I was just wondering if anyone has ran the Dunlop Elite IIIs on their Venture. I called a Yamaha dealer to ask if he had any 404s in stock and he advised he would not mount them on the Venture. He said on a bike that size he would only mount Elite IIIs. I told him that the 404s were the recommended tire, and he advised that his conscience would not allow him to send someone off on a Venture with 404s under it. I've ran 404s with no problem.

I'm getting ready to change a back tire on my 07 RSV in about 2,000 more miles. I want to go with the Dunlop Elite 3 and was wondering what kind of mileage to expect. Or would I get more mileage out of an Avon?

Anyone have or considering a front radial tire... Avon and Dunlop have them in our size 150/80R16... The new Avon Cobra and the Dunlop D251 which are listed for Gold Wings and are 71V which is are rated for 149 mph and 760 lbs Load rating... looks like this may be a pretty good setup... i don't think I'll get more than 2K more miles out of my Avon Venom front... I'll probably get the Dunlop as I'm not too impressed with Avon Tyres.. According to some websites these tires fit Honda VTXs and Kawi Vulcan 2000... Oh Yeah BTW Bridgestone makes a Radial in our size too. http://www.avon-tyres.co.uk/motorcycle/images/tyres/big/half/h_RGB-Cobra-AV71.jpg http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tires/80_t.jpg

A couple weeks ago had our Yamaha dealer install a new Dunlop D404 Front on the Venture. $160 for the tire and $32 install. This AM rolled the Venture out for a ride and heard a thumping coming from the front. Checked it out and found a screw sticking out of the front tire. Bummer!!!!!! Haven't checked yet to see if it is loosing air but am reluctant to run it even if it isn't. What do you think? Where is a good online site to buy a new D404? Seemed like the $160 was a little steep. Thanks!

Got a 1989 Venture. While driving, if I loosely hold or let go of the handlebars, I get a terrible shake in the front wheel that would dump the bike if I continued to let it shake. I had the front wheel balanced and the front end checked but nothing. Got a dunlop 3 on the rear and a dunlop 2 on the front. Any help? I am leaving for British Colombia on June 18th. Thanks

Well, I finally bought new tires. I lost a chunk out of my rear tire last fall in a tire eating pothole. It was almost time to replace them anyways. I've been so busy that I didn't get around to taking the wheels off until this past week. I stopped into The Hitching Post in South Saint Paul to see what it would cost to mount tires. It turned out they actually had the Dunlop 404 WWW in stock. So I hurried home pick up my wheels and rushed back to drop them off before they closed at 7pm. I figured I'd pick them up Saturday. I got back there 5 minutes before they closed and they offered to mount them while I waited. I was surprised. So what the heck I waited. Twenty minutes later I had new tires. Oh, and they had killer prices on the tires. The rear was about $91 and the $89 for the front and $35 per tire to mount and balance. Not bad. Yeah, the mounting are big city prices, but that's where I live. Still a much better deal than the last time I bought tires. So Saturday will most likely be reassemble day, unless it's nice outside then I will be working on building my fence. So I'm actually hoping for rain. I have leveling links, tires, back-off light flasher, trailer wiring and new exhaust to install. I'm replacing my Bub's with stock pipes for the year.

I put a new Dunlop 404 on last year, I put about 3500 miles on it and it needs to be replaced. Is that a little low miles for a new tire.

The following pix shows what my rear Dunlop D404 did to me last Sunday while going to a Blessing of the Bikes in Litchfield, CT. My wife and I were 12 miles from home when we both felt that thumping especially when banking to the left. My riding buddy checked it out and we immediately changed our plans after realizing what was happening. I gingerly drove it back home and returned with the cage to experience the cerimony. Earlier this season, I realized that my tire guage was faulty and was causing me to ride underinflated by several pounds. I do NOT blame this on Dunlop but on riding for 3 yrs underinflated. Make sure your tire guages are reading properly. I have since purchased Dunlop EIII's. Brian

The past couple weeks I have been looking for some new tires. When I brought my Roadliner, it came with Dunlop D251's. Front 130/70R 18. Rear 190/60R 17. The front tire I can find anywhere. No matter if it's Dunlop, Avon or what. The rear tire I can not fine. I am told that I have to buy it thru a Yamaha Dealership. Why is this?

I'm looking for tires, mainly Dunlop, & checked the E3 'Radials'. Not much of a choice. Only 3 front sizes & 4 rear sizes. Rear won't work. Maybe I could squeeze a 9 in rim on the rear. Hi gang - new to the list. I have a basket-case '83 Royale for which I will be seeking a lot of advice. It's got 30K miles but has been sitting in a garage for the last 12 years. I've been aquiring lots of parts that it needs (carbs, CB antenna, mirrors, left upper fairing, new rear master cylinder and lines, etc.). Two quick questions (couldn't find the answers in a search - apologies if I'm a dope!): 1. Do Dunlop Elite IIs work on the first-gen Royales? Looking to see if someone still makes RWL tires for it and your tips. 2. I see lots of references to "Seafoam" and its magical powers, but haven't found it in a shop or a catalog - what's the proper name and/or manufacturer of this stuff? Thanks in advance!!! Gregg
