  1. Has anyone had any experience with Fallen Cycles getting parts from? They are in Florida and say they have left & right exhaust I need to fix my bike. They say $300U.S.(parts) + $52 U.S. sipping(to Canada) ($375can $65can) Site was on e-bay but is confusing if both sides or 1 side(will check if reputable). Look in good shape with 30,00miles off 2009
  2. Thanks anyways @Freebird just my luck! @Marcarl will check them out. @steamer will also check with him also.
  3. 2012 exhaust rotted off at muffler on 2012 Royal Star Venture. Took to shop to change tires and now need Y pipe on right side. Shop said it will be on "back order" and around $1000can + tax.
  4. Hey! You just earned the 'One Year In' badge! Just received this and was wondering what it means!
  5. Just got a call from shop saying my head bearings need to be replaced(they self center) $55 for bearings and around 4hrs labor $99per hr. then called back to agree on replacing bearings and was informed that when removing muffler the pipe fell apart so need a new one. Cost is $1000 + tax and labor and is on BACKORDER. Calling around to see if can find used but no luck so far..Does anyone know if 08 would be the same as 2012 ( I think is the same but recycle shop needs to know)
  6. Took bike in yesterday to get tires--rear rotor and brake pads changed. Should be done Wed. Forgot the area shop is in is still in part lock-down because of amount of Covid cases so had to use bushes out back to relieve our selves (with permission)(wash rooms were not available to us). Had to weld support tube onto tire clamp I have on trailer as it was bending from lack of support under clamp. On bike table I built it is on steel plate and trailer it is hanging off tongue that is only 6in wide so flexes.
  7. Have a speedy recovery!!
  8. Camping Bruce Peninsula area week of 19th to 24th or so! Updated schedule to get tires & brake rotor installed and it is the 30th not 28th. Then would have to take a couple days to break them in depending on weather. Ben sorry to hear hope you recover soon!!! Will wait to hear updates!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Cleaned and organized trunk and saddle bags then cleaned with last of my F1 cleaner and polish.Organizing trunk worked out good but F1 polished wasn't cleaning like it should so tried out new cleaner polish (""goclean water-less wash& polish"") read write up and said it was seen on Dragon's Den or the other show. Canadian made. While I was out side I also tried it on my Dodge Dakota and Phantom's new Nissan Quashqui (Rogue) . Will check later tomorrow.
  10. I have a shorter one I got from @Wizard765 a few years ago that is just a little over eye level . There doesn't seem to cause turbulence at all and only have to look up a little to see better when it rains. Taller one was horrible when driving in rain especially since I drove all the time to work etc. before I retired last year( 2012 with 108,000klms)
  11. I would think it wouldn't be advisable with the Venture because most cagers don't give much room between each other to go between. It's not allowed here (Ontario Canada) and have never seen anytime that I could have gone between anyways.
  12. I'm with luvmy40 and go with patch cord in aux plug-in with radio( can take off front fairing and y connect to plug there so radio panel can stay shut )I plan on doing this myself as I have a Sirius satellite radio I use. When FM stations fade out or want commercial free I switch to satellite. Cheaper and less work.
  13. Was running out of F1 ceramic coating fluid and was pricey( didn't seem to live up to specks--seemed to shine up OK but attracted dust way too easily ) so looked into getting Shine Armor and same as F1(pricey and availability---US) So saw Go Clean Waterless Carwash which is Canadian based and arrived in couple days. Will be trying in a couple days.
  14. Have an appointment to take bike in to replace front & rear tires and also rear rotor with pads on the 28th of June. Looking around $1200can total
  15. Welcome back!! Also hoping to meet more people after this lock-down ends! Finally retired and now handicapped on what I can do!
  16. Phantom wife thanks ALL members(have or have not met)for the birthday wishes sent!!
  17. Would like to wish my wife Beverly( Phantom Wife ) a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. There is a brand new 0klm for sale at dealer in Toronto Ontario Canada. Price is $33,000can
  19. Happy Easter to all from Phantom Wife and myself!!!!!
  20. Sorry to hear this! Glad you both are OK!
  21. My opinion!! We were able to test drive the new bike when it came out at the New York Rally a couple years ago . I have a 2012 model that I bought new and love it . I didn't find it that bad except what @Freebird said about some people. I personally liked the new style but didn't like belt drive and V-twin. There seemed to be lots of power and handling thru the twists around Chaffee NY especially when you don't think you are going that fast but you are. It was better for not being as top heavy and easier to touch the ground. So basically personal preference . Here in Ontario Canada there are still new ones leftover in dealerships and also used.
  22. Also power washed our 3car lane-way to get rid of winters residue--boy was there a BIG difference between where it was power washed and not done! Had lots of fun with the gas motor to start and run right--mostly because of bad shoulder.
  23. dis vash is to make Red flecks in BLACK paint show up in sunlight sometimes and make people ask about our bikes(moment on liking them)! Your colors don't show dirt like mine
  24. Only problem I had was parts web site said my 2012 had different bolt washer assembly(bolt with washer) than @XV1100SEs 2009 that takes just replacement washer. So when I took off valve covers they were identical to his. The washers that came with my bolts were smaller in width across where they sit on cover but @Marcarl said they cover enough of the hole so should be OK. Will keep an eye on them the next few rides and if they leak I will have to order wider washers.
