  1. That thread came out of China. He also hijacked another thread. Took care of both of them. When Don comes on line, I can block the sender,,,,,, So, thanks again.
  2. any blank note cards they would be willing to donate. I asked Grey Ghost for a list of items which he thought would be appreciated by the members serving in the Middle East. One of the items he recommended was blank general usage cards that they can write a short message in to send out to friends and family. I have contacted Hallmark to see if we can make a bulk purchase at cost. I am also going to contact Leaning Tree with a similar request. In the meanwhile, if you are like me (perish the thought) you are probably being bombarded with requests from every imaginable charitable group in the country. Well, in a lot of the solicitations I get, they include a stack of cards and note pads. So, I was thinking (and that is where I start getting into trouble) that if any of the members here had some of those cards that they would like to donate to a good cause, maybe you could just send them to me and I can include them in the packages we are putting together. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated........
  3. Not sure about the rest, but I definately need some time off for my beauty sleep......... And it's really helping, Now, thanks to all who sent me E-mail and PM's concerning the thread. Had 9 alerts to the thread......... It;s that kind of attention to what is being posted that makes the moderator's job a lot easier.
  4. Great tip the Lonna........ but it doesn't always work..... After reading your post. I thought I would give it a try. So, went to MYSPACE and told that I was looking for a woman, any woman, interested in a cheap and superficial relationship..... Still nothing....... Maybe I shouldn't have posted a picture. :stirthepot:
  5. Gray Ghost; JVBailey3; Wolfman*1; RoadKill; Bigfoot..... If you folks can send me a PM with the name, unit, and mailing address for the service members, we will get packages together for them. And if anyone else knows of a member or family member currently serving in the Middle East, please get that information to me as soon as possible. Thanks much........
  6. For anyone wishing to make a donation towards sending thank you packages to our members and/or family members serving in the Middle East..... If you are using PayPal the address is CFAS@Juno.com If you plan on sending your donation by mail the address is Russell Hicks 185 Redwood Drive Apple Valley, MN 55124 Thanks much folks.
  7. Thought I had better bring this back to the top. Also, just found out we also have at least one member working in Iraq as a civilian contractor. If you folks who have family or are currently serving overseas will send me names and addresses, we can get this ball rolling. Only 40 days till Christmas..............
  8. Okay.... being an old fart I'm entitled to get confused. Are you volunteering to handle this for us? Do you want to send the packages from Rolling Thunder instead of the VentureRiders? Or, do you just want names to send additional packages?
  9. You guys did your part last year........ But, if you want to volunteer again this year........ well . Serously though, if there is enough interest, I'll take care of it this year.... So far it looks like we only have 3 or 4 folks over there.
  10. Anyone interested in doing a Secret Santa type thing this year? If there is enough interest will work out the logistics........
  11. For those that were with us last year, you may recall that we sent packages to our members and members family members who were in harms way last year. Was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing the same thing this year. I thing we expanded it a bit last year and sent packages to friends and neighbours who were over there. This year I would suggest keeping it to our members and the members family members. Would also suggest that if anyone wants to make a donation to this effort, that we keep the donations to 10-15$. Anyway....... Just thought I would run this up the flag pole to see how many would salute it.
  12. You are absolutely correct sir. And my apologies to the Highlanders. They are skirts and not really dresses......
  13. I thought it was just the Highland Regiments (Queens own Cameron, Black Watch, Sea Forth Highlanders, etc.) that had "dress" uniforms...
  14. Do we have any members, or member's with family serving in Irag, Afganistan, or anywhere in the Middle East this year?
  15. Hey Don, Just wondering. Is this the company that is holding the sales conference????? http://www.freebirdcustommotorcycles.com/MotorcycleProducts.html Enjoy, and drive safe. There are a lot of crazies in northern WI.....
  16. First time I've heard anyone refer to Squidly as a Daddy. Most of the time he is simply called a "Mother.... " :rotfl: Sorry folks, just couldn't resist.............
  17. Well folks, this thread went south and is getting personal. It's done................
  18. For those who fight for it Life has a flavor The protected will never know......
  19. If anyone is looking for a source for service manuals on CD, try this one http://stores.ebay.com/CycleHippie $6.95 plus shipping. If he has one fo r your ride, you can't go wrong.
  20. If anyone is interested in reading the report prepared on the increase in motorcycle fatalities, here is the link. http://www.iihs.org/sr/pdfs/sr4209.pdf The findings are very interesting............
  21. Well, after smoking for going on 53 years, and that being the only vice I had left, the mornings are the hardest. :bang head:
  22. Personally, I don't believe there is ever an x-smoker. Just as there are no former alcoholics. We are simply between cigarettes. Good luck to you, and as someone said, you just need to put off smoking the next one. Going on four weeks for me now.... But every morning is a fight not to light that first one up.......
  23. Boy, those folk from Alliston always seem to be behind the power curve...... I do believe that the 2008 International is being held frpm 7-11 July, 2008
  24. Reiny, Did you get a special rate on the cabins? In checking their web, they show the cabin rates for July and August as $72.00 per night. Also, is there an admission charge to get into the park? Final ?. How are the cabins laid out. They say they sleep four. Are they set up like the cabin we had in CO? (BTW: No swings on the decks :rotfl:) Thanks for the update
  25. Terry, From the literature, I believe you are correct. Was hoping that someone on the site would have some hands on experience with this unit. J&M sells a wiring harness to be used with portable CB's that lets you use your helment headset and mic. About $300.00 some odd $ if I remember correctly....... Way to rich for my blood.
