Hey Mike,

Sorry I missed it but I was at the SCRC St Jude's ride. Should have been a longer weekend! I did win the dice game though so it turned out fine. Couple pics from Clinton, Mo. too.

I'm glad I am going to "the great white north" Heck it's closer to me than Colorado was last year. Looking forward to seeing some old and new faces this year!

Hey Reiny, Thanks for going to all the effort in putting this on. I found out at the first Eureka Springs Rally how hard it is. I guess I'm one of the few to register too But wouldn't miss it for the world. Looking forward to seeing all who show up!

I got a room at the Thrift Motel, just right down the street from Bingeman's. Sharing with Rocket (at least thats the plan) So I'll be seeing you there. It was a bit of trouble to get through but thanks to HalRSV99 it got accomplished.

I've been trying to contact the Victoria motel http://www.victoriamotel.com/ , called, emailed and no response. looks to be right down the road from Bingemans and cheap if you get two beds and share the room. Anyone know anything about them or what's up with them? I want to find someone to room with as I'm kind of cheap .

Cindy, I was able to catch a couple hour nap to... uhhh... fortify myself for the rest of the day. At least you know I'm getting back to normal

Bill, you have the wrong pizza place, trust me! Lonna has her head on straight. We may have to head to Talayna's to show you what a good pizza is! Freebird, I totally agree with you about letting the standards slip, we may have to have a double secret probation meeting to discuss this! Cindy, I love you no matter what. I will try to overlook the fact that you don't like Mexican food. It will be tough but I'll try.
-
You mean there is something besides Mexican? Sure would love to see you guys again, and remember I have Dale's cooler rack here too. Storage fee is adding up daily!

Sorry to hear about this my friend. He is in a better place.

Thanks for that Charlie.

What gas mileage do you get ?
Wrongway replied to greg_in_london's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Greg, I too was referring to US gallons. Also, my 1st gen speedo was spot on with the GPS. 2nd gen is 10% off from about 30-115 (indicated riding from Denver to Colorado Springs) Really officer, I was just keeping up with traffic on I-25! I kept the carbs in sync and I repaired my 1st gen diaphragms after about a year of owning it. Didn't do a thing for the mileage but sure helped the WHEEEEE factor! I don't know a darn thing about carbs though so I don't know if there was anything else going on with them. I was always frustrated hearing of the 45-50 US mpg that others got. During a group ride, I usually took the most fuel of everybody. Had to start looking for a gas station at 100 miles and usually by 140 I was running on fumes. Love the bigger tank of the 2nd gen (which delivered 42 US mpg today!) -

On my '90, I got as low as 28, which occurred the first day I had it, blasting down the highway home . I was sure I had made a mistake! :mo money:I went about 300 miles at probably 85mph for most of the ride home. I did get as high as 41 when flower sniffin'. My routine mpg though was about 35-37 in daily use. For my '04 I usually get 38-40 in regular use and have seen 44/45 or so. Got as low as 30 when flying the highways to Colorado last year across the dead spaces of Nebraska and Kansas, but we were going at a fairly good clip then too. -
Jay, it was my pleasure to give you another opportunity to see me! :rotf:Had a good time though a short one. Next time we'll try to find out about the detour BEFORE we take it. Did get in some great little back roads though on the way to lunch . See you soon brother.

Years from now there will be tales told of the mythical "Freebird" . Does he really exist or is he just a set of tall tales told around the campfire? Is it really possible that one man could set up such a site, not to mention the great group of folks that have come around to share their camaraderie? Is he the reincarnation of Paul Bunyan riding his great silver RSV righting wrongs and saving kittens out of trees? Nah...just a great friend and a guy with a wonderful vision. Thanks Don!

I PM'd Bill last night to see if we could mess with my bike some. He had some free time this morning so I took a putt over there. We (well he as all I did was watch) removed the AIS and then tightened the steering head bearings. The good news is no more cannon-like backfires and I actually have better handling now. It appears that the bearings were pretty loose, but it was a breeze to tighten them up. No more front end shimmy in turns . So, thanks again Bill, I appreciate all the help. That's what this site is all about. Helping each other out. What a great bunch.

Well, I was with Lowell on the way to the first Vogel and we stopped to eat. I forgot and left the key on an the battery died. We got some cables and tried to charge off of Lowell's bike. I'm not exactly sure what happened at that point but we did get it started. I ran down the highway a few miles and realized that I was losing juice rapidly. Lowell was behind me and yelled over the cb that my bike was smoking. We pulled over and sure enough the regulator was MELTED! Long story short, I replaced the regulator and that still didn't do it so I got the new stator (Rick's Stators) and all was good. I'm not electrically inclined at all so I'm not really sure what the heck happened but I do know it was my stupidity I guess that did it (leaving ign. on) . It did give us a great story for Vogel as well as the swapping two batteries all weekend long and riding home without any electrics at all ! Maybe Lowell can jump in here and give us a clue as to why it happened.

John, I tell you that the 2004 has been great ! Went on a 5200 mile trip last year to the Colorado rally then up to British Columbia and across Canada and back. I never had one worry the whole time. And still no whine or chirp or anything. It has been a wonderful experience, just hop on and ride!

I have a magellan 2200T and I love it. Easy to use, good signal pickup, good screen, WATERPROOF, and fairly cheap too.
