My opinion!! We were able to test drive the new bike when it came out at the New York Rally a couple years ago . I have a 2012 model that I bought new and love it . I didn't find it that bad except what @Freebird said about some people. I personally liked the new style but didn't like belt drive and V-twin. There seemed to be lots of power and handling thru the twists around Chaffee NY especially when you don't think you are going that fast but you are. It was better for not being as top heavy and easier to touch the ground. So basically personal preference . Here in Ontario Canada there are still new ones leftover in dealerships and also used.

Also power washed our 3car lane-way to get rid of winters residue--boy was there a BIG difference between where it was power washed and not done! Had lots of fun with the gas motor to start and run right--mostly because of bad shoulder.

dis vash is to make Red flecks in BLACK paint show up in sunlight sometimes and make people ask about our bikes(moment on liking them)! Your colors don't show dirt like mine

Only problem I had was parts web site said my 2012 had different bolt washer assembly(bolt with washer) than @XV1100SEs 2009 that takes just replacement washer. So when I took off valve covers they were identical to his. The washers that came with my bolts were smaller in width across where they sit on cover but @Marcarl said they cover enough of the hole so should be OK. Will keep an eye on them the next few rides and if they leak I will have to order wider washers.

Phantom Wife decided to wash her car so assembly line was set up. First her car then her niece who stays with us and then my truck but had to wash bike by myself. No problem! Had to clean to get oil residue off covers from leaky valve cover gasket shop changed(at least they said they did) couple years ago and procrastinated repairing until this past few days when we did the valve check at @Marcarls Now just have to get water-spots off.

The same as @Marcarl says about trunk helping but if I put mine (87) back on road I would miss trunk(need the space) I have 2012 right now and there is a BIG difference. It is still top heavy but is lower(87 seams like ridding a dirt bike compared to 2012) and easier to put foot down. Also agree with @saddlebum that more practice would defiantly help unless inseam(legs) too short.

Yep had a great few days working together! Carl let us take our time so we didn't forget anything. Even so we did put a couple things on out of order and a couple reroutes for hoses but NO missing parts and no left overs. I think we could have done the job quicker also but we would have had less time getting along. And with all the parts that had to be removed slow and patience with thinking over and discussion helped a lot! I only had to change 2 shims on the valve check--not sure how many Don did. Carl got my choke to work properly as I must have too much oil and the fitting got covered with a film coating. He also repaired my lower fairing mounting tabs. Can't say enough about the people on this site! Also can't forget to thank @saddlebum for his shim and tool loan. Also his help supervising with @Marcarl

Oil purchased along with filter and plugs. Didn't even see you take pictures!(must have been concentrating on the task!)

Seems like every-time I try and do a project SHIPPING gets in the way!!!!!!!!! Tried to get parts to mount a 2stage blower on a lawn cutting 12horse lawn tractor which seemed when I bought it off the same kind of tractor BUT had problems keeping belt on so modified with idler pulleys then had to wait for special step washer that was missing on mount that holds clutch arm. Still haven't been able to fix as 220vlt heater blew and had to buy one when they came on sale(toooo cold without) Next was trying to get parts to check and adjust valves. Trying to make Phantom Wife happy by saving money and help out Pioneer Motor Sports with business some parts ended up back ordered so had to wait.(ended up around 2months) When they finally came in and shipped the border inspection didn't like how they described the order so THEY shipped them back to Pioneer( not their fault as tracking had me thinking they were on the way until the last day was when I seen they were delivered BUT to wrong address. Got back to Chad{dealer's son] who got on it and reshipped THANKS again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. So they reshipped and made it to Canada and the mail shipped them 40 miles out of the way and finally arrived yesterday. Now waiting to get mine and @XV1100SE bike's to @Marcarl to get done. Been on a few rides lately so procrastinating on getting other things done !!!!!!! Still trying to win a little money on Lotto so I can do more things since I'm retired now and need to get more done!!!! Guess if I don't have good luck that won't happen---have mostly bad luck(or however that saying goes) Still seem to have time to do HDL as Phantom isn't bugging Yet!!!

Had electrical problems so new battery and cleaned fittings and fuses. Will be checking valves over at Marcarl's in near future.

Just got back from another ride! Boy was it windy out! Bike was leaning over quite abit to get it to go strait. When I got back my gaskets and bolts to do valve adjustment were in mailbox after mix-up being shipped to me in Ontario from Pioneer Motorsports in Chaffee N.Y. Chad was very helpful in getting them to me.

Unfortunately I am unable to attend again this year. Mostly because of Covid19 and border closure. Hope things change for next year!

Got bike going!!! Cleaned every connection around starter relay and tried to jump between pos. cable to solenoid black cable to starter and got sparks so took battery and charged up. When done took tester and checked voltage and was13volts then just after reading it started to go down to 10volts in less than a min. Found a load tester a bought last year and it said it was bad--also checked spare AGM battery I bought 2 years ago that also said it was charged and it read no good(weak). Went to" Battery's Are Us " here in Woodstock and they also checked and said bad cell so bought new AGM ($135can.) Put in bike ,hooked everything back together and bike started! Yeh I know I was told!! So thanks for ALL the advice and @Marcarlfor offering to come here to help! Greatly appreciated!!
