  1. You could have told us last night,,, why so mummm chum,,,, I didn't speak that long so there was lots of time to stand up and give all of your closest buddies the inside. Now I'll have to come there myself in person.
  2. It will be nice to you all, but great if we get see all of you!
  3. First off I would try tapping the buckets. There is a lot of tension, or should be a lot of tension on them to try to get them to return, so a little tapping might work. You may also try a little heat in that area. use a propane torch and carefully heat the entire area. You need to clean the oil out of the way first. Use a can of brake clean and then wait for a while for that to dissipate. This will also call for an oil change.
  4. The wobble would be related to the steering head bearing. At the age it is, suggest to take it apart , clean , lube, check for flat spots, reinstall and torque to proper settings. Ya I know,, them forks again, and I just did them!!,, well now you will be experienced.
  5. Something I think you overlooked. Hose going from fuel pump to carb!. Suggest replacing that hose. Sometimes the rubber inside that hose breaks down and causes nothing but troubles. So may I suggest, you once more remove and clean the carbs, making super sure you have the right jets in the proper spots, replace the hose and be happy. My guess is that you have a bit of rubber stuck in there,, wouldn't take much.
  6. That just doesn't make any sense. When the master is released then the slave should be able to be pushed back, if it won't then there is a problem with the master. Maybe a good cleaning is in order before you get some problems with it.
  7. Good looking machine, hope you all enjoy it. Couple of things to put under your hat: If you feel the belt vibrate, you can try to adjust the tension. What is in the manual is too tight and causes bearing wear in the rear wheel and the engine. So it's set somewhat loser, but that might give problems at certain speeds. The answer to that is an idler pulley halfway down the belt to take up slack. Called a 'smooth spyder', but I built my own,,, way cheaper. The other is alignment. If you get a tire vibration, or it won't track straight on it's own, the alignment will most likely need more toe-in. Played with that one for a year before I got it right. Scrap the Kenda tires, I went with Kumo instead. Same size on the front but a wee bit narrower on the rear.
  8. How is everybody gonna ogle my Spyder if MD doesn't progress,,, oh wait,, that was last year. I will be there!!! Friday night for dinner and then maybe all day Saturday. Marca would be disappointed if I didn't go,, gives her a chance to 'clean up' my shop with wood dust. Now if it decides t rain again???? well the maybe,, just maybe, I'll have to wear some rain-gear.
  9. Your left cylinder butterfly is open. Seen this happen lots of times. You need to start from scratch making sure that the butterfly is fully closed to start with. The bolt is not torqued into the bearing cap so maybe easily removed with a pick,,, maybe,,,, try it. Seeing as the bolt shoulder seats there should be no pressure on the threads. If not, take out the cap, remove the bolt, and re-install. Torque as close as you can to specs.
  10. Oh come on guys,,, really!!! how could I do without my phone, even for a minute!!! somebody might tweet something about me and it might even be good,,,, I need to know ASAP. Another good way for clearing out the gene pool,, too bad the pool often drowns the unsuspected.
  11. Did you happen to pull the clutch handle when you had the basket apart, if you did, then maybe you pushed the piston out too far and now is stuck. I would think that the slave would leak in such a case though. To check this out you might check the unloaded position of the push rod. I think it needs to be flush with the boss, or nearly so, so if it's sticking out so that you could grab it with a pair of pliers then that might be the case.
  12. If you have had the pumpkin off then there is a proper procedure on reinstall. Did you follow that procedure? Install pumpkin, do not tighten bolts. Install wheel and rotate the shaft to where it feels the easiest to rotate. Snug up shaft. Now tighten pumpkin to driveshaft tunnel and lastly torque the axle shaft.
  13. Thanks Raggie, I hadn't noticed the omission.
  14. SHHHHsss ., top secret: don't tell Puc. 15. It's supposed to be able to provide some grease to the shaft spline. Actually just makes a bigger mess for you when you pull the pumpkin off. Grease both ends of the shaft spline with proper molly grease and you're good to go. I use Lucas x-heavyduty wheel bearing grease, as well as on the wheel spline.
  16. Didn't I warn you about Puc?? and now that he's on drugs it's not getting any better,,,,, hide??? oh no, that ain't gonna work now that you fixed his 'puter, best get back and undo some of the spells you cast on it!
  17. You can reuse them, but you run the risk, high risk, of having coolant bleed into the oil and ruining the whole engine. There just is too much pressure in the cylinders for goop to hold. And then there is heat and pressure from the coolant side, all the while during running, even when the piston is on the intake stroke and puts the cylinder under vacuum. Best to find a way to trailer it.
  18. Ya he is like that,,, he is a Wiz,,, now if only he could link my computer to yours we could really get some hotdogging done. Good job Wiz!!!
  19. You put the washer in the wrong spot. Don't ask me exactly where or how, check the diagrams in the book, I just remember doing it wrong. It doesn't go in logical sense.
  20. I got lucky the other day, went to the Indian Reserve and paid $3.10 us gal. At the pumps here today it's $3.59 us gal. I thought that was cheap,,,, heck with trump, I'm moving to the states,, anybody got a house for sale?
  21. Now you got me worrying over you two. Best I can do is ask the Great Physician for His input, so consider it done!
  22. Prayers for you are always on the way,, sorry, just can't help being thankful for you. It's interesting that your mother took a change later in life. I suppose it happens more often, I'm no expert on the matter so really don't know for sure. What I do know is that there is a constant struggle between good and the evil one and I might philosophize that this could have been happening with your mother. If this were true then there was a battle going on for her and I really don't don't need to be telling you Who the winner would be. During Yesuha's last hours a thief said to Him: remember me, and at the last moment he avoided the darkness. Can't say for your mother, but you can ask for peace with it all, and it will be yours. That we should waste no time with reconciliation is a for-sure, for we never, ever, never know when either of the parties involved reach the gate of eternity, and then time stops!! Blessings, for you and yours, and may the peace of the Almighty rest on you.
