Good to hear that you is good. Any day we go out, car or MC, it's good to come back alive, nobody can guarantee a safe ride. We expect it, but it can't be guaranteed, so good to have you here still.

Thank goodness we're doing a good job,,, hate to have soo many involved and then screwing up as well.

Most of our kids showed up late Thursday nite to replant our front yard. They spent the evening together having a hoot!!!!!! getting all the plants in order and then snuck over to our place to do the deed, you can see the results in the picture. Guess they figured that all covered the need for a Father's Day visit or maybe they thought it might be better not to disturb the beast any more, but they all called Sunday. We had a wonderful weekend. We had reservations for dinner, a real nice expensive type thing, but 30 minutes before our time rain broke out so the dinner was canceled, so we decided that doing a 50 year old thing would be kind of neat. Off we went to the A&W for burgers, they didn't have whistle dogs or swampwater any more, but what the hey, we ordered by the window and sat in the truck to eat it,,, just like old times,, and then we went for ice-cream,, just like we used to. We had a good weekend!!

Better get that scooter back together Ronnie, before somebody come along and steals that as well as your thread!! What's with you guys anyways, poor guy working hard at getting bearings in place and all you can talk about are other things,,,, what's he to think????? of us.
-
I can just use it as a back wheel,,,, more border distractions!!

Nice thoughts there, Joe. Trouble is with fishing do we fish American or Canadian, and if you light a fire will it be attractive? and where are the roads the GPS is to follow.. but most importantly,, let Ben navigate? we did that last Sunday, and we missed turn offs, did u-turns and all that kind of stuff,,,, we would have to get started now just to find the lake!!

I know how much you like helping people, and if somebody calls and says the need something you would jump right in and help out. It's a fine characteristic to have, so don't let me get in the way. But,,, are you the only guy that can install stair lifts in Ohio? Why not let some of the other guys have some business as well. If you are wearing yourself out, then you are overdoing it. I think Eileen would like to have you for a husband for a few more years and in good enough shape to enjoy life together without her turning into a full time nurse. Sometime, in becoming retired the hardest thing is to change ones mindset.

I have a Ram 1500, 5.7, 2008. Have been very happy with it, but I'm not real concerned about gas mileage. It does it's job, handles well, sits well and has not given me any issues that wouldn't be expected. Not sure how the rust thing works out though, it's always been Rust Checked, so I have not had the pleasure of dealing with any of that other than a couple of rear wheel well spots. Presently looking to upgrade to a 2500 for better heavier towing. It should be the last truck that I will need,, at least for this life, and I'm thinking that the next life I won't need a truck.

1984 yamaha venture royale
Marcarl replied to Doogie1982's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
On your clutch, there are 2 places that a leak could come from in that area, one from the clutch and the other from the stator wires coming through the engine case. If you see fresh fluid when you squeeze the clutch handle and the fluid in the reservoir is down, then I would suggest it is the clutch slave that is leaking. Suggest to get a new slave and install. Not a real easy job, but doable. -
Best info we can get for you at this point is in the following link. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?142455-Rally-the-shores-2020-info-only-plz Or what you have read on this thread. For those of us who attend these rallies, it's a 'no miss' opportunity. Come on out and plan to spend a day of two with us, I think you'll be glad you did.

Only an hour or so to go, and then will be our wedding anniversary. Yep!!! June 19th, 50 years ago Marca said she would be happy to be my wife bear our children, help feed and nurture our kids and stand by me through thick and thin. She did it, and is still planning on carrying on. I am glad to have her, not sure another woman would have stuck it out with me, but she did!!! Many blessings have come our way because of our union, we made a vow before God and His people and we have stuck with it,,,, WOW!!! what a ride!! Would we do it again?? Yep!!! Six kids, plus 4 in-law kids, 23 grand kids, 5 great-grand kids, includes fosters and married in. We got married with $20 cash in pocket, no food in the cupboards and had to borrow to get our first week's meals bought. Today, we own a good business, own our own house, have a car and bike, no debts and retirement looks just fine. All I can say that had it not been for a much higher Power, we would not be where we are today. WOW!!! have we ever been blessed!!!! And last but not least,,, we have me a real bunch of great people from this site, it's been a real highlight for us,,, thanks @Freebird and all of you.

Guess there is nothing much new under the sun. Our early natives killed and stole from other tribes and took slaves, tribal leaders in Africa sold their people into slavery, through-out history, there have been the rich and the have-nots, and the have-nots worked for the rich, mostly without pay, but they did live, had food and shelter to some degree. We had and still have people warring with each other over possession of this, that, or something else. Will we be able to solve all our ills? I think not, the previous generations failed miserably, and we are no better. It's been that way since the beginning of time, sometimes better, mostly a lot worse. All we can do and hope for is to finally die ourselves out of this mess, and then join in the life hear-after. It may be better, maybe not.

I was just givin 'er the benefit,,,,, even if there was doubt.

Another old man just hit a new mile stone. @saddlebum is celebrating today, and I did not get invited. That's the 67th time this has happened. He's getting old I bet!!

My favorite way is to first get a buddy to get it on the CS, and then I can do the rest, like get on the scoot, fire it up, slap it in gear, let out the clutch, twist a bit on the right handle bar and then rock it backwards. If the first attempt doesn't succeed, then more aggressive and repeated attempts are put in place. Sooner or later it will come off, and practise makes perfect. Disclaimer: don't try this at home and for sure not while holding your beer.

Our Premier has announced that border travel will be essential only until July 21. I think that might change, so I will wait until July 01 to pull he plug on the Canadian contingent. Refunds are being processed as I write this, so that should be all looked after. if not, send me a PM.

Rally @ the shores 2020 info only plz
Marcarl replied to BIG TOM's topic in VentureRider Regional Rallies
Seeing as not all of the registered members can receive private messages, I copied the PM here as well. Hi all. Just a personal update on the Rally happenings. I would think that you all are wondering as to what exactly is going to be happening and how we are all going to get things in place if at all. Happy to tell you that the rally will happen (unless the river rises). Our numbers may be a bit reduced and there may be some restrictions happening, but we will be getting together as planned. One thing we do ask of you though is to update the calendar, so that as planners we have a better handle on who is coming, who is a maybe and those who can't make it. If you do decide to cancel,(no problem, understood) then in order to get a refund on your deposit you will have to cancel on or before June 23. This had to be done because The Shores will need time to fill any empty spots as best they can in an effort to minimize their losses. Presently, The Shores are working on getting refunds on the way, so if you cancelled, you could see that happen sooner than later. For Canadians, they don't have to cancel until the week of, seeing as they have to deal with a closed border. Nice of The Shores to offer that I think. To make it easy, here is the link to the calendar: https://www.venturerider.org/forum/c...=2020-7-16&c=1 Any other updates will be in the thread, and to make it even easier, here's the link for that. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/s...-info-only-plz -
It's an RSV wantabe!!!. Honestly? It looks like a Harley so I think you made the right choice for now. Hope you take some time to enjoy it, maybe make a weekly plan that you get at least 50 miles on it each week. Alone,, bike,, time is good stuff.
