I've mounted my Ipod to the handle bar of my RSTD with a universal telephone type mount. It looks good, is sturdy and should do well. Problem is, how do I supply power to the Ipod? Does anyone know of a power chord for an Ipod that does not come from a cigarette lighter type plug? That is how it works in my car. I'm afraid of screwing up the electronics in the Ipod with a direct 12 volt hook-up. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 2007 Venture and wants to install cruise peg mounts & pegs. Any suggestions on what type is best to use? I purchased floorboard mounts from kuryakyn, but they didn't fit because the engine guard was in the way. I would prefer a floorboard mount but if I have to put them on the engine guard, what type is best? Thanks, Chester

When doing maintainance on the rear wheel hub assembly, is it okay to use "white lithium" grease, on the splines and hub pins,or is there another type to use? I know that some people have complained about the lack of grease in this area, the white lithium looks like it may be too light for the job. I had to pry the hub out of the assy using a pry bar, it was rusted in there good, no sign of any grease from the factory. I cleaned of the pins with a wire wheel and cleaned the bore's out with a .20 gauge smooth bore barrel cleaning tool, you know what I mean the copper brush thing, lol. Yes ay info on what type of grease to use would be helpful. Cheers Keith.

OK folks...I want to thank all of you for your suggestions about the type of contest to hold but I have made a decision and it starts NOW. As you know, we are presently seeking photo submissions for the 2008 VentureRider calendar. So, each of you who submits a picture for the calendar will be entered into the drawing to win a $100.00 gift certificate from New Enough. You can go there now and be deciding what you want to spend it on. http://www.newenough.com/ Here is the thread that explains what type of photos needs to be submitted and how to submit them. No whining about "I don't have a digital camera" and etc....if you don't have a camera, I'm sure that somebody you know does. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=134864&postcount=12 This contest will run until October 14th which is the deadline for submissions.

My bike has been doing a lot of backfiring on deceleration but has been running like a deer on the highway. Yesterday I went for a four hour ride and it even started stalling before I got stopped at the lights so I had to keep the revs up just to keep it going. I have not got a clue where to begin but I guess I should be starting with the diaphragms and carb slides. I am also thinking that plug wires and plug caps should be replaced: The plugs are new. Any particular type or brand recommended? I see some on e-bay on a pretty regular basis. Any clues would be helpful and appreciated. I am sure this has been discussed before so a link might be helpful too. I suppose a valve adjustment and carb synch would also be in order.

Ok, so I ordered the level links from Diamond R and just got them. Now the 2 stupid questions. They cam with new bolts - should I use those or the existing bolts that hold the factory links from Yamaha? And what type of grease should I use to lube? White Lithium or axle / bearing grease? Thanks in advance..

Change the bulbs in the OEM Passing lamps and is there a specific bulb type that goes in this lamp? Was looking at the PIAA site and that got me wondering.

I've noticed I'm having to lift my whole left foot off the floor board to down shift. I can see bolts down there and a barrel type connector -- is it possible to move the shifter forward? Your help appreciated, DREBBIN

I'm bad with names but, someone at Micky D's was needing something to clean thier connectors with. We talked about Caig Labs DeoxIT D100L. I believe Fry's sells Caig probucts. If not you can Google Caig DeoxIT and find many places you can buy it. You want the D100L-xx. Where xx is the type of dispencer it comes in. I get the bottle with brush applicator (-2DB). This is a very good contact cleaner conditioner, and is MIL SPEC.

In my Motorcycle club we are trying to get better communications. Now not everyone has the Gem of a bike I have with CB already on it so we area looking to purchase a few portable setups that arent permanantly fixed to the bike so that the road captain can have them to designate people as assistants. What I am looking for is recommendations on which type we should look at. I want it to be portable (handheld that can be worn by the rider) and a headset that isnt attached permanantly to an individual helmet.. Does anyone have any good ideas. I have seen one by Chatterbox but we need a few that work good.
