Now you got me worrying over you two. Best I can do is ask the Great Physician for His input, so consider it done!

Prayers requested
Marcarl replied to Freebird's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Prayers for you are always on the way,, sorry, just can't help being thankful for you. It's interesting that your mother took a change later in life. I suppose it happens more often, I'm no expert on the matter so really don't know for sure. What I do know is that there is a constant struggle between good and the evil one and I might philosophize that this could have been happening with your mother. If this were true then there was a battle going on for her and I really don't don't need to be telling you Who the winner would be. During Yesuha's last hours a thief said to Him: remember me, and at the last moment he avoided the darkness. Can't say for your mother, but you can ask for peace with it all, and it will be yours. That we should waste no time with reconciliation is a for-sure, for we never, ever, never know when either of the parties involved reach the gate of eternity, and then time stops!! Blessings, for you and yours, and may the peace of the Almighty rest on you. -

Have used them and have others use them. No issues that I've heard of so far and a lot easier to deal with. -

Marcarl replied to rickardracing's topic in Watering Hole
Hey I'm from Canada, so have to deal with Canadian dollars, so $80 works out to about $114 Canadian,,,, so I went on line to see how this all works out,,, lookie lookie,, went through Trivago and discovered that Days Inn, Elyria is offering a room @ C$74,,,, now what do I do??? that works out to $40 per night or $80 for the weekend,,, that's a chunk of cash!! -
Slipping clutch
Marcarl replied to phonetrouble's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Easy answer: YEP!! -
I really like the color of that scooter!!! How to remove the nut? get a short wrench, put it on the nut, do not seat it perfectly, say a few choice words and give it a reef!!! After it slips off and you have some really good bruised knuckles,,, ok, that's not the instructions you were looking for I think. Use some heat, most likely held together with locktite. See I can be agreeable!!!

Another DUH clutch question
Marcarl replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sort of depends on what you are replacing it with. If memory serves me correct there is a kit available that does away with the 1\2 plate and the spring,,, but that is only my memory. Seems to me that if you didn't get the 1\2 plate in the kit that maybe it's been replaced with a full plate. -
Mark II 2nd gear popping out
Marcarl replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Just a wild thought: are you sure that engine is a 1300 and not a 1200? If it were a 1200 then you could easily enough check to see if it is the same problem as experienced by the other 1200s. The split washer in question is very visible if you pull the middle gear cover, it'll be there staring you right in the face at the end of the shaft. With a little careful analysis you can determine if there is wear there. -
Good to hear that you is on the mend Puccie, can't have you sidelined. Just think,,, well some of us can do that easily, and for some others it takes a bit of effort, and then there are those who have to look the word up in the dictionary,,, anyways, just think,,,,,, now I have to remember what it is that I was going to impart to you,,,, oh Ya!, just think,,, if you practice with the one finger on the one hand, and that being you off hand, can you imagine how good you'll be when you get both working simultaneously?,,,, or you could just let Tippy type, we don't mind her at all,,, fact is, we kind of like her ok. heal fast bro, it's no fun sitting around listening to the docs and trying to behave.

I would advise against this, because the hose is a formed hose and a straight piece might kink restricting fluid intake for the master.
-
Can I say something as well???? Replace the hose, for that is what it is, and it is most likely cracked so may continue to weep..... JMTCW

Interesting to say the least!!!! I'll bet the photographer never even noticed how the camera managed to the center the photo to something as exciting as it did.

Final Drive weeping!
Marcarl replied to kf_sk_mccall's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you are referring to the seal on the pumpkin, then just carefully stick a screwdriver between the seal and the clutch to pry it off,,,, goes rather easy. Clean it and install a new one. I found that the most cause of weeping is caused by too much grease. We like to make sure that it is properly greased, and put a little extra on for good measure. That's OK I guess, but any extra gets spun off and ends up on the outside, seal or no seal. In my opinion the seal is there to keep the dirt and moisture at bay, not to keep the grease in. You need to use the right grease, I use Lucas Extra Heavy Duty wheel bearing grease. Use only as much as is need to wet the surfaces. It stays there where it belongs. Some other guys use Honda Moly, and that works as well. When you take it apart later, you'll find any extra has spun off, but the splines will be wet, and that is all that is required. The clutch hub, as it is called, should be cleaned and lubed every time you change or remove the tire,, good practice. The clutch hub, the part on the wheel, is of softer material than it's mate on the pumpkin, and is easily replaced. Actually, it's good practice to remove it for service at wheel removal time as well. It's just a matter of prying it off of the wheel once you have the ciriclip removed. The pins going into the wheel can be a bit of a chore if this hasn't been done before, but go slow and they will come out with the hub. Then clean and lube the pins, put them back and install the ciriclip. Next time it'll go much easier. If you really need a new hub, I have one, brand new in the box, but maybe better for you to grab one from a dealer. Cost will be about $90us from the dealer. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/a/yam/500430a7f8700209bc78ac18/rear-wheel -

SWEET!!! Hope you'll enjoy it,,,, I think the 86s ran the best off the MrkIIs, but then that's only my opinion.

Went out shopping this morning,, looking for some additional butcher cases from which to sell our products. Then I came home for lunch and helped myself to a bit of a snooze. I do that most afternoons, I find it gives more reason to have a couch downstairs and it lets the work pile up a little bit more so that I don't have to bend over so far. I did put my back out once when I bent over, so a guy has to be kind of careful with that,,, so I am! Well anyways, the snooze came to an end when Marca showed up with the groceries so I helped her get them into the house, and then seeing as I was already somewhat working I figured I might as well see what was needing doing out in the shop. One of the things that has been bothering me is the amount of them there little spiders that I seem to have an abundance of. They is everywhere. Today was a good day to attack them so the first thing I did was to open the garage door to let the shop air out some and to throw some more light on the subject, and I thought that if the air cooled a bit, them spiders would not be as tricky to get. Once I had the door open I got ready to set up the vacuum and get to work,,, when wouldn't you believe it ???? there was the grandmother of all spiders sitting there in the middle of the floor, just looking at me. I never seen something like that in all my life,, at least not I could immediately remember,,, too big for the vacuum and downright scary. I had to stop to consider what to do,,,, smash the crap out of it?, boot it out the door?, call Marca so she could be scared with me?, call animal control?,,,,,, I was totally undecided when that beast decided things for me! It was looking at me with 2 BIG eyes, it's tentacles were twitching, and those big black legs were searching for grip. No it was not coming at me,,,,, it was actually headed for the open door, when I realized that my neighbors dog was out in the front yard and it had it's eyes on him. I could not let that monster get out the door but I didn't have the where with-all to stop it either,,, and I was feeling sorry for Jake, the dog,,,,, so I did what any groan man would do I suppose,,,, I gathered all my will power, threw it in the garbage, and climbed on the back of this beast to give it proper direction. What a great ride,, took in about 2 hours of pure fulfillment.

Trunk tabs broken
Marcarl replied to lordsunny's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Lots of ideas, and all of them work,, some for some, others for others,,, but none seem to work if the prep work isn't done right. Everything needs to be clean, no foreigners in the area, no grease, oil or dirt and any finish needs to be removed.
