  1. Hey, it looks like you got a break. If you know there's a problem coming up, fix it before it gets there. You are fortunate to be at home, and now you also have a break from riding. Soon enough you be back in the saddle.
  2. Haven't been home since yesterday, so Im not sure,,,,, it looks somewhat familiar. I thought I left more tupperware on though..
  3. Just some things to make it our own. CB and intercom with GPS intergration. Camam wants about $1000 for the CB, intercom and it's not known for working all that well,,,,,, so I bought a Jmcb2003 to integrate into the system. Its taking a while, but think I can get it to work, much to the dismay of the local service manager. He said it couldnt be done.
  4. Carl & Marca will not be out this week. We have an appointment elsewhere. Also it's supposed to be raining,, and TryPod is all torn apart for an upgrade.
  5. First off do a complete wash of the engine so that you can more closely determine where the leak came from. Then let it sit at idle for 30 minutes. Check. If nothing shows take it for a short ride. Check. If nothing shows, go for a longer ride. Report back.
  6. Seen a house for sale the other day,,, maybe we'll have more shortly
  7. May you all be comforted by the One who can do it best.
  8. That's great,,, now just remember that you have to use it as well for it to work properly
  9. The splines look in good shape, just clean and lubricate, but use the right stuff or next time you'll need to replace the hub in the wheel,,,, yes, it'll wear that fast!!!
  10. Hey,, how come you have so many birthdays,,,,, Don't matter, glad you had another one, and wish you many more to come.
  11. Yep, I would say you need new bearings. The one you show is the needle bearing, only available from Yamaha. The other can be found a lot cheaper at you local bearing store. Change both and the seals. The bearings are held in place with a spacer between them. To get them out you need to use a long punch from the opposite side, one side goes easier than the other. Move the spacer over with the punch until you can get the punch on the bearing andd then drive it out. The bearing will be destroyed in the process. Once the one side is out, the other is easier. You may have to work at moving the spacer, there may be some crud holding it from wiggling it over. Also, shows us a picture of your spline, to make sure it's still serviceable.
  12. I'm not old enough,,, I guess.
  13. Ask the Master of all Wisdom to enlighten you as to what you should do, and then follow His guidance. After that, be at peace that He might know better than you, or your advisers.
  14. Just my luck,,, I won't make it to the bridge and then the deed will be gone.
  15. I'm not big enough to be a pain in the neck,, so it can't be me!!!
  16. Nah,,, Tweety is just sitting thinking,,, let me at him, let me at him,, or is it a her,, well in that case, she's not going!!!
  17. Wow,, that's a nice number,, now that you are used to each other, go have some fun!!
  18. Should have closed all the windows first,,, man you guys!
  19. It's dinner time, I can feel it,, and he's taking you out,,, I just know it. Happy Birthday little one, enjoy this one and many more to come.
  20. Cleaning the contacts would be very helpful, but seeing as dielectric grease is waht it is, it's not supposed to conduct electricity. For this reason it is advisable to clean the contacts, put them together and if you do want to use the grease, smear it on the outside of the connectors to keep the water out.
  21. We practiced that maneuver a number of times. We were riding an 85, with passenger floor boards. If Marca stayed put, feet on boards and hands on grab rails, she came out maybe a little dusty, but totally unscathed. When she tried some sort of rescue, either for herself or the bike, it always seemed to hurt somewhere. So she stays put, put!!!
  22. I have a stock windshield with wings,,, oh wait, you don't want her test riding a 1st gen, eh?? you might have to buy another scoot.
  23. Yep!!! he's just not quite sure yet as to how fast a Spyder is,,, I think:think:
  24. It could be a little pin that keeps the large bearings from spinning in the case. Take a look where the bearing seats in the case, if there is a hole there for a pin, you need to have a pin there.
  25. Thanks Ben. It's good to be a part of this family. I think I'll stick around for while. And yes, the ladies didn't seem to mind each others' company,, there were no scratch marks, the furniture was still in place, the neighbours were all still home and there were no black and whites parked on the street,,, guess it worked out OK!
