  1. Glad you are still with us,,, seems that the Creator has left you a bit more time,,, use it wisely,,, and heal fast. Prayers on the way, in thankfulness and blessings.
  2. If you turned on the key without starting the bike the carbs would stay cool and you would have a lot less evaporation out of the bowls. Usually a person would ride the bike, get the motor hot and then park it, and so the heat from the motor over the next time frame will evaporate the fuel in the carbs,,,, not so much when the engine is cool. Also, if it starts and runs fine, then you are getting fuel and that is what the pump is supposed to do, so it seems like it might be doing what it is supposed to do.
  3. It's about time,,,, missed you already!
  4. Do a total rebuild,, you will almost be there anyways,,, the extra cost and work will be negligible.
  5. Just can't figure out why she feeds you so well,,, what have you done in return??? Ok Ok, we don't want to know, because you would brag about it anyways. Congrats young fella and,,,,,,, Congrats, CONGRATS!!! to your wonderful wife. Hope you two can enjoy many more.:happy65:
  6. Best I could find was the JMCB2003. Antenna can be found local a lot cheaper though.
  7. Best remember to unhook the bike battery, or else it will drain the extra battery. Maybe better to charge the bike battery, unhook anything not needed and then run all day. Seems easier to me anyways.
  8. When I had my 85 it would do that all the time. I usually shut it off by putting the kickstand down, then turning off the key and lights. When I would go to start it, I would sit on the bike, turn the key, flip up the kickstand, and then push the starter, which would make the bike chuck forward a bit but mostly would settle back where it came from. Yep, it's the oil I think, and I always used a good brand of diesel oil.
  9. Happy birthday Old Man,,,, wishing you many more happy ones,,,, carry on!!

  17. Congrats,,, now get out and ride. It'll take some getting used to,,, and watch out for Bob, if you see him around don't let him ride it, he may forget where it came from.
  18. So what's this you tell me,,, you now going to upset more of the world?? we thought we had youtwo nicely put away in a corner and now you found a legal way to break out,,,, darn it anyways,, now it's watch your back again,,,, I think I'll stay home for now.
  19. Good to hear you made it safely. As per your own admission, you had outside help. Interesting that He was there to help, where many others left you stranded. Maybe you could have a longer conversation with Him, and a closer relationship. It really wouldn't hurt and He wouldn't have to rattle your cage again. JMT
  20. That's why the 85 was one of a kind,,,,, the most preferred.
  21. At first I thought that maybe we changed too early, but then a thought occurred to me,,, Safety!!! The Spyder still sits about the same height as a bike where the other two are quite a bit lower,,,, depending on how you measure it could be about a foot. That fact would cause you to be less seen and noticed, as well as putting your line of vision lower so you have less visual on the traffic around you. Seeing as we already have problems with cagers and other identifying us, I don't think buying one of these would be a move I would want to make...... Looks like fun though, but not on the freeway or city traffic,,,, no sir, no way.
  22. If you really want to get things done,,,,,,, DON'T RETIRE!!!!!!!!!, You'll be busier than you've ever been,,,,,, mind you,, you'll also have a bit of time to do things you wanted to do,,, but not all of them. Blessings brother,,, enjoy!
  23. Keep it coming Evan,,, you're doing almost as good as Ann.
  24. Get a drill bit that is almost the same size as the bore. Drill out the head of the screw and in doing so you will get a perfect center for a smaller bit. Go easy so as not to drill too deep and seeing as it's brass it won't take much. Once you have the centering, use a small bit to drill out the rest, again go easy. Once that is done an easy-out should finish the job.
  25. OK we'll let you stay now,,,, thanks for the pictures.:happy65:
