  1. It's been a little crazy around here and I haven't really been on the website lately. I kind of forgot about the whole muffler thing, so it was like getting a belated Christmas present when they showed up yesterday. Going to pull them out of the box today and with a little luck, they should be on and ready to go once spring comes. Thanks Condor for setting up the muffler buy and seeing it through.
  2. I think all that ice cream has you in a brain freeze. I did finally meet up with my wife, took a hike through the woods and had a nice dinner. By the time dinner was over it was getting dark, so I "flew" back home. Not allot of riding in that day, but a good day just the same.
  3. Tom, sorry to hear about your recent misfortunes. I hope all goes well and everybody will be able to get together for a few last rides before the snow starts to fall.
  4. Thanks for the offer Bob, I appreciate it. Well I seem to remember you mentioning where there might be a venture that was being parted out in the local area. Just made a phone call and there is still a whole rear brake system on that bike, or should I say was, so I told them I will be by today to pick it up. There was something you were looking at getting off the bike but I can't remember what it was, let me know and I'll see what what I can get it for.
  5. Anybody ever put a aftermarket plastic rear brake resovior in a 83 venture?? Mine developed a crack and finally broke.
  6. Gee, you mean there's adapters for coffee holders tv's and a fridge too!
  7. Anybody know of any place that may have 1st generation passenger armrests?? I've been keeping my eye on EBAY and searching the net. Yesterday my wife fell asleep not once but twice while riding around, scared her pretty good each time she woke up. Might have to pull the hunting safety harness out and strap her to the bike but I don't think she will like that much. Steve
  8. Good Morning Steve,

Please give me a call if you ever make it down to this area, It would be a pleasure to meet you. I can offer you lodgeing and a chance to tinker in the garage. I work 2 to 10 weekdays but am off most weekends. There are quite a few twisties down this way and a few Dairy Queens as well. Send me a PM if I can be of help.

  9. As a carry conceal pistol holder, I have to agree, never escalate a situation. I find that since I do carry concealed, I tend to let most things go more than most. Usually when I have a tailgaiter or something, I just usually chuckle and say to myself.......buddy, if you only knew, you wouldn't be doing that.
  10. Saturday looks like it's a good day to help out, just need directions to get there and if any tools are needed. Let me know - (716)984-7683
  11. Since the weather han't been all that great and not looking to get any better any time soon, I decided to change out the front brake pads tonight. Going to get some hose tomorrow and bleed/change the fluid. With a little luck I should have good (or at least better) front brakes soon.
  12. I'm up for a ride sometime, starting to get used to how this new bike handles now. I have to say I'm usually a fair weather rider with my other bike (90 Suzuki VX800), but I feel a little spoiled with the windsheild and fairing on the venture, the cooler temps have not stopped me yet. Just reading up on collector baffle noise in the forum, sounds like I may have another project on my hands.
  13. Sounds like a great way to see what is going on. Now that I know that the brakes are linked I understand why there was so much stopping power when I thought I was hitting the back brakes. This of course is totally different than my other bike. There is a very small amount braking using the front brake handle, but I just about have to be stopped and have to really squeeze the handle to feel any braking effect. On a brake system that is working as advertised, how effective is slowing or stopping when just using the front brake handle??
  14. Hi Steve,

If you have any questions about your brakes, send me a message. The whole "linked brake" thing is a pain as far as I am concerned. I have started a project to delink the brakes, I'll let you know how it goes.

    Earl.
