Mr. Freeman

Freeman You're a 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley. November 11, 1965. LZ X-ray , Vietnam Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in. You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out. Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day. Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter. You look up to see an unarmed Huey. But .... it doesn't seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it. Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway. Even after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway. And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board. Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses. And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!! He took about 30 of you and your buddies out who would never have gotten out. Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died last Wednesday at the age of 80, in Boise , Idaho May God Rest His Soul. I bet you didn't hear about this hero'spassing, but we've sure seen a whole bunch about Tiger Woods . . . Medal of Honor Winner Ed Freeman
2. Anyone been to Mexico ? What do you need to enter/leave ?.... besides a gun ! and passport . Cb
3. thought i'd pass this along cabela's is selling a reproduction 1851 confederate navy colt .44 cal. pistol, black powder, new, for $129.99...pistol is made by Pietta...i am by no means a knowledgeable gun collector...and i'm sure this isn't gonna light fires under serious collectors..but my son wants to start a gun collection and it's a nice piece.......and maybe others might be interested......supposedly good through xmas........
4. just thought i'd throw this out here.......i used my heat gun to solder a couple of connections yesterday , and it worked great.......the wires were too big for my 100 watt iron, and because they were close to my fuel pump and seat, didn't wanna use the torch..i used a smaller nozzle that was no wider than the connection, turns out, the gun was faster than the torch anyway........
5. Gentlemen and Ladies The 05 RSV I purchased in Apirl has been running great up to now, however just today it starting misfiring out of both mufflers when slowing down. I mean like a gun going off. In Canada that could be a scary time since it is very quite up here. Any ideas/suggestions on what could be the cause and more importantly the cure.
6. Because of recent abductions In daylight hours, refresh yourself Of these things to do In an emergency situation... This is for you, And for you to share With your wife, Your children, Everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, Forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful In this crazy world we live in. 1 .Tip from Tae Kwon Do : The elbowis the strongest point On your body. If you are close enough to use it,do! 2. Learned this from a tourist guide In New Orleans If a robber asksfor your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you.... Chances arethat he is more interested In your wallet and/or pursethan you, And he will gofor the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! 3. If you are ever throwninto the trunk of a car, Kick out the back tail lightsand stick your arm out the hole And start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you,but everybody else will. This has saved lives 4. Women have a tendencyto get into their cars After shopping, eating, working, etc.,and just sit (doing their check book, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS!) The predatorwill be watching you,and this Is the perfect opportunityfor him to get in On the passenger side, put a gun to your head, And tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE. If someone Is in the car With a gun To your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine And speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person isin the back seat They will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes Bail out and run. It is better than having themfind your body In a remote location.. 5.A few notes about getting Into your car in a parking lot, Or parking garage: A.) Be aware: Look around you, Look into your car, At the passenger side floor, And in the back seat B.) If you are parked next to a big van, Enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims By pulling them into their vanswhile the women Are attemptingto get into their ca rs. C.) Look at the car Parked on the driver's sideof your vehicle, And the passenger side..If a male is sitting alone In the seat nearest your car,you may want to walk back Into the mall, or work, and get=2 0a guard/policemanto walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.) 6. ALWAYStake the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible placesto be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!) 7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you(a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likelyWILL NOTbe a vital organ. RUN,Preferably in a zig -zag pattern! 8. As women,we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP It may get you raped,or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man,who ALWAYS played on the sympathiesof unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane,or a limp, and often asked'for help'into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim. 9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told methat her friend heard a crying baby on her porchthe night before last, and she called the policebecause it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do,DO NOT open the door.' The ladythen said thatit sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawlto the streetand get run over. The polic eman said,'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do,DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they thinka serial killer has a baby's cry recordedand uses it to coax women out of their homesthinking that someone dropped off a babyHe said they have not verified it, but have had several callsby women saying that they hear baby's criesoutside their doors when they're home aloneat night. Please pass this on and DO NOTopen the door for a crying baby ---- Thise-mail should probablybe taken seriously because the Crying Baby theorywas mentioned on America 's Most Wantedthis past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana I'd like youto forward thisto all the women y ou know. It may save a lifeA candle is not dimmedby lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys,if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want topass it onto them, as well. Send thisto any woman you knowthat may need to be remindedthat the world we live inhas a lot of crazies in it and it's better to be safethan sorry..
7. I have a Beretta 380 that I have been using for target practice. (recently qualified for carry conceal permit). The safety became sticky after while but now it won't work at all. Not good to have a gun without a functioning safety. I have had such good luck with this site and fixing my bike, I was wondering if there is a comparable user friendly site that I could ask questions of for firearms. Iowa Guy
8. My wife works at a local hospital. Told me this story friday. Man is in barber shop geting his hair cut. A beautiful girl comes in and he says " I could kill myself for you", pulls out a pistol, drops the clip and put the gun under his jaw and pulls the trigger. He forgot there was a round in the gun. Bullet went through his jaw into his head and through the barbers hand. He really impressed her!! Please if you attempt to impress anyone, TAKE THE ROUND OUT OF THE GUN!!! tew47
9. Some kind of dust storm going on, but take a close look at the pistol in his holster, arent they in a war zone..............I think one would want to carry a loaded pistol at least, at least have a magazine in the gun, but no, they have him carry a pistol without a mag in it.....got to wonder................
10. Are there anay knife makers in the group? I'm looking to find a nice bone handle skinng knife. Problem is that I want it to funtion well but not be so nice that once I get it home it's too nice to take to the woods. Just ran into this problem. Bought one off of ebay. Paid less than 30 bucks deliverd, got it in my hands and then it went straight to the gun cabinet. Turned out to be a Ken Richardson signed original. Hence too nice for the woods. Any info will be greatly apreciated, Thanks in advance, David
11. ...Folks around here are into are into side-arms and Gun Leather, but I ran into these folks at the gun show this weekend. Being somewhat of a afficiendo myself, I was very impressed with their products. I purchased one of their holsters and it is the highest riding, closest fitting holsters I have ever used. If you like Gun Leather, ya might want to give their sight a look http://www.mernickleholsters.com/ Kinda fun just to Browse DJ
12. I always thought you were supposed to wait at least 15 min. after shooting a deer, and have your gun ready just in case. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/odd_deer_attacks_hunter New show..."When Good Deer Go Bad" or "Here's Your Sign?":big-grin-emoticon:
13. Manage to pop the miror galss out and back in again on a first gen to get at the swivel screw without breaking it. I was thinking of attemting it with the help of a hot air gun to try to clean up the swival so i can proper adjust and keep my mirror position.
14. Thought I would check to see if there are any other Benelli Shotgun owners in the crowd. I have admired and drooled over the Super Black Eagle II for the past year. Yesterday I went out and bought the left handed model in the APG4 camo configuration. I haven't got to shoot it yet, hopefully tomorrow evening a friend and I will go out and I will try it out on clays. Duck season opens on the 11th here and I really want to have a good feel for it before then. http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/large/sbe2CTApg12Ga.jpg Last year was my first season and I used a right handed Remington 870 Express, which in it's own right is a good solid and rugged gun... Completely different class of gun though. I managed to shoot 1 Goose and 22 ducks... one of them even a banded wood duck! Hopefully this season will be as much fun and I will knock even more of them down!
15. Some of you may recall on 6/21/08 I came in contact with a 200 lb wild hog at about 60 mph. Pig did not make it Road Star Silvarado did not make it. 18. Forgot to post this. We lost the only one we have lost since opening our new prison in 94 last month. A female officer helped him sneak out when he was in the Work Camp we have on our complex. He wasn't inside our Perimeter. But he was ours. And she is not any more!! Locked up!! Hope she gets some serious time. We caught him 2 days ago. In a stolen car with a gun. SMART!! Trade a 5 week for a 1 to 10 on the gun, 5 Flat for Escape, Not sure on the car. I have him back in my Max unit with a big knot on his head...... Don't know anything about that:think:
19. As many of you know or maybe dont know that today was the opening day of the firearm deer hunting season here in Michigan. For many many years (18) I have sat in the woods with my gun sighted in and my nerves very high only to get a doe or a button buck. This year Jack got me a brand new gun and scope .Today was no different other then Jack had decided that he wanted to hunt his sister land 3 hours away and leave me and my daughter to hunt by ourselves. The day was very cold and snow and sleet were coming down but that did not stop me from sitting in the tree stand. At 7;30 this morning I raised my new gun and took aim at a nice size doe and down she went. I thought that well here goes another year of me only getting a doe. At 10:30ish I saw movement only to see that this movement had horns attached I sat and watch a buck come in the left of my blind and I took aim and with my heart pounding I pulled the trigger and I dropped my first buck ever with horns. I saw the best sight ever as he dropped in front of my blind. I broke into tears from finally getting a buck and Jack was no where around to share this with. I didnt want to get out of my blind being opening day so I stayed there and 30 minutes later much to my surprise another buck came and again I held my breathe and took aim and wouldnt you know it I got a 2nd buck...I had to call Jack and let him know and he said we'll be there in a couple of hours he got there in time to help me finish cleaning the 2nd deer. So here are me and my very very very first bucks with horns and the doe that I got too Good Luck to every one that ventures out into the woods and please please wear your harnesses in the tree stands Jessie:2132: P.S. My daughter did not take anything but she did get a chancd to get a shot at a 10 point Buck
20. First the whine Marilyn went out to the suv at 1 ish this afternoon, came back into the house and asked me if I had left it open last night? No...I said.....well we've been robbed she says! Dang....burgalers got into the thing throught the back top glass portion of the rear hatch and stole....her change and her MYFi satellite radio I got her for her bike and car. The police where here pretty quick...helps when ya know them all....and it also helps when the neighbor also got broken into and had a gun stolen from their car!!! They took a plastic item from Marilyn's vehicle in hopes that there are prints on it but they are not too hopeful.....they would seriously like to get that gun back though! Now...for the kudo's She called XM to deactivate the radio. They did so and when she explained that it was stolen they offered her a new myfi complete.....for 99 bucks plus shipping and then a 40 dollar credit to her account. This is a 350 dollar unit up here so I thought that was very good of them....whadya all think of that....oh yeah and no activation fee either. Spent the rest of the day in the Peace Gardens at the border with out kids and exchange student. Gotta have some good outta the whole thing. All in all....poor start but a good end so far.
