  1. UHH, maybe moisture. You do have lots of that in your beautiful country and lots of it comes from the ocean with salt, why only the Y connector...I have no idea.
  2. My very good friend is in Sturgis with the local NC dealer and three other people. He called me within the last hour and has ordered the Chieftain. He said that it is a good possibility of a trunk coming soon as an accessory and a larger pillon seat. One can only dream. I love the looks and the electronics.
  3. For all but the first set of tires on my 02 RSMV, I have run Dunlop D404's. Yes they don't get the greatest mileage but I change my own and cost per mile is low. They have always handled well in all weather conditions. Did I mention that I have 184,000 miles on this machine?
  4. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that:
  5. Does the trike have Eazy Steer. That is a raked front fork that Hannigan sells. If so, then no you don't need a smaller tire on front.
  6. I wired my trailer so I could use the 5 wire setup off my 02 Venture. I added two amber turn signals to the trailer and used the original red tail/stop/turn lights as tail/stop only. Very easy set up and very quick. Only had to run one wire back for stop.
  7. Actually I had a Sportster in the late 60's which was used, and I had a 62 Duo Glide which was used, and then a 67 Electra Glide also used. Now granted they were older bikes but they liked to leave oil marks everywhere. The Sturgis was a fantastic machine but it got totaled. The Ultra was a bike from hell and I see no reason to repeat this era in my life. My 02 Venture does everything I need and it always runs. And yes, because the Ultra broke down so much I made my decision. Life is too short!
  8. I started riding two wheels in 1959 and have owned HD's over the years, The first new HD was an 82 Sturgis and I loved it. In 1999 I ordered a 2000 Ultra Classic. It was beautiful, blue and silver, and had the 96 ci engine. After $5000 in accessories and 8000 miles of being broke down five times on the side of the road, I gave up and sold it. Never again.
  9. I did this waaayyy back in 2001 and never had second thoughts about it.
  10. Being a cancer survivor of thirty years now, I understand. I get all my checkups and continue to wonder if it will show up again. My prayers are heaven bound for you.
  11. All Wix/NAPA for me. Use them in all my machines.
  12. The new Indian comes in a full dress with hard bags. They will be out by the end of this month. The largest Indian dealer is in Charlotte and I have been invited to a demo weekend in August. He knows I love the Victory CC and says that I will love the new Indian equally for the same money. Got my attention. Sorry that Yamaha has forced us have to look elsewhere. I will not get rid of Sylvester even if I buy another bike. Too much of a relationship to let him go. Besides he will outlast me anyway.
  13. You know the censors are watching you, don't you?
  14. Kind of stupid to me.
  15. I have SYLVSTR on my 02 Midnight.
  16. :sign yeah that:
  17. I don't believe that a progressive shock works on a 2nd gen. Venture. They did make one for the 96-2001 Royal Star.
  18. Got into town yesterday after a few weeks on the road. Good friend called today and told me he sold his Black Cherry Venture. I would have bought it but didn't know he was selling. It had a PCW 1500 cc engine and V-max rear. Think I will go kick an anvil.
  19. Yes, definitely go with the AGM and a trickle charger. I replaced my original Yuasa from my 02 Venture after seven years. I always kept it on a charger when in the garage. The Deka I bought from Skydok a couple years ago, is a superb battery with great cranking power, but again I keep it on the charger when at home.
  20. My 2002 Midnight Venture is over 180k miles and I have never had a problem. No rear shock failure or any of the other problems I have read about. Good maintenance is important.
  21. You may want to think about leveling links. Much better handling at slower speeds. That is if you have legs long enough for it. Makes about a 3/4 inch longer leg reach over stock.
  22. I'd be calling Hannigan. Dave Hannigan is a great guy and wants customers to be satisfied.
  23. I wish I could help you but your bike is too old for my knowledge. Hell, the 2002 I have is too old for my knowledge.
  24. I have the diaphragm spring and it has worked wonders for five years. No slipping and good acceleration. This is the same that skydock provides. You can go with the Barnett but....
