Puc!! you gonna have to swim this one on your own. The boss has already seen it and I'm quite sure there will be a major discussion coming up on the merits or non-merits of having you continue in your postings. It may not be out of the question to have you limited to just so many posts per day, or even how many words can be used in any relevant posts. The type of words might be more of an issue though, so if I were you, and you wanted to continue to be a then it might be well advised to stay away from name invoking and what might be called weather predictions.... at least for now.

I should have done a google search before I chose my avatar, but google wasn't available back then. I was dating a girl named Marca back when I was 18 or so, I dated lots of then opposite sex types and enjoyed them all I think, but this one became something special. While sitting at lunch one day, all by myself and being bored I wrote her name on the leg of my jeans, and then just naturally added rl. Now I realize that her name came first and then mine, but it didn't matter none, we matched, we married (her fault) and we had kids (her fault as well)but I had some input) and we are still living in the same house, sleep in the same bed and go places together. It was a match, and still is. So MarCarl has stuck! Known her for 48 years, married 46 years.

Marcarl replied to capymotiv's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I had rotten brakes on my 85, changed to SS lines and was really quite happy and comfortable, even with a trailer and my wife on the back, so a total load of about 600 lbs -

Dumping Coolant
Marcarl replied to philtrex's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
First make sure you didn't overfill the coolant bottle, or it will dump when hot. If the bottle is less than 1\2 then there is a possibility that you have a blown head gasket. Check for oil in the coolant, it will be floating on top. Check for air in the coolant, it will bubble up while running. Check for coolant in the oil, it will show up as a foamy substance. If none of the above issue are present, then I would suggest you go for another run and see if it's still happening or continues to happen. No need to fill the coolant, please don't, just ride to get it warm and see what happens. If the condition is no longer present, it's a good chance you overfilled it. -
'microaggression' - Soon you won't be able to say anything to anyone.
Marcarl replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
Guess we had better not call ourselves VentureRiders anymore,,, I mean, what would that do to the rest of the population,,,, that don't have the resources, training, desire to ride a Venture,,,, those poor folks would be left thinking that they somehow missed out on something,,,,,, wouldn't think of it, I wouldn't,,,,,NOT! -
Another electrical issue
Marcarl replied to Mcolabella's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sounds like something is working. Try disconnecting the fuses as you listen to discover which circuit is causing the issue. -

When I had my 85 I did a no pre-load, nothing! worked fantastic. I also Fooled around with some, and a lot of pre-load, liked neither,,, the fooled, the lot or the some. And I'm glad Puc stopped when he did, but I do feel a bit of being outside the club type thing. -
Know what you mean, it used to be that it took a whole steak to satisfy me, now I can do 3 meals with one,,, go figure!

Good to know that the alarm worked, glad you were able to post this, nice to have you around still, what a great day!!

On a second look at the pictures,,,, that shoe looks like it's been around a while, have you checked it out lately?

Well now, it seems to me that you need need to be told something!!! Looks to me that there is a lot less tread in the middle than on the sides, which can mean only one thing!!! It's time to corner more, you are riding a-way tooooo many straight stretches, or maybe you're just not following a Spyder enough!!!!

No other rally has the excitement of the Ontario Rally. If I still had my 85 I might be temped. http://www.southwindmotel.ca/trail.html

Should have used the sucker machine Eck. 'course that would not have been nearly as innovative and you would be wondering what you tell us about next. Glad you used the leaf blower!

I find that the more time I spend on the Spyder, the more I want to use it in place of the cage. But! I also find that I used want to do it more and then I wouldn't take to it as well for a while,,, yep, it comes and goes. Guess maybe it has to do with what else you have that takes your interest, singly or together. We only have the Spyder, nothing else, so I guess that might make a difference. If we had a boat or what ever, then the time available and the desire would have to be divided by what ever you have. One thing that keeps me riding, and I'm not saying it's the only thing, but it does play a part, is that if I no longer were riding, I might start to miss the friends I have made here. Like I said, my interests would be elsewhere and so would the time spent here. So there!!! It's all your fault that I'm still on a bike. This is called: Carlogic

Gotta add some lights,,, what good is all that chrome if it only shows up in the daytime,,, add some lights I say, sparkle at night as well. AND I know somebody who could give you directions!

Don't think there is one. Yamaha momma would love to sell one of those overstocked cases they have sitting around, and it's not a happening that is all that common. Most guys leave a bit of grease in that area and that seems to solve any forthcoming issues. You'll have to make one, or go to a local bearing dealer to see what they have and then work it from there. Ask away if you need more info. Lots of guys on this site can steer you right on the process.
