I tend to be sticking my foot in my mouth lately! Now get yer minds outta the gutter and get back to work. (How do you like my new haircut? Wanted it short for summer riding, but the beautician got a little carried away!) http://www.wayodd.com/funny-pictures2/funny-pictures-foot-in-mouth-tlu.jpg -

Just spotted this thread. ( No computer at night or on weekends, ya know) anyway....glad to hear Black Owl and Courtney got the oil changed. Was going to ask on the original thread...but thought better of it. Didn't want to embarrass Black Owl! Apparently he's stronger than I gave him credit for. Didn't strip the bolts on her did he Courtney? -

How in the world do you run into a ship that big?

Hubby says it's 12" High, 12" Depth and 30"long. If you look in the pix, you can see a steel plate on the bottom for support. Also, he has 2 holes drilled in the tounge. One hole is located inside the box and bolts inside the box to the hitch, and the other outside the box. It gives it a lot more stability. I think the cost was $149.00 at fleet farm for the box. Good luck!

Ours has the studded seat and I love the way it looks, but those pillow top sure looked comfy. This might sound dumb, but I bought a bicycle gel seat last night and I'm thinking if I take velcro and attach it to the bottom of the sheep skin it might help. Couldn't come up with any other idea. Raining here today so I'll have to wait until we go for another ride to see if it helps. The only other thing I could think of was to try and buy a 1 foot by 1 foot peice of memory foam and cut it to the shape of my passenger seat, then velcro that to the bottom side of the sheepskin. Problem is, no store around here sells it, other than to buy a pillow, but that's too thick. I'd sit so high my knees would be wrapped around the back side of the hubby's ears. -
Went to the Iowa meet n eat this weekend and it's the first time I've ever gotten to see another Venture besides ours. We have an 05 Midnight. All of the other Ventures had a pillow top seat. Here's my dumb question of the day. Why didn't they make the Midnight's with a pillow top? I didn't sit on a regular Venture, but they sure look a lot more comfy. Right now I use a sheep skin, but we are taking a 15 day trip this summer and need a little more "cushion". I know Rick does the modification, but it's a bad time of year for our bike to be laid up. If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do, please come forward. Thanks Deb

Just called the hubby. He'll measure the diamond plate box tonight when he gets home from work and I'll let you know tomorrow as we don't have internet access at home.

Just saw your post. Looks like that will work perfect!!! We need to get brighter turn signals on ours but other than that, it works perfect. It really comes in handy for a lot of xtra room and not having to haul a trailer!! Nice job. I'll show the hubby your version of it!

Flew in last night early and got our Midnight Venture rented. Stayed at a virtual hostel and were the beds ever comfy!! We took off this morning and within an hour, this was scene we were looking at! My whole life I've wanted to see the Norwegian fjords and thanks to this virtual trip I've finally gotten to experiance it!! We've rented the bike for a week and are having a ball! Oh yeah, BoomerCPO, I made Pioneer Stew for you when you come through Iowa on your virtual trip! Just unplug the crockpot when your done. Don't worry about the dishes. I'll do them when we get home!! Rasberry Cheesecake in the fridge for ya!! Like the locals say "Gutten tag"!!
