  1. Bobbyduck can I ask where you got your avon and the price? I'm going to need a new avon this summer for the rear. Just wondering if there's a good retailer in Alberta or if you got it out province. Thanks Conrad
  2. StarRider I also used the Eguus gauges. It took a good 5 to 7 minutes in the garage at a hi idle before the temp gauge started working. The motor was getting quite warm to the touch, and I was thinking ah man I kinked the tube. It seemed like one second it wasn't working and the next it was about 1/3 of the way up. Conrad
  3. If you can't find someone close by to do a carb sync for you. I've got a tach (thanks dingy) and carb sticks I could sure help you out when it warms up a little more. Conrad
  4. Old&slow If you happen to be going to Camrose some time, give me a yell on your way through Stettler. I'm an hour south of Scotty. How did you make out on your other thread, with the howl and vibration. Conrad
  5. Dave I've got a set of Avon Venoms WWW that I put on last year, have got 13000km on so far. Should be good for a while yet. I've got a Diamond R back rest that I like, alot of guys here have bought Utopia as well. And I also have a set of stock road king mufflers that give a little more growl then RSV mufflers, but don't piss off the neighbours. Conrad
  6. And I was whining at $ 784 for full coverage threw co-operators, here in Alberta. 1000000 liability, 500 deductable. How much is PL&PD for you? For me it's $79. Collision + comprehensive are high. Conrad
  7. SilvrT I also did the same thing. I'm pretty tall in the saddle ( 6' 6'') and I was just looking over the edge with a stock shield. So I cut mine done an inch, then the buffeting drove me nuts. I ordered a stock height clearview with a vent, thinking I was getting the buffeting from the air coming back around from behind. Anyway if the shield is a little to high I might put on a set of leveling links. They're suppost to kick your butt up about an inch. Conrad
  8. Rocket You're only a little more then a stones throw away from me. Should get together for a java maybe. PM me if you'd like and we can exchange phone numbers. Conrad
  9. I was digging through the junk box the other day. Found a set of caliper covers off my old 83 VR. Yes:banana: more safety chrome!! Where can I put them. Wouldn't fit on the front. But on the back they make a nice license plate frame. Added a couple of lights and oblonged the holes to make them fit. I still have the old style Alberta plate (huge) so I don't know if it will work with smaller plates. But this should get the old gears turning.
  10. I could have walked to your place and back quicker. The tachs you sent came in good time. It seems the bigger the package the quicker it goes through customs, they get tired of tripping over it. Ordered a windshield came in a week. Conrad
  11. Finally got my wrench in the mail. Canada Post said the sled dog had a lame paw. It will work very nicely. Thanks a million Gary. Conrad
