    Trailer

⁸Went to Kitchener Ontario yesterday to pick up a set of ATV ramps to use with my bike repair table. Only paid $50can for them as they were too heavy for his wife to use.
  2. I have had a hitch on all my bikes since I restarted riding again in 2002. First an 87 Venture Royal till 2008 then a 2000 Road Star 1600 and now a new 2012 with around 115,000klms. I made the one on my newest one from the hitch off my wife's car and works great! The other 1 were aftermarket ones. Like everyone says hardly know the trailer is there. I towed a 500lb trailer from Ontario Canada to Illinois for a Venture rally and also half way into New York State to a rally there a few years. Just have to anticipate what is going on ahead of you. You have to remember you will take longer to stop and will effect taking off from stop but practice makes perfect(or as close as you can get)
  3. I'm not sure if they were a Yamaha accessory or the vent wing company(can't remember name) very hard to find as I think they don't make them anymore. I have been trying to find a set but if someone has any they are way out of my price range so have been trying to make a set but haven't had any luck yet. Supposed to keep wind on to cool and off to protect from wind and rain.
  4. Just did check on mileage app. and bike is getting 40mpg. Also checked truck (2009 Dodge Dakota 4.7 V8 Auto 4x4 crew cab) and it gets 13.5mpg.
  5. Few pics of bikes at Dover
  6. Have a few pictures of custom bikes from Friday The 13th if anyone wants to view! I am looking for my card reader so I can post here. If not OK!
  7. No problem! Was kind of last minute decision as I was waiting to hear from son. Getting used to this happening anyway!
  8. Will try and meet at the Tim"s just in Paris This was sent but didn't go but I stood by side of road outside Tim's north in Paris and tried to get your attention but you just drove by! So went and got bike and left. I was there around 10 and you were around 10:30
  9. Which way are you going to go thru Paris?
  10. Picked up spare mount for my Satellite radio so I can use it in my truck then transfer unit to bike without having to move everything back and forth.
  11. Sorry to about your situation and hope things work out so as to at-least enjoy your upcoming years here!!!
  12. Have 2000 Time Out that I took on rally rides (New York---2 Canadian rally's) and Freebird's maintenance days . Last year went with Phantom Wife to Bruce Peninsula camping(her first time in it)unfortunately it was in my truck and not bike! This was because I haven't ridden 2up since I lost 100lbs 2 years ago because of diagnosis of Diabetes 2(doctors opinion and his tests) Hopefully will get out this year too.
  13. Really sad that there might not be any more New York rallies! I really miss the original area they were set up across from Pioneer Motorsports and never made it to the new area around the lake. I think it was more like ridding around here at the new site. Mostly liked the hilly(mountain) twisty turns and roads to the different historical areas as it is really flat ridding around Woodstock Ontario Canada.Liked the restaurants like Chanderson's and Spragg's! It would be nice to have another rally up here in Canada EH! I would probably have more time to help out if the others think this is feasible! One problem is getting to any areas like New York rally we would have to have it around the Meaford or Collingwood area like was put on a few years ago. Good riding roads etc. But a major disadvantage for this would be that guns are NOT allowed across the border ! I would think there would be a safe place to keep them around the border then pick them up on way back(like UPS lockers or gun shops?
  14. Going but not sure when! Usually early but son is also thinking about going as he booked day off. Depends what weather is like Lite rain going but if heavy depends.
  15. Tanks @Freebird for all your dedication and help for keeping this informative and helpful site going!!!
  16. Won't be making this run mostly gas prices and harder to get away as well as I thought I would since retiring!
  17. Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to go to this like I would have liked to! Gas prices would be the main reason! Really would have liked to have gone but poor planing for retirement and Government disappointing us!
  18. First was at @MarcarlMeet & Great Then New York Rally & can't forget @Freebird Maintenance Day!!!! Can't really have a favorite as I ENJOYED every one I made it to. Also can't forget LONGEST one to Illinois!!
  19. I have the top ones in the picture(wedge shape) on my 2012 and like them!
  20. Sorry to hear this! Phantom Wife & myself wish her a speedy recovery!!!
  21. Have done a few rides over winter months but today was my first official ride of 2022! Mileage at start was 113500klm. Filled tank at $1.62Can. per Ltr. When I was done paying for gas the guy on the next pump asked what year my Venture(shocked because usually everyone asks what it is) was and told him it was a 2012 . He commented how good looking it was and he is thinking of getting one also. He said he a Boulevard now but has been looking at an older Venture(I think 1999 or up or maybe older --not really sure)) He said he might look at the first gen as he is tall and was a tight fit on the 99 . I said we had quite a few taller people that ride and suggested a few things that might help. I also gave him our website information if he wanted to look us up to get ideas and information. Also told him it was $12 a year to join. Hopefully he gets a Venture and joins up!!

  22. Just curious where you get ethanol free gas!
  23. I agree with @Marcarl about doing other ridding from group. Have gone on several single rides when at different rallies as it can have different environment such as hills and mountain scenery . Around my area in Ontario Canada it is quite flat with nearest bendy roads at least 30klms away . New York rally was always a treat because of the overabundance of driving thru the many lower mountain roads and really having a great experience. Like hear it is 2klm strait to Walmart and there it was 40klm thru twists and hills and great scenery to shop! Also the great rides to different historic towns and waterfalls etc. There are different stores also to be toured that are not available here .So sometimes it is very educational to take off (always tell people of group what and roughly where and what you are doing) and explore other roads and sites along the way back from planned activities such as breakfast - dinner or supper rides. When in Illinois rally I got to go to Harbor Freight for a few items,(always have to plan light as not much room to pack sometimes) Have some room as I tow a Time Out tent camper. Only bad thing about traveling to the southern(U.S.) rallies is the difference in monetary exchange difference!! Sometime I got to go on different rides with people I met at these get together s as they new some attractions that they have found over the years and think I might enjoy the ride and then the sites we get to. The beers are always partaken of after we are done for the day(maybe one at supper but never any after) Looking forward to the time we can travel again so I can meet up with past acquaintances I have met over the past few years.
  24. Was just curious as I thought someone else asked a while ago where everyone was. Just got off COMMUNITY MAP and noticed there were 377 EXPIRED members and 272 SUPPORTING members. I was surprised to see so many members that I personally know that are on the expired list and was curious if it was mostly because of Covid 19 . I know that there would be less ridding and fewer places to go but figured it would be worth the $12 yearly to keep in touch at least. But that is my opinion and I understand there can be many personal reasons for this. Well I hope everyone is doing well and hope to see whoever I can this year!!!
  25. Always good to hear better news!! Keep going!
