  1. what the heck???? is that a mechanic's toolchest you're pullin??
  2. Surprisingly people seem to be getting around OK. The amount of snow we've had in total over the past few days is still less than I've seen it come down here in one big dump. I've only had one accident in my life and that was in 1969 when I lived here...it snowed about 1.5 ft overnight and I had to drive from New Westminster to North Vancouver in a Chevvy Vega ...snow tires??... forget that! ... well I made it all the way to the Second Narrows bridge and as I was going down the North side of the bridge, I had to change lanes to take an off-ramp. The buildup of snow between the lanes threw me into a skid and as I tried to correct it, it spun me the other way and I hit the median going sideways. I was the only car on the North lanes....on the other side of the median, there must have been 100 cars stopped....and they were all watching me slippin and slidin and smashing into that median LOL. I creamed the front of that Vega pretty good but still managed to make it to my destination. Now THAT was a snowfall that brought the city to a halt!...but stupid people (me included) continued to try driving. You can't imagine how many cars & trucks were in the ditches and stuck on the side of the street and stuck trying to make it up hills...and I passed all of them!
  3. Here in Vancouver we don't get snow that lasts...it can come down heavy one day and be gone 2 days later. I can't remember from one year to the next if we have a white xmas or not ... what I do know is that we've recently recorded the coldest temp in 40 years, that the cold weather has lasted much, much longer than usual, and for me to have to scrape the driveway 2 times in a day and then again the next morning is definately not normal. I was unable to drive my truck to the Skytrain station to get to work coz I was stuck in a foot of snow on our street. We had to walk 3 blocks in that to the bus stop. Forecast for xmas day is plus 4 and rain... it will be a real mess!
  4. DITTO! it's been snowing all day so far... I cleared my driveway and deck and now it's got just as much snow as when I started...gonna have to go at it again...and we ain't seen the end yet!! I was out and about xmas shopping today...decided to leave the rest of it until tomorrow on the way home...way too many IDIOTS out there that have no idea whatsoever on how to drive in these conditions.
  5. We got another dump of snow last night and the night before that we recorded the coldest temp in 40 years! It's been below zero celcius here for well over a week...totally uncharacteristic for the area. More snow on the way and it looks like we "might" hit plus 1 by Christmas day.
  6. here's ours ... and for the first time since we've been together (4th xmas), only one of the kids will be here :-( ... all other years, we've had at least 10 (4 kids, their boyfriend or girlfriend and us)... it's gonna be lonely! (poor angel..I keep cutting her head off!)
  7. Right backatcha Brian!!! And the same from us to all of the rest of the folks here... MERRY CHRISTMAS and all the best in the coming year! Sure hope to get to meet a few more of you in 2009! Rick & "Pinta" Nina
  8. I haven't shopped for anybody yet....not even myself and that is BAD! ... heck, I haven't even thought about what I'm going to buy myself yet, let alone anyone else!!
  9. There's been a lot of discussion (pros & cons) about this but the general consensus IMO seems to be to run them at or close to the max recommended pressure on the tire. 45-50lbs rear and 40-45lbs front. Others will chime in I'm sure.
  10. If I recall correctly, the "photographer" had the camera locked to her wrist! LOL Butt....she did allow me to take a few shots of her
  11. Here ya are...being "small and elusive"! ....
  12. I believe I have one (or 2) of you from VWIV ... will check when I get home from work and show that you're not so "small and elusive" after all!! ....so there is proof that Brian's bike has actually been driven!!
  13. hey..that's cool ... when I was a kid I was into bows and arrows but things were so much different then ... did they use "zebra wood"??? (just kiddin)

Following is our current weather and upcoming forecast. It's been snowing off and on since late last night ... accumulation around 3 inches. 25. I have a low tolerance for "whiners" ... those people who bi*ch and complain about anything and everything....their life is not complete if they don't have anything to whine about and I especially have a lower tolerance for those same people who whine that nothing goes right for them...it's all their fault...they have every disease know to man...it's all "about me"... AARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
