Just wanted to thank everyone that has submitted posts on repairs and problems with thier first generation VR. I have never used a forum before so this is all new.The articles helped to shake off the dust on my mechanical skills and the 86 is running fine. The poor thing sat for 4 years while I was overseas, and had developed major brake and carb issues. I am currently in the process of painting it and have all good platic ready for preping, unfortunately I am again going over the pond and I doubt it will get finished this year. I have a 1983 Venture Standard minus the plastic and carbs does anyone need anything off of it? rjjammer

Drove to TX to get the trailer, Bought the bike, made the hitch, wired the bike, rewired the trailer, and tonight was the first night of getting them together. Basically about a 2 month process... IT'S DONE THOUGH!!! I was surprised at how well it pulled.. ..

I have read about baking the TCI at 100 degrees for 30 min or so. Is there a thread that tells the whole process and tells me what to look for? THanks, Jeff

I'm going to be taking my whole fork assembly off and putting on a rebuilt setup, and replacing all the brake lines, calipers, and master cylinders aswell. I could use an extra pair of hands or two gettring things done and making sure I don't accidently drop Goldie on the cold hard concrete floor in the process. The garage is heated, there is half a case of Mexican beer in the garage, and I wil buy pizza and wings for nourishment. I'm thinking next Saturday to get started. If anybody is bored or would like to help, come on over...

I made a decision to purchase a standby generator, a 20 KW air cooled model. Operates on natural gas, came with a 200 amp Load shedding automatic transfer switch. I'm in the process of doing the install over the next 2-3 weeks. I wanted to know if anyone here might use this brand or have any knowledge of these generators. Thanks J.B.

I have recently purchased 2005 rsv and was told that the warranty could be transfered. Is this true, and if so what is the process? Also can YES warranty be purchased after the bike has a second owner? Any help would be appreciated.

I just finished putting new dunlop E3 tires on the bike. first time i've ever had to buy tires for a bike, boy was i surprised to see the price tags. decided to save money and take the wheels off myself and learned something. the bike doesn't like to stay on the center stand with both tires off. guess i shoulded done a little more research before pulling them both off. things were kinda hairy a couple of times in the process but were looking good now. i just need to put the saddlebags back on and take a little trip to breakin the new tires. now if the rain finnaly stops for a bit in mn i'll be happy to start stacking the miles on again

Please forgive me....I'm new to venture Rider so this is a repeat post (I originally posted it in the watering hole) Greetings all, So I've seen several ventures without the trunk and I kinda like the look. Before I attempt the eight bolt modification I was wondering if anyone in here has already removed the trunk and if so can you share some pics with me and explain the process?? I plan on putting on an aftermarket seat but leave the antennas in place so I still get good reception...any thoughts would be great! ....and yes my wife might not enjoy the ride as much but if it's a long trip I'll need the trunk anyway and back on it would go.
