  1. In reality that should not be an issue, seeing as the rear reservoir has a bellows in it that take up almost half the resevoir, but if for some reason the bellows has a hole in it, then it can fill with fluid and present that problem.
  2. How many tanks of gas have you used for the test, sometimes 1 tank won't tell the right story.
  3. You could have went about town and found another scoot to take home,,, but hey, it might not have had a kick stand at all, and then you might have to deal with a center stand. On second thought, couldn't you just get Bernie to hold the bike up while you get some shut-eye? I've known her to be very helpful at times,,, uhh,,most of the time,,, well honestly, I've never encountered her not to be helpful actually,,so just ask her next time,,,,, you might be surprised at her reaction...or maybe not.
  4. Road snake issues will have more to do with your choice of tire than with the forks, unless the forks are toast of course. Anti dives only work when you pressurize them when you apply the brakes. I found the best solution for spongy front brakes is stainless steel brake lines and properly bled.
  5. Don't think your feelings have anything to do with age, because I have the same feelings. It must be the weather, or maybe the government. Maybe you should wait a bit and see if the ruling gurus change in your favor, they didn't in mine, but you have a better chance, so maybe you'll feel better tomorrow.
  6. Most likely lost the connection between the adjuster knob and the headlight frame or maybe the spring is not hooked up. Take out the headlight and you should be able to see what's happening, you might have to remove the frame to set thing right, kind of self explanatory when you see it.
  7. When you did the sync, did all the cylinders draw the same amount of vacuum?
  8. So much so that he might not have enough hair to cover it now.
  9. A good cleaning of the master is in order. Gunk will get into the return hole and block fluid from coming back from the caliper. I would disassemble both the master and the caliper, clean and then re-install. No sandpaper needed or wanted, use only products designed for brakes. Don't use any lube on the pins or slide areas, lube will attract dust and gravel and will cause things to bind.
  10. The winger wasn't wingin it, 'course he didn't have a Spyder either, in which case the Spyder Rider would have 2 beer ready for the gents at the next stop.
  11. No issues on the 85, she just loved it.
  12. Don't know how many would take advantage of the offer, but it does show love and careing. Good stuff.
  13. It won't effect the clutch, used it my 85 for 4 years, no issues,,,, good stuff!!!
  14. That bang on the 'ead did you in my friend
  15. As most of you know our shop burnt down in December. It's been a sharp upward learning curve for us meat processors, to get into the building industry, new rules, mixed up rules, rules that don't make any sense, engineers (need I say more?). Lots of fun! And then there comes another hitch. In order for us to comply with the new provincial regulations we need to expand our shop to almost twice it's size. The county approved the plans, the province says it looks good, but our neighbour has some legal complaints and so is intending to take this issue to the Ontario Municipal Board. This could take up to 6 months. Today at 3 pm we meet with him, his lawyer, the county zoning dept, our lawyer, a county councilor, and who knows who else might be in attendance. Hopefully this meeting will settle things away, but I really think that it will take a super change of mind on the part of our neighbor. With that we would like to have your input. Do what you can, when you can, I'll let you know how well mental Guidance works out. Thanks Carl
  16. Just finished cleaning the Spyder, and it looks like somebody else did it, I never do it this good. 'course that is in part due to the product I used. Funny how I came upon this. We were coming through Arcade NY last year and Marca just needed to stop in at the quilt shop,,, you know, not to buy anything, just to look, so I said; how long do you need and we agreed on an hour and a half. After leaving her at the shop, I proceeded to advance myself to the local, well there isn't a Harbour Freight, so I went to the Auto Zone. Neat place actually and I just went to look. After a bit I ended up in the cleaning polishing isle,,,, nah, don't need any of that stuff, Pledge works just fine and is reasonable in price. But seeing as I always like to learn something new and there is an empty spot on my shelve (well I thought there might be) I read some labels. Now on the top shelve, almost out of reach and item caught my eye, and as most of you know by now, I'm Dutch, so you know what caught my eye,, the word SALE and under that $5.00. After reading the label I thought,,,ya right, Marca is in the quilt shop and she's not going to buy anything??? really?? I can't make her feel bad by leading me astray, so I better buy this stuff, it's cheap enough not to break the bank and an ice cream would cost more,, so I bought it,,and she bought something as well,, so we were even. This story isn't over yet: When we got home I forgot all about it and it wasn't until this winter that I found it in the saddle bag, and finally put it on the shelve where I forgot about it some more, until today,, so I thought, why not try this stuff and get it off my shelve,,,, results? Anybody want to buy some pledge? next time I'll buy a case of this stuff, it's awesome!!WOW!!! Nanowax, by Eagle One https://www.eagleone.com/superior-nanowax-spray
  17. MK1 are from 83 to 85, and then the saddle bags were changed and the power-plant went from a 1200 to a 1300 and they were called MK2. The 1200 were\are the fastest, so fast in fact that Yammi couldn't keep up, so they slowed things down a bit with the 1300, then in 99 after 7 years of soul searching they came out with the 2nd gen and all 'get up and go' got up and left,,,,Now if you have a 2nd gen you can maybe well imagine how fast those MK1s are. As usual, there is some truth to this story, and maybe some facts. I thought I might be helpful seeing as Puc seems to have taken a furlo.
  18. Hey Tooch,, not to say that you are wrong,,,, I wouldn't do that,,, you are bigger than me,,,, but what is written, is written. 1st gens start in 83, but I would like to help out here, so if you would like to see that xs100h in the line up,,, we could call it a prototype. We just can't go back and change all the wording over the last 10 years and then try to change peoples minds as well. On second thought though, we could give the job to Puc, that way he can be kept busy and feel useful at the same time.
  19. So if I read your next post, will that make me just as smart as both of you??? never mind, I already know the answer.
  20. Just posted on FreeBird's ride thread. Take a lesson and the two of you should get out and ride for 15-30 minutes each day to get the muscles into shape for an all day goer. Have a great time, stay safe and post them pictures you take.
  21. If I remember correctly, when we was younger we would get on the bike and ride, didn't matter the distance, we were good. Not so much any more, after a winter off it time to re-train those top muscles, so we try to go for shorter rides to get back into it before we do any real distance,,,, makes sense to me I think. The other suggestion was spot on as well,,,, the one about massage,,,, nothing better!!!
  22. Take a margarine dish or something similar, half fill it with Amex ammonia and then set it in the attic. His desire to enter the attic will dissolve fairly quickly.
  23. Have you got the antennas hooked up right? The antenna with the load coil in the middle should be on the left side of the bike.
  24. Wow you two,,, can't you just leave all the troubles alone,,,,seems like one thing after another. Best to ask the Father for patience as you go through all the trials that are thrown at ya. I'll help out and ask Him as well.
  25. Easy now,, he's worked a long time to get where he is.
