  1. :clap2::clap2: And I hope you have many more grandchildren!
  2. That is the best ten points I have seen for old bikers. Keep on keeping on Puc, I hope and pray for the best for you.
  3. Well there you go, 52year old memories clouded with info put in the memory banks. It still was fast.
  4. Ok, many memories. My Chevelle was a 64 and purchased before I was out of high school. Found it in a small dealership in Tecamah NE. It was a SS model in Palimar red with white interior and a 327/300HP and four speed. I was in love. Bought it in April 64 and drove it until mid Jun. that year. My father had a construction company with mechanics working there and one of them told me that this could be a fast car. Nothing else needed for me! Edelbrock two four manifold, twin Rochester Quad/Jet carbs, 3/4 race Thunderstick cam, and 370 posi rear. I lived through it but I could whip any GTO that came out that year.
  5. I am VERY GLAD and THANKFUL that you are through this step of your recovery. I have been watching the posts from afar and praying for you and Tippy. Be yourself and harass the staff.
  6. Sell it to me.:whistling:
  7. I know you will all think me as a crazy person, but I retired at 62 and hung around my farm (mini) for less than six months. I could not take the boredom and not knowing what to do outside my chores. Since then (2008) I have been working for my former employer but not in a management position. I love it and they love me. I will work as long as my knees keep bending and my heart keeps pumping.
  8. I tried retirement at 62 and learned quickly that I did not like it. No reason to get up no goals, etc. Now at 70 I am still with the company that I retired from. I told the CEO that I will stay as long as I can function.
  9. Not in my country, just balmy tropical weather. The Fool can't reach me! AND if he ever does, I will send the HEAT blaster back at him and his kind.
  10. I sent what I could, Old Goat. Dog has always been man's best friend and I could not live without one near me. Keep Gunner warm and content.
  11. Looks neat but pricey.
  12. To all who tried to help me and those that are just curious, I give you the following. The carbs had no varnish after (or before) an overnight soak. What was the problem is ethanol degradation of the fuel lines. Had to have the carbs professionally cleaned and reassembled. Thanks to all,

  14. I fooled my dogs by feeding them at 7:00 PM last night so this morning they were on regular 6:00 AM mess call.
  15. I don"t know about that Puc, the triumph 3cyl. was a Trident and the BSA was the Rocket 3. Now remember that I am old, senial, grumpy and just hard to get along with. So if you say I am wrong, then I will take my baseball back home and leave you with nothing to play with!
  16. Thank you. Easy enough to do.
  17. Yes the float is removed, but I see no way to remove the needle jet. There is a long (brass?) rod opposite the needle seat which looks like it may have some bearing on the jet. I followed the removal procedures in the manual, but I know there are mistake issues in some of the manual. What product do you recommend for soaking the carb after I get the jet out since that is the last thing to do.
  18. I have the carbs off my 02 RSMV. Started breakdown on one carb and all went well until removal of needle jet. Can anyone help me with this? Everything else on the carb clean/rebuild should go smooth after this. Thanks all,
  19. OK. Let me bring you up to speed on this thread. I have pulled the carbs and disassembled the rack down to four carbs. Started on the first one and have these questions, since you have all been so good about help. 1. How do I remove the needle jet? 2. Can I still get a hose joint for the fuel feed "T" pipes? (The O ring that goes into the carb, that the "T" fits into.) 3. The carb boots to the engine are cracked, not all the way through, is this something that is still available and is it the time to change them while into it this far if available?
  20. I am also saddened by your heart issues, and pray for your speedy recovery. This "getting old" sucks.
  21. WooHoo, good for your family. Love my grandchildren forever.
  22. The Berryman treatment was great and new plugs helped, but I will be going into the carbs to make all things right. Thanks for all your help.
  23. Put 7.5 oz. Berryman into tank and topped off with fresh gas. Ran long enough to fill carbs. Will put new plugs in by weekend and then run it hard. Thanks all, I will keep you posted.
  24. Got the NGK plugs yesterday. Tried cross reference to Champion and got 5 or 6 differrent numbers for Champion. Today...I got the flu or a cold so all can wait for now.
  25. That is what he told me, are you clairvoiant? Use cheap plugs he said .
