Taters is doing really good the last two days....she is moving her fingers and trying to wean herself from the pain pills...she still needs to take them for the pain, but is trying to go longer between them....last night was her first attempt to sleep in her bed, she made it thru most of the night but went onto the loveseat around 6 this morning..Every day I can see a little improvement and I think she is being a trooper putting up with the way I clean and cook and do the laundry...I dont think I meet her expectations at times, but she doesn't complain...when she does, I'll know she is feeling better...thanks again for all the pms asking about her....she sends her love to all who ask and is looking foward to seeing you all at MD this year.....ps...beer 30, she really wanted to play the night you called but, just wasn't up to it....but, she has your number in more than one way...lol...:rotf:

Hippies are alive and well...take a ride to ITHACA ,NY and visit the Commons...its an outdoor mall full of hemp shops etc...after Woodstock ,many hippies settled in the area because they had no funds to return home...Its a real trip to see 3 generations of hippies all at the same time...grand parents, children, and grandchildren still living the hippie lifestyle...then, throw in the college crowd and enjoy the mix...Great people watching town.....and a nice ride to central ny.....

Well after the 3rd attempt didn't work to reset Taters wrist, Taters was out of options... she now is bionic...Taters underwent surgery this afternoon and had 2 plates installed in her right wrist to keep everything in place...she shattered both bones just above the wrist.....all went well...she is home and in lala land....her arm is completely numb 7 hours after the operation and asked for something to eat...thats a good sign...I filled her perscripton on the way home knowing that she will want those pain pills during the night.....will stay home tomorrow with her to keep an eye on her.....thank you for the prayers as I'm sure someone upstairs was listening.... :amen:

Taters and I are on our way to the orthopedic secialist to try to reset her wrist for the third time....please say a short prayer for her...this is our last chance to get it right...the next step is surgery....will keep you informed of her progress.....she has been a good patient thus far ,but I know she has been in a lot of pain since her accident....hope they can set it and cast it today........

Taters is still asleep....The loritabs have kicked in......she sleeped well last night....I am lost without her.... I feel so very bad to see her in pain. Taters didn't want me to post, but what happened was that she was dusting 2 nights ago and tripped backwards and shattered her wrist...very bad break, the bones were set twice in two days ,but the're still not right..she will have to have surgery on the wrist this comming week...we had a group of ventureriders over yesterday for a pizza party and taters was looking foward to seeing everyone, but instead she spent the day with the orthopedic surgeon trying to reset the bones...thank you guys for helping out..Taters was so happy that we were able to go on even though she was not here most of the time...she hopes she didn't ruin the party and wanted to thank everyone for bringing desserts and such....I will keep everyone posted on her progress....

I totally agree with what you said.....the bad thing is that if you want to finish a hound , your at the mercy of what some judges want the direction of the breed to go..up here, the only dogs that were finished as champions were puppys bought from the judges... sad but very true...if you wanted to finish a dog, you bought a pup from a judge and followed the judge around the state until you had enough wins or points to make it a champion.....this made the judges pups more valuable than anyone elses...had to get out.....couldn't stand the politics anymore...saw some bad dogs with major faults finished as champions... very sad indeed..

Gun dog trials, small pack (6 to 12 dogs max)...was president of the PIONEER BEAGLE CLUB in LE ROY , NY for a few years...all of a sudden the judges wanted these wild uncontrollable a$$ rippers that ran off scent and cheated on each other and did a lot of me tooing.....now I dont want no walkie talkie but a nice smooth gun dog thats able to circle a rabbit at a good speed...breeders here bowed to the judges and started adding a lot of hare breeding into their bloodline...I refused to do so....politics played a big role into what was being breed up here ...a lot of our judges came from up north in hare country....I'm in cottontail country, and refuse to dilute my breeding program...had a lot of old yellow creek stock in my bloodlines....end of long story..........

been there, done that....we raised beagles for field trials, when we would have a litter of pups Taters would tell customers they were always sold and didn't have any more left.. she would always end up with a pup or two....after having seven dogs in my house , having only one is like having none at all....
