  1. I have one I would let go for the cost of shipping and anything else you think is fair. Just let me know. I work a lot and I live where shipping seems to be high. I will do my best to get it out quick, but no guarantee lol. And I will only know shipping after checking to your address. P.S. I never used it, but I don't know how it could go bad.
  2. I had to use a small flat screwdriver and life one corner then the other. It will go just needs to be persuaded.
  3. This is just a quick look at one of my Mods. As I was unable to get my Audio or my CB to work, I removed/replaced my audio and removed my CB. When I was removing the CB I had an idea. At first I just wanted to flip the black box upside down as to access it from the bottom, but the trunk would not fit. After looking at it I then flipped it as well as installing it under the bracket rather then on top like normal. The bolts are now going from the bottom up rather then top down, so I added an extra nut and Loctite to secure. There is a hole where the wires passed through that I will be filling in at some point. I have plans to put a set of keys and some emergency cash in a ziplock bag and possibly with other items. I also plan to seal it shut with a small bit of RTV, as I do not plan to open it once shut unless needed. This should prove to be a nice water tight Hidey Hole.
  4. I started with the storage mod from http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/?action=category&cat_id=002003 (link won't take you to page, so click "click here" at bottom of page, then "2nd Gen", then "audio/CB", then "cassette deck to storage mod") I installed a Shark audio system from http://sharkmotorcycleaudio.com/#_l_ce I think it worked out well. I have not had time to get out and test it log term yet, but works well in the garage.
  5. If you don't find a fix you can always put on a limiting strap. I am thinking of removing the mechanism completely. Adding a strap on both side to stop over opening and for less stress on the hinges to stop poss cracks.
  6. Should be it https://mandarinrestaurant.com/kitchener/
  7. This will be try #2 . I posted this question already, but showed my stupid and said head gasket not valve cover gasket. My bad, so here we go again. I know I should change them out with new ones, But something went wrong with the ones I ordered. I need to move and got to get the bike back up and running to move it. If I use some good high temp black, anyone think I have a chance of getting it sealed well? the gaskets look good still. Ok, so thanks for any help this updated post may get me.
  8. Sorry I keep putting my brain on hold when I post I ment the valve cover gasket not the head gasket.
  9. I know I should change with a new one, But something went wrong with the ones I ordered. I need to move and got to get the bike back up and running to move it. If I use some good high temp black anyone think I have a chance of getting it sealed well? the gaskets look good still. thanks.
  10. Not all that meany suggestions coming in on this? I looked threw the forums found some stuff, but most is old with broken links.
  11. Sorry miss spoke only done about 100 miles on the bike. in 5th it cuts out on me, but in 4th it holds speed and dosn't cut out on me.
  12. My CC was doing some on the same things in 6th, but I read on here that it only works in 4th and 5th gear, so in 5th it seems to hold better and not drop off?
  13. Hello everyone, I am looking for suggestions on where to get my hands on the cheapest valve tool? I would also like to fined a good place to get shims? For the tool I am willing to rent, borrow or buy whatever works out the cheapest and the quickest. For the shims I am willing to buy if anyone has a good place, but swapping with a member or a site would work well too. I live in ND and no members relay all that near to me, not sure how cost effective shipping is back and forth? Any help and suggestions is appreciated. Thanks
  14. I did see that the shipping on the Ride-On was way more for you guys, so may not be a option. The zip tie method though put with the jack stand balance method would put you at $180 plus cost of wheel weights. That is of course you are set up and able to do your own work.
  15. From the Ride on website. "Q: How does Ride-On (TPS) affect the tire manufacturer's warranty? A : Ride-On (TPS) is an inert tire sealant that does not attack or damage tires or wheels. Ride-On (TPS) contains anti-corrosive agents to help protect steel or aluminum wheels and tire belts from rust. Ride-On (TPS) has obtained letters from Bridgestone, Firestone, Continental, General Tire, Yokohama, Michelin, Goodyear, and Toyo Tires stating that the use of Ride-On (TPS) does not void their warranties, unless the damage to the tire or wheel has been caused by the sealant." This video shows product and talks about no need to balance tires. Just A few videos on the zip tie tire change method very cool. Dismount Mount I am new to forums. Please let me know if the is bad form or thread jacking? Is on topic I think. I'm just not sure how this all works. Thanks
