Ontario is bigger, also bigger than Texas but not as big as Alaska,, who would of thought eh?
-
Now if you got some rain gear installed, that might change things a bit. And the temp is going to be a lot higher than last year, so you could call it a bike wash.
-
Nice info,,, but,,,, is it bigger than Texas?? don't tell the Texans!
-
Not that it matters to me at all,,, but some others might want to know. Who would WANT to be near you?

Hi All. Just to get you all thinking about the MD 2016 traveling arrangments. That would be the June 10th because MD is June 11. If you haven't been to MD yet, this is a good time to break that habit. It's the best M&G going. There are enough people there that if you don't like somebody, you can surely find someone else that you might like,,, but I'm normally quite busy,, sorry! From past experience this is my thinking for this year: On the 10th, early in the morning, we gather at the Casablanca exit on QEW Niagara ready to leave at 9am. With any luck that should get us into the Oberlin area in time for supper and hopefully there will be some food left. My plan would be to cross the Rainbow bridge in the Falls, then take I90 from there, then 90 to Cleveland. Stops will be at the Angola service center, another at Erie TA for lunch, then just short of Cleveland for gas and then on to Elyria, check in and then go for supper at Quaker Steak and Lube in Vermilion. If we end up being late, we'll check in later. As per usual,,, comments will be allowed.

Thanks all for coming out yesterday. We had a good time even though some came without a scoot. Even had a couple of riders spend part of the evening with us. It was our 10th annual and I hope somebody got some pictures or we'll have to do it again, for if there are no pictures, it may not have happened.

Problems are there to be fixed. That's what we are good at, so we do it. It always gets fixed, even right sometimes. At the very least we talk about it and that gives a fix as well,,, right Ben?

Looks like the weather is going to be hot and sticky. Got my day lined up to get ready for tomorrow, Marca is still hobbling around on a bad knee, so you know who's doing the book work and who has to do the leg work. It's a knee jerk type of situation. If we get lucky, coffee should be ready by 8am, maybe even sooner, water will be cold and hopefully there will be lemonade or ice-tea to compliment. and oh yes of course, ice-cream for dessert after lunch.

Sure do hope that things will turn around for you. It's a real bummer when you get some long range plans and then it all falls apart. Best enjoy what you can while you can and not give the setbacks time to settle in and wreck your life. We'll keep you in our prayers, so that in time you might still go out and enjoy God's good country.

i think ive got a blown head gasket
Marcarl replied to Black wing's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yep,,, get another motor. Very few of these engines ever get tore down. Reasons: Very few ever need to be, so that leaves no need for used ones, an lots of good ones for sale. -
Nice guy that Ben is, sure is handy to have around, just wish he lived closer so he could help more,,, did I really say that? Really, he's a good friend to have, ain't many like him. I didn't say that many don't like him, that would be an error!

Marca says to provide the following info. Marca will not be joining us on the ride, she will be staying home to relax and enjoy the company provided by some others who would also appreciate an afternoon on the patio or lawn as desired. She says not to worry, lemonade will be on tap.

So after reading all the suggestions, decision time will be coming. It's black, and a she (all bikes are she's)( well it used to be said that everything is a HE, except the old tom-cat, and that's a SHE, but then bikes weren't being named yet) so anyways, and it's shinny, black, loves the outdoors, flys and makes unnecessary noise, so Starling comes to mind. Now I don't like starlings much so I would nic-name it Darling. You just know I'm right now don't ya!!

If you are still stuck on the cover, then there is an issue that hasn't been covered yet. Can you post some pictures as to where you are at? Just to start from scratch so to speak: To remove the cover remove all the bolts that are holding it in place, then lay down and look to make sure they are all removed. Remove the crash bar, and shift pedal linkage. When you go to reinstall the shift shaft through the cover make sure the knuckle is in the upward position. You can now 'break' the seal that the gasket makes between the cover and the engine by giving sharp raps around the outside of the cover. You'll notice that it is loose when it loosens. If somebody used a sealant in that joint then things become a bit more dicey, you'll have to use a prying tool to separate it form the engine, but first before you do that. check once more to make sure all bolts are out, I mean all of the or you will crack the cover. Once you have it loose then you need some strong arm to pull it the rest of the way off. The magnets on the inside of the cover are strong and really don't want to come away from where they do their job best. So pull, wiggle, pull and all of a sudden things will come. The starter clutch itself can be a bear, a big black grizzly Canadian type. You'll need a quality puller, as mentioned hardened bolts and thick washers, along with a cheater bar. Remove the bolt holding the clutch on the shaft, install the puller, making sure it's installed perfectly level and flush. Now carefully snug the puller and check the alignment again. Once you are absolutely positive that all is good to go, put the pressure to the puller and watch out that you don't get in the way. When it comes off it will do so in a flying hurry. If you don't get any results then it make be time to take matters to a higher level. For this you will need a heavy, solid punch, and a 2 lb hammer. While under pressure set the punch close to the separation of clutch and shaft and give it a sharp rap with the 2lb. Stand to the side so you don't get hit. Like I said before, often pictures will help a lot. -
Just thought this needed to be brought to the top once again, hate to have somebody say after the fact that they hadn't heard,,,,, happens!
-
If you didn't want to cover it, you wouldn't need a cover. Now if you don't have a cover to cover it, or the cover you have don't do the job anymore, then you either go out and buy another cover, spend the time to cover and un-cover it, find a place to store it, worry about the cover being taken by others who think they might need it more than you,,, orrr,,, go the other route, the route of least resistance: change your mind about covering your scoot.
