What are the black plastic pieces that are on top of the valve covers and do they really need to be on there?

I know this isn't about bikes but I just have to share.... Firstly I want to point out that here in Canada we refer to blacks as "The Black Community". We don't say "African American" as you do in the US. It's not intended to be a slur just a difference in how we refer to this group. (just so you understand) So now... Starting in the 2009 School year Toronto Ontario will now have black only schools, and guess who has insisted on this..??? The Black Community itself. They no longer wish to attend schools with other groups. They want their own education system and some in the Black Community have gone as far to say they also want their own all black companies. I'm speachless.....

OK folks I need your help. I'm looking for a half helmet with the zip in neck liner to match the black cherry of an 08 RSV. Sites, types, names, etc. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks

Here are some pictures from Cougar of the new Polk speakers that he installed on the rear of his RSV. He confirms that they will fit but that you have to remove the black ring that came on the stock speakers.

I got home from the holidays and finally was able to catch the managers at the mailroom today so I could get a package that I got a notice for...... And it was a VentureRider gremlin bell! Need a black seat for my 83. I sent mine to be repaired, and the guy left town (i heard to get awaw from child support or something). My seat is not at his house either. None on ebay. I have the following parts available..... Rear Master Cyl. Coil packs and wires CDI / TCI exciter box clutch cover Soon will have a 1200 engine (with bad second gear) but runs good. junioratvsales@gmail.com thanks.

Has anybody out there ever needed to paint match there first gen? Do to my stupidity I will need to repaint my saddle bag(s) and I would like it to match the original sparkle crimson black on my 83. Any thoughts?

Didn't like the big whip antennas and I never use the CB so now I got a single short black one. Removed the CB mount and tied it up under the trunk. Got a short black rubber universial from parts store for about 5 bucks. ]Hey All, I am sure this has been hashed out plenty of times, and I promise I did a forum search prior to posting I have pulled the exhaust off of the "brown Bomber" (1985 VR) and I will have to create or purchase a new collector, but figured as long as I am at it, I might as well give it some new pipes to boot. Now I see a group of you have gone with the MAC's and some with the jardines, and Rusty even made his with "glasspacks", I was just wondering what H/D pipes (exhaust mufflers) will work slip-on to the 1 Gen. The reason I ask, is I have many misguided friends who prefer the old Orange and Black to the mertic side of the house and most of them have sheds full of various "tossed aside after upgrade parts" and just thought I would go searching if someone could guide me in the right direction. Thanks if Advance, and I have literly spent hours in reading the Tech info on this side. Keep up the good work all. -
I stopped by Santa Clarita Motorsports tonight on the way home from work to pick up a part for my bike and when I walked through the showroom, there was a 2006 Black RSV (NEW). It is marked down to $12,999 OTD (Out the door, taxes, tags, everything, etc.) If anyone is interested you can call Al Sayani at (661) 259-8460. The shop is in Newhall, CA (part of Santa Clarita). Wish I could have gotten that deal on my 2006 Black Cherry. It's BEAUTIFUL..........but.........BLACK.

I have to thank the Black Owl Trailer Service. I needed to trailer the bike back from our ride today. It turns out that today was the last ride of the season for us. We are thanking God every minute that it turned out just fine. At one point in our ride we had to pull off the road for an ambulance. There happened to be a very wide crack in the pavement, between the road and shoulder, that the motorcycle tires went into and made me almost lose control of the bike. I got back on the road and all was good (so I thought). About 40 miles later we stopped for food. I was standing back from the bike stretching from our long ride when I noticed a large gash in the sidewall of the rear tire. Upon further inspection I could see that a large hole had been torn though the outer layer of the tire's sidewall and I could see the inner layer of the tire. Had the tire blown out we could have had a severe accident. I called a few family members first and they could not come out to get us. I remembered that I Black Owl's phone number in my phone and I gave him a jingle. It turns out he was just waiting for a reason to go for a long drive. God was watching out for us. On the trip back my wife was saying that she always says a prayer before leaving on a bike trip and today she had forgotten. About half-way through our ride today she remember and prayed. Shortly after that is when the tire was damaged, but held until we stopped and could see it was damaged. It was pure chance that I saw the gash in the tire since most of the rear tire is cover by the rear fender and saddle bags. Only a small portion is visible while standing and looking at the tire. God was watching us. Thank you Russel for the rescue.

i purchased a primered spoiler and took my bike into a paint shop to get the correct formula for painting my spoiler. colorite could get the paint but at a rediculously expensive price. i had it painted and it matches great with the rest of the bike. should anyone be interested here is the formula, what these numbers mean i'm not sure but a paint/body shop should know 855j light red 30.9 866j red violet 58.1 4530s flop control agent 80.7 805j jet black 93.6 1002s red pearl 97.3 62320f binder 204.8 62330f balancer 221.5 i hope it helps anyone who needs this

I know that many of you had elected to do your own paint jobs, on your VR's, and I wish that I could do the same. I, however, do not have a heated garage and (during the off-season) I would really like to have my bike repainted. First off, I don't really like this 'off-pinkish & red (trunk & saddlebags) paint, and would like to have it painted black, with maybe some silver accents. To be honest, just having it painted a solid black would be fine. At some point, later on, I could probably do the accents myself. But I wondered if anyone here knew of a good place (somewhere near Amherst, NY) where I might be able to check out. Also a price for same, providing that information is also known. Thanks.

Just purchased a new corbin seat full set for my 05 midnite venture and im not satasfied with the color and the workmanship. want to know if any one elses seat looks more gray than black and if the stiching is not up to parr or uniform. I like the way it looks on the bike and I like the way it sits but I dont like the color and quality in stitching.

I happen to look under the trailer this afternoon, after making a pretty long trip today. Is all that Black stuff, grease, for the berrings?. the trailer rolls quitely, no grind what so ever. how soon, should the alex be redone? We're pulling it to the Leesburg rally in two weeks and want to have it ready.

OK , Here is a fix if you are tired of having to shine with that Armor all all the time , On my 86 I used some mop and glow on the cockpit panels and the black parts of the bike (except tires ) And it shines like a new penny!....Doesnt collect or hold dust, not sticky ,and I believe it seals the plastic, I also used it on the black part of the radiator cover.....Fred

Hey guys, help me out here if I've missed something, but why is it I've seen in the Yamaha catalog rear LED spoilers already painted for EVERY color they are EXCEPT the Black Cherry?!!!!! And even in the VOTE FOR FAVORITE COLOR forum, you didn't even mention BLACK CHERRY!! Whats up? Does people NOT reconize the 2006 Black Cherry?!! Is there a pre-painted spoiler somewhere out there? Help! mid life crisis
