She Was Back At Work, At The Cafe, The Next Day! ...If it isn't true, it ought to be! Now That's Gun Control!

    Help!!

You can safely trap and remove a skunk with a live trap. Use canned cat food or peanut butter for bait, realizing that you might catch the neighbors cat or dog or raccoon with the cat food or catch a groundhog with the peanut butter. Skunks won't spray anything but an animal and won't spray in an enclosed space where they might get themselves. So, to move the trap and remove the skunk to a remote area without getting sprayed, approach the trap while holding a sheet or very large beach towel in front, between yourself and the skunk. The little bugger won't recognize you and won't spray. When you reach the trap just drop the sheet to cover the trap. You may then pick up the trap and move it to the release site. When opening the trap stand above and behind it and only uncover the door, then back away. The skunk will hightail it right out of there. I've never been sprayed using this method.

    Help!!

Ok, this is a little embarrassing but I spent several years as an animal control officer and have suffered my fair share of dealing with the south end of a north bound skunk. There is a product I guarantee to remove skunk smell from people, pets or anything else you can wash. That product is massingil douche powder. Mix according to directions and wash the affected person, dog or add it to the wash with sprayed clothes. I always kept some handy cause you never knew. Other brands may work as well but I haven't tried them so your mileage may vary.
  9. Asking this question among computer people is like asking about which is the best oil or tire among motorcycle people. There are as many opinions as there are..... people. For myself, we are a Dell shop at work and I can't speak badly of them on the commercial/educational side but they seem to be a little overpriced on the consumer side. At home I run two laptops from Acer America and one from Toshiba and couldn't be happier with the value to price ratio. Lenovo also has some good offerings. Apple is always greate but pricy. Unless you want a netbook (small, very small) you might have to add another $100 to your price point for something you'll be happy with for a few years. To see what's out there feature/value wise check online at newegg or tigerdirect and read the customer reviews for the equipment you are considering.
  10. Always practice what you preach. Phoenix man killed in gun-safety demo Arizona Daily Star Tucson, Arizona | Published: 05.18.2009 A 26-year-old Phoenix man accidentally killed himself early Sunday while explaining gun safety to two Sierra Vista residents. Samuel Benally Jr. was at an apartment on West Tacoma Street when he said guns should be kept unloaded because people could point them at their heads, said Sierra Vista police Sgt. Brett Mitchell. Benally then demonstrated by putting his own 9mm Ruger, which he believed to be unloaded, to his head and firing it, Mitchell said. Benally was flown to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Mitchell said. An investigation is ongoing, but police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved, Mitchell said. 12. I live in Lincoln, about 30 miles from Fayetteville. Of course we'll be going to BBBQ, do every year. The weather is supposed to be fantastic for riding and we'll be making the best of it. Look for a 97 black/mustard clasic. Lets ride!
  13. For the past several years I've been very happy with a pair of OTG, Over-the-Glasses, scratch resistant lexan safety glasses by Uvex. They completely cover my prescription glasses, wrap around the sides and have enough adjustments to fit most anyone. The ear pieces are padded and they have a brow ridge that keeps sweat out of my eyes. The lenses are easily changed, I have two, dark smoke for day and amber for night riding. They can usually be found on ebay and best of all they are always under $15.
  14. Shooting in Butte, Montana Butte, Montana November 5, 2007 Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest. Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........an 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself......against two murderous, illegal immigrants.......and she wins, she is still alive. Now that is Gun Control ! Thought for the day: Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"
  15. My 97 TC at 55K miles, has developed an annoyance! Under hard acceleration in 5th the clutch slips. Different oil types, full synthetic, half synthetic and dino don't make any difference. I understand there is a clutch spring replacement kit available that corrects yamma momma's design deficiency in this area. Does anyone have experience with this? Also, whats the general concensus concerning the type of clutch plates to get to replace what's there. This looks to be a winter project to keep my beast happily on the road. Thanks :confused24:
