erhm are any of you gents and ladies electrically inclined to be able to help me out with this one? I've come to realize that my 4 way flashers no longer work, I am not able to find a clymer book to help me with the trouble shooting so I'm hoping one of you savvy individuals can assist me.. With the bike running or not, ignition switch on (bike not running), I have my turn signals working properly if the 4 way flasher switch is to "off" position. However, when the 4 way flasher switch is to the "on" position, the signal lights won't flash. Someone has told me that it's a simple 4 way relay change but don't know the part number or location or 'anything else' about it.. Anyone able to help me out with this one? Many thanks in advance! In the morning (or when it's cold out), the turn signals and the indicator light come on and stay on. While they are lit up, I can hear a buzz from something inside the fairing. Once the ambient temp warms up, the signals work fine. I looked through the service manual but it doesn't talk about this situation. I'm thinking that it's probably the flasher relay or the self cancelling unit. Please let me know what you think it would be and how difficult it is the correct and where it's located. Thanks all!! I want to install Custom Dynamics LED turn signal clusters front and rear but have a problem with the flasher options. The options available both have down sides I want to avoid; load equalizers get very hot and limit the use of 4 way flashers or replacing the flasher unit with their version eliminates the self cancelling feature of the bike's turn signals. Anyone know of another option?

Hello everyone! I was tinkering with the rsv (1999) putting on a stebel horn, I finished and did a walk around looking at my lights when I found that I have no turn signals or flasher going to the rear. I do have brake lights and all function up front - just not in the rear. Im guessing its a ground but where do I start? Thanks for any help tj -
I posted this before and got a reply. but, the thread was deleted into cyber space. I want to hook up 4 way flashers on my 07 RSTD. I know it can be done. I don't know the part number of the flasher I need to buy. If the kind person that replyed before would reply again I'd appreciate it. I promise that I'll print it out this time. guns_usn_20 -
And what type is used in the rsv? that is the number and shape of the prongs. -
I ordered a headlight modulator and brake flasher from http://www.comagination.com/modYamaha.htm today. The flasher is the "Brake Flasher (IBF4) with about 4 FLASHES/3 seconds and then stays steady ON until brake is released". I'm trying to decide which lights I want to hook it up to. I have an LED light bar under my trunk and I also have a tail light converter for my cooler rack or for towing a trailer. SO... I was thinking that I would only have the LED lights flash on the bike. I'm also thinking that I should have the trailer brake lights flash even though they are combined with the turnsignals. Does anyone have the combined Stop/Turn Signals and have them set up to flash? Thanks

Hey Guys: I would like to replace both my rear turn signals as well my front ones with LED's. I don't want to loose the 4 way flasher, what can I do to get this all together? Sponge Bob It's a dry heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took my 83 Standard out for a short ride last night and the turn signals just stopped working. The lights and the indicator do not come on at all. I checked the fuse and its fine. My hazard lights work as well as everything else electrical is fine. I suppose I need to give in and buy a service manual for this thing. I have the pdf manual for the 1300 that someone here was kind enough to send me a while back, but I'm not sure if the componets are the same, as well as the wire colors etc. Here are a few questions I could use some help on. My bike is scheduled to get state inspected for license renewel next week, so I'm in a bit of a jam to get these turn signals working. Does the 1200 Standard have a self canceling device? Is there a relay wired between the switch and the flasher unit? Where is the flasher located? Electical troubleshooting is generally one of my strong points, I'm just not sure what componets this bike has and where the heck are they? Any help mucho appreciated! Tim
