  1. Sold my 85 to my brother's brother-in-law's son-in law,,,,, ya I know,,,, but in a way he's family,,, right,, so I need to help out,,, well I would anyways. Everything worked perfect the day he picked it up,, but on the way home the taillights quit working. Dug into it and found the headlight fuse was cooked,,, yep, melted!, not blown,,, just melted, somebody had stuck a 15amp in there. Me??? would I??? Did an amp draw on that circuit with the headlight in, 6amps, but no taillight. Took the headlight out and it's 1 amp. Took out the CPU and found a cooked coil so replaced the CPU with a good looking one,,,, nothing different. Took the connector at the CPU apart and powered the blue\white wire, draw was 2amps and everything works. Lots of lights back there. Found a plastic 'relay' on the relay bank in front of the dash getting warm. It works (clicks) but what is it for? pink\red\rose connector. I think its the one on the far left of the bank as you sit on the bike, maybe the second from the left. I will read any info posted, but only if you're nice to me.
  2. :rotf: They didn't show it or tell us, but they probably make a model that has a brake in the passenger seat.
  3. Maybe not as fast a 2014 Spyder.....
  4. 2.4L engine,,, should spark some interest,,,, hey my wife would go for it,, it would get my head out of the way and she could crochet while we are out and about.
  5. Come-on Puc,,, get down there,, I bet they need some leadership as to how to rally!
  6. Could be either starter switch or kill switch. Nice that they are both in the same area. I would suggest to take both totally apart, clean them, make sure that they look like they work and then try it. Both will give the same problems. Fuel pump is shut off during starting, as well as when you push the kill switch.
  7. Yep,, I'm starting to worry about you Eck,,, Hey, I just had a birthday, does that mean I get to do the same things???? Rally doesn't start until tomorrow.
  8. Wow,,, I missed this one,, how did that happen???? too busy I guess working on a 1st gen. Soooooooooo. HAPPY BIRTHDAY big boy,, hope you can enjoy many more. :happy65:
  9. Just for the fun of it, start the engine with the air boxes off, and then when it's warmed squirt some carb cleaner or WD40 or propane into the intake. If this makes a difference it is most likely fuel related.
  10. I would then first take a look at the 5 wire plug on the left side of the bike, under the side cover to make sure all connections there are good. Squeeze is probably right but that connection has been known to create other problems, so maybe just an easy look.
  11. Well they got me,,,well maybe it was Marca that got me,,, didn't know a thing,,, never suspected that woman,,, boy, she was mum about the whole thing. We were,, well I was planning, on going for a Wednesday ride as usual on Wednesday night. Ben was here to fix his scoot, and so I 'talked' him into staying for the ride,,, he even had clean clothes with him,,,duhhhhh,,, and then Wayne and Robin show up with Evan in tow,,, and then Marca comes out to tell me she's not going riding????? oh well, what ever, women have mysterious ways so I didn't argue, just changed my plans: then I go solo,,,, well, then Midicat and his love show up in his cage for Pete's sake,, well if that floats your boat,, ride in your car!!!!!,, this whole thing is getting ridiculous,,, but things improve,,,Don and Nancy show up on their bike,, well at least somebody got some sense,,, you don't go bike riding in a car eh??? you need a bike,,,,, unless you go by the name Richard and are called Ground Hugger, then you also get to ride in a car,,,, wellllllllll hello,,, the lights are coming on!!!!! none of us is going on a ride this evening,, no sir!!! they is here to wish me happy birthday,,,as though it's the first one I've ever had,,,,, strange people,,, yesterday was my birthday......... Anybody got some pictures??? there was a whole lot of you here. Wayne & Robin, Wizard765 Hal & Gayle, HalRSV Anna Brad & Rhonda (with an H), BradT John & Diane, Relic Ben, Saddlebum Richard and Jeanette, Ground Hugger Dave & Bernie, Dogman Reiny, Reiny Rooster Evan, Evan Thomas & Sally, Midicat Bet I missed somebody,, but that doesn't mean you weren't here,,, it just means that I have a long term memory and someday in the future I'll remember. OH,,, I shouldn't forget Bob&Becky,,,, also cagers by the way,,,, who stopped by on Monday,, a day early, but here none the less. Thanks all,, for coming out,,, it sure made me feel young again with so many mobile friends and all younger than Anna,,,,and Anna is special!!!!

  18. Question is, I would sell,, but would you?
  19. Jealousy will get you no-where!
  20. Super glad that you're ok. Might I add another word? : When riding, there should be only one thing on your mind: Where am I going from here! That means every foot traveled could make a new immediate destination in the next short while.
  21. You may have lost a father, but have gained a great memory. Wishing blessings for you in your time of sorrow.
  22. You're really not nice. GOOD ONE!!!!
  23. Ain't you lucky,, you was born on the best day of the year. Happy Birthday!!!
  24. Move the trunk back about 2 inches and then cut a bit out of the rise in the back of the seat. Then cut about half of the rise from the back of the seat pan. To Move the trunk: Remove trunk, remove rack, get two pieces of flat bar, 2 inch by about 10" 1\8" thick. Drill holes in the flat bar to co-ordinate with the original bolt holes and have the flat bar extend back from there, catered in slightly so that you can drill 4 more holes to accommodate the mounts from the removed rack which you will bolt to the bars. You will need to make some bushings to put under the flat bars so that come up to level. I used 1\2" copper tubing. Once it's all together you can just mount the trunk back on.
