I seen one today that wasn't wanting to be seen. He was riding on the right side of the lane, going a little slower than traffic and it seemed that he felt he should not be getting in the way, so stayed to the side,,,,,,BAD MISTAKE!!

Marcarl replied to M61A1MECH's topic in Watering Hole
Seems everybody has their limit,,,, this guy is extending his. A new twist to the saying: A way to use use fuel and make noise without the benefit of horse power,,,,, this way you have MORE benefit of the noise. -
I vote for CONGAC and Chrome,,, everybody comments and stops to gaze on the congac, and it would make me feel right at home.

Question for those of us in Southern Ontario
Marcarl replied to stickhandle2's topic in Watering Hole
If you need a spot to work on a scoot, that might be able to be arranged, but storage is another story. Just talked to Dan at Brantford MC, they store your bike for $40 per month, includes winterizing and trickle charge the battery once per month. All under cover but not heated. -

You could look at renting a storage unit, or if you have room rent a 'box' put on site. -
Why postpone the inevitable, we\you know it's got to happen,, and soon probably. So plan it and then do it. Better to have a plan and get it done, when there is, and you, have time, rather than have an issue and then have to deal with it in a hurry or pinch. If you plan, you are in control, if you wait for fate,,,, well get ready,,,, it's kind of like riding! Plan your work \ then work your plan.

My son-in-law, Dean and his boys have 5 or 6 of them. They tear them done to the last bolt, rebuild them and then use them for pulling in the mini-tractor pulls. They have a large electrolysis tank for removing rust, repaint and add parts as needed. They sure were the item to have, and still are for those who know quality.

Check your air filter, see if you burned a hole in it.

I have 3- 2005 chevys,,, only the PU has a spare tire attached, the other spares are sitting in the garage where they'll be handy in case I might need one. I also have road insurance, so they can come to fix a flat if that should happen.

Is there something wrong with my eyes or are those trees out of sight? I'm falling off there just thinking about it!

Wow, glad you are able to type again and tell us of your experience. God gives us many experiences, sometimes we learn, other times we fail to listen or decide we know better. In the end we'll all end up facing eternity. We need to decide here, where we'll be there. I'm glad you heard and listened, now the fun will be to follow the lead.

Ouch, that hurts!!! need some prayer support??? You got it either way!

Starter Clutch Head Butt
Marcarl replied to Kc9ojn's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The small leak may be coming from the bottom bolt on the middle gear cover, it needs a brass washer on it. It may be worn out, or missing. Sometimes you can get away without it, mostly not. That bolt goes into the bottom of the gearcase so you can drain it. -
I'm not usually, but it pays to keep a good supply handy,,,, you never know who might show up.

I would guess that the 'back-fire' might have loosened a baffle plate in the collector, which then might have blocked the exhaust, causing your issue. Take a small hammer and tap the collector to see if you can make it rattle a bit.

I've been in the food business for some years,,, ya about 50 of them. It has always amazed me how the food industry can respond to the demands of the buying public by producing low sugar, low fat and low everything else and still keep the prices down. If they no longer add the fat there has to be less weight in the product, so with less weight it should sell for more money,,, so what is it that keeps the weight up to make the profits? How do they do that and still make money,, and if we demand something else tomorrow, that'll happen soon enough as well. What it has taught me: Beware, beware, beware!!!! If it's advertized as New, Healthy, Organic, All Natural, Low Fat, Low Sugar, and any other terminology that the manufactures would deem appropriate, it most likely isn't. We need to listen (and read) closely to what is said, not what they want us to think what was said. Even the 'fresh produce' off of the produce counter at the food store isn't necessarily what you might think you want it to be. By the proper (read: improper) use of chemicals, sugar substitutes and other ingredients, manufactures can actually produce a product that will read to be 100% healthy but is actually a lot worse than if you were to avoid the LOW Fat,(etc) foods altogether. So read the labels and define what is actually said, not what you are led to believe was said, and stay away from cheaper Private Label brands. Go with the national products,,, I think you might be better off.

Us Canadians would have a higher post count if we were to have more hot air to shoot around. But seeing as we have very little hot air to start with, we like to keep it for our own benefit. We also have important things to do, like shoveling, and plowing, and when the time allows we RIDE!

It all depends on what you try to put through that carb. Keeping the gas clean, and the air clean, you should not have to worry about your carbs, other than a sync every so often. It's also a good idea to drain the carbs if it's going to sit for an extended period of time. I bought my 85 @ 48km and finally did the carbs just before I sold it @ 140km. Others have had to do them somewhat sooner,,, like I said, it depends in what you put into them. Seafoam is a good idea, does some of the maintenance. And oh ya,,, keep the oil in the crankcase at 1\2 window or less, otherwise it'll get up in the air-box and then into the carbs of course.
