Hey, Great looking bike Hippy! You'll love being out on the highway on that one. Steve

Happy thanksgiving to all you folks up north. Don't forget what you are thankful for. Family, friends, good health and of course a great ride. Steve

One important thing to consider is handlebar position. On my 86VR it made a big difference on which position I had them in. Steve

If I were in charge of this world, there would be NO insurance, BUT-- As we all know, I'm not, soooooooooooo For my 05 RSTD, with progressive it's $329-for MY 86vr it's $255 I think that they do what ever the hell they want. The one thing that I do know is that I DON'T KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve

Rick, I'm sitting here chomping at the bits. I'll get the bike tomorrow, but due to two guys that have to do paperwork and not screw it up, I'm on edge. But, I will bring it home tomorow in my trailer I have had lots of fun toys over the years, and I never look back or miss what I don't have. The future toys are waaaaaaaaaaay too much fun. Be sure and say hi to Marilyn for me! Steve

When I want a fish fry I want a Friday Night Wisconsin Fish Fry at the local tavern with beer batter cod, coleslaw, and fries. Boy rosebud, you hit the nail on the head with that one. think I'll do that tomorrow night. Steve

Hey, thanks Orrin. I'll keep in touch and let you know what's going on. As far as the mustang seat goes, the passenger part will go, and a rear fender rack will take it's place, along with a seat rail. Hope it feels as good as it looks. Time will tell. Steve

Hey Charlie, Now that's a real fish! Actually after I simmered it for a bit, it was quite good. I did add a little hot sauce though. I have a couple good recipies that I'll add when I have the time, and they do not include catfish. Now that I see that there are a bunch of fishermen here, are there any of you that ICE FISH? Can hardly wait for that. Steve

Like all technology, the more you live with it, the more you can't live without it. This VR is the only bike that I've owned with a radio and such, and I've owned a bunch. The funny thing is that the gear indicator is what I missed. Steve

Now I mean to tell you that I'm a fisherman, but this summer I've been riding, not fishing, so tonight when I went to make a batch of fish chowder, I used some catfish chunks. GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ruined it. Normally I'd use Walleye, Sauger or Bluegill. I"ll never do that again. Steve (I'll have to take it to my starving student son in college.

Hey Hipshot, When I rode up to look at the 2005 RSTD, on my 86VR, I asked myself, what in the hell am I doing? this is a great bike. and when he was riding my bike in front of me, I'm looking at my bike saying, man that's a great looking bike, BUT,------I gotta do what I gotta do. Time to move on Steve

All I've got to say is that it's two days away, and it's killin me!!!!!!!!!!! Steve

Hey JT, Your right, It's a beauty, but at my age I gotta do what I gotta do. and I can''t keep them all around, maybe you should add it to your collection. I was going to get a 97, and then I would have kept the VR, But I fell in love (again) it's a GREAT bike!!!!!!! Steve
-
Thanks Mike, I've never really understood this dark side thing though. When I sell my 86VR, someone will get a great bike, I'll tell you that. Steve

Well, I've got a new ride, and I am pumped, but the 86 VR will get listed in the classifieds when it's a done deal. I don't have it home yet, so am a bit apprehensive. The 86 is a beauty and will make someone a great ride. Steve

Clutch Whine-One last question
eagleeye replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Kit, I've been reading about whine for a long time now. I just bought a bike that might, at some time have it. Your post was way more than interesting. couple of things, I had a friend that swore by straight weight oil. But in a bike with the oil doing the job of the engine and transmission, I'm sure that won't work. I've always been told to be sure and use oil made for motorcycles, that is made to lubricate both. Your logic is very good, now which oil, and I mean heavy oil will work in our bikes. I don't know the answer, but will for sure remember your comparison with the lathe. Food for thought! Thanks, Steve -
I am not surprised. I'm glad that it worked out real good for you. I was hit by a guy with progressive some years back and they went out of their way to take care of me. Now, I have my bikes insured with them. Steve

I looked up what these are, but I was wondering what are the main reasons that you guys use one? Steve
