  1. Make sure that you not only check the battery posts, but also the connectors to the cables. Also check the positive to a ground other than the cable, so go to the body or engine, this will show if you have a good main ground. It's also possible that you have got used to things being dim and that now they are brightened up as they should be, but with the gauge pegging out I would think otherwise until I fully checked it out.
  2. I've had real good practice with that exercise,, lots of good excuses as well,,,, but never did it at maintenance day, or at an ice cream stop.
  3. Did you do the stator check when it was hot or cooled off?
  4. Stop by sometime.
  5. Saddlebum is busy, Midicat's 85 has charging issues, so we are on our own, headed for Jordan Ont to watch 4 of our kids play ball.
  6. Sure is a nice lookin scoot. 85s were the nicest and fastest and prettiest, and ran the best. No, not my old one, mine wasn't that pretty, but it did stay close, resides in the Welland area.
  7. As you get older you think you can still do everything you did when you were younger. Hey, I've driven fine all my life, never an accident, and I'm still just fine, haven't run into anything yet have I? That was my father-in-law. We needed to have his license taken away. Maybe some background there for you to use during your time with him and trying to map out the future. As mentioned: it's not him that I would worry about, but about the somebody else that also might be involved. Mention that if he does hurt himself he might end up in the hospital, maybe never get out and it would be extremely hard to see his girl friend from there.
  8. OK so here's the plan. No GPS, so we can get as lost as we want to. Leave home about 10am, head south, then east along the waterside, leave that when ever, spend some time fooling around in Effingham and district and then end up at the Lazy Loon for supper, hopefully early enough to enjoy the ride back home along the river. No idea how long this is going to take. As you can see, the table is set. http://lazyloon.on.ca/images/photo7.jpghttp://lazyloon.on.ca/images/photo5.jpghttp://lazyloon.on.ca/images/photo8.jpghttp://lazyloon.on.ca/images/photo12.jpg
  9. Hi Ready. We will ask for healing for her, but the best person to do that would be yourself. If you ask the Creator He will answer you. Get to know Him, it's not rocket science. Just admit that He is the one who holds everything in His hands and that you are living in the world He created, we screwed up, and His son came to claim back what is rightfully His. He died to get that done. All He asks is that you recognize Him,, you'll be glad you did for more than one reason. Prayers up!!!
  10. The starter clutch can make such a noise. Normally that only happens when it's engaged, but weird things happen. Once the engine is running one would think that it's no longer engaged, but hey, you never know. If it's broke funny things can happen. How does the starter sound when you start it? Just straws, grabbing at straws.
  11. That's what this is about,,, yes sir!!! who wants in on the game, then we'll see how we plan it.
  12. Marca and I are planning to do some riding on Monday, ending up somewhere for supper. Not just sure yet as to where, so that is up in the air, not sure if there are some who care, but I thought it would be nice to share. Leaving home about 10 in the morning. You can ride along or join us for the eating Just let me know who we might be meeting. It's then I can do some planning So all can be served in the ending.
  13. Can't see me there, guess we need more pictures!!!
  14. Well that's one way to clean up the left overs without having to take them to the dump. Me thinks though that a set of lights would be helpful. Turning corners would be a trick and a half, and keeping the front wheel on the ground might present it's own issues with how high he's got the hitch mounted. Trouble waiting to happen I think!
  15. Don't worry none boss, we can look after ourselves,,, not saying we'll come out it in good shape, but the looking part is easy enough. Enjoy your time away, and don't get wet!!
  16. Maybe they want the parcel back?????
  17. So.... I learned sometime ago that black is the lack of color, and white is the presence of all color. Maybe this is what the good folks are trying to recterfy for the rest of the propulation. I got a feeling we'll have to keep a close eye on this thread, so that the language doesn't get colorful. Just call me Joe Cokamoe
  18. I was bullied in grade school, even followed me a bit to high school. I tell you it was no picnic, and there were times that I thought of ending it all, but didn't have the know how of how to accomplish such a thing without getting hurt in the process. I was also very much aware of who I was, thanks to the teaching of my mom, and the community I belonged to, and especially scripture. We are all made in the image of the Creator and so have a very important value, lots more important than your children have because they look like you or your wife, and that has a very large importance, it's special, but not near as special as our image of the one who designed us. Now,, knowing that, it often will give us more courage to carry on, for really, we are perfectly made for the one He wants us to be, so there!. The end of my experience came one morning when I was in-line to be teased again while I was playing marbles and had my head to the ground, words were spoken and I realized a body close by... I'd had enough!!!!!, stood up in fury, brought my right arm back and whaled my fist forward with all the strength I could muster..................right into my sisters stomach, who was coming to my aid. That didn't go over very well for her relationship with me, but in a day or so she understood,,, so did the bullys, and that was when they didn't take anymore chances. Different today than what it was then, but a lesson that could be used. Not suggesting that she or any bullied person whale away with a fist or similar, but to use the thought pattern. Generally speaking a bullied person attracts more bulling by their reaction. Their reaction is withdrawal from groups, unsure of themselves, inferiority complex and the such. Back to the thought of who we are, we are made in the image of the Creator, He made us all different, but we are all special and special we are, and we all have a special purpose. Somehow get her to focus on who she really is and portray that, rather than listening to others and what they might think,,,, of course that might mean listening to the Creator, and for that to happen she will have to speak to Him. We'll keep you all in our discussions with the Creator, He might find a way to help out, if you let Him. Sorry if this sounds religious, but there is no better psychiatrist.
  19. Darn, now there will be some more unemployed to look after with nobody to harass,,,, oh wait, they work for the gov, so no issue.
  20. I liked that quick reply thing way to go. Just type your reply, click reply, and one click to get back to where I was before, now I got more clicks to do and just when I gots me a new computrt thing,, man all this learnin and I'm running out of time.
  21. Don't know about lately, but there have been sidewall checking with Avons a couple of years in the past. Looks like weather checking, keep an eye on them.
  22. Hey that is downright scary. Glad you have a Father looking after you. Just rest in His hands and look to a future of everlasting peace. The best for you two driving that rig, I would think Don will be kind of nervous as well as you, but with overhead blessings, you'll have fun.
  23. Brake fluid could be built up under the dust seal at the caliper.
  24. A lot of people ride bikes to beat traffic, and if that gets into their brain they develop a complete disregard for traffic rules and such. Sometimes it gets them into trouble when they don't remember some important things,,,, like,,, he is bigger than me, and if we collide I could be right, maybe even dead right. But then if he needs to stop more often he wouldn't be beating the traffic as much as he thought, so out go the rules.
  25. I agree with you Silver-T but riding in the right hand track gives the oncoming the idea that you will be turning off and so even though they might have you in their vision they don't really see you as a threat, so will easily enough disregard you. You're right that when a line of traffic is coming toward you, that next to the center line is a bad place, but too far over also blends you into the landscape or will give the fleeting thought that you are parked and there again you don't get registered into the opposing human brain and can get run off. So maybe best to move over to the center line, with the high beam on and all lights blazing, and that being said, get ready to dive for the ditch anyways. Always, Always leave yourself more than 1 out, preferably 3. In the right track you only have 1, in the left track you might have 2 or maybe not quite, so it looks like a dangerous place to be,,, heading down the road. Keep your eyes open, revise your plan and once you've done that, open your eyes and revise your plan again, and then don't forget to revise your plan again. Just trying to be helpful, and just because it written down, doesn't mean it's the law.
