  1. I have a Ram 1500, 5.7, 2008. Have been very happy with it, but I'm not real concerned about gas mileage. It does it's job, handles well, sits well and has not given me any issues that wouldn't be expected. Not sure how the rust thing works out though, it's always been Rust Checked, so I have not had the pleasure of dealing with any of that other than a couple of rear wheel well spots. Presently looking to upgrade to a 2500 for better heavier towing. It should be the last truck that I will need,, at least for this life, and I'm thinking that the next life I won't need a truck.
  2. Got to be a well insulated one,,, you know Bum!!!
  3. Hey @saddlebum,, we could go to console him tomorrow,,, you keep them guards talking and then I'll sneak by.
  4. On your clutch, there are 2 places that a leak could come from in that area, one from the clutch and the other from the stator wires coming through the engine case. If you see fresh fluid when you squeeze the clutch handle and the fluid in the reservoir is down, then I would suggest it is the clutch slave that is leaking. Suggest to get a new slave and install. Not a real easy job, but doable.
  5. Only an hour or so to go, and then will be our wedding anniversary. Yep!!! June 19th, 50 years ago Marca said she would be happy to be my wife bear our children, help feed and nurture our kids and stand by me through thick and thin. She did it, and is still planning on carrying on. I am glad to have her, not sure another woman would have stuck it out with me, but she did!!! Many blessings have come our way because of our union, we made a vow before God and His people and we have stuck with it,,,, WOW!!! what a ride!! Would we do it again?? Yep!!! Six kids, plus 4 in-law kids, 23 grand kids, 5 great-grand kids, includes fosters and married in. We got married with $20 cash in pocket, no food in the cupboards and had to borrow to get our first week's meals bought. Today, we own a good business, own our own house, have a car and bike, no debts and retirement looks just fine. All I can say that had it not been for a much higher Power, we would not be where we are today. WOW!!! have we ever been blessed!!!! And last but not least,,, we have me a real bunch of great people from this site, it's been a real highlight for us,,, thanks @Freebird and all of you.
  8. Something that you might not be aware of, is that the reservoir is more rubber bellows than it holds fluid. I'm not sure how much fluid it holds but my guess is that 3/4 of it is bellows.
  9. Keep in mind that the MC won't pump air very well without some fluid to help out. So if you pumped the reservoir dry and then added more fluid, it could take a bit to get things flowing again.
  10. Guess there is nothing much new under the sun. Our early natives killed and stole from other tribes and took slaves, tribal leaders in Africa sold their people into slavery, through-out history, there have been the rich and the have-nots, and the have-nots worked for the rich, mostly without pay, but they did live, had food and shelter to some degree. We had and still have people warring with each other over possession of this, that, or something else. Will we be able to solve all our ills? I think not, the previous generations failed miserably, and we are no better. It's been that way since the beginning of time, sometimes better, mostly a lot worse. All we can do and hope for is to finally die ourselves out of this mess, and then join in the life hear-after. It may be better, maybe not.
  11. I was just givin 'er the benefit,,,,, even if there was doubt.
  12. Another old man just hit a new mile stone. @saddlebum is celebrating today, and I did not get invited. That's the 67th time this has happened. He's getting old I bet!!
  13. I would start with pulling it all apart first, and then decide. You might find something that is causing the issue.
  14. My favorite way is to first get a buddy to get it on the CS, and then I can do the rest, like get on the scoot, fire it up, slap it in gear, let out the clutch, twist a bit on the right handle bar and then rock it backwards. If the first attempt doesn't succeed, then more aggressive and repeated attempts are put in place. Sooner or later it will come off, and practise makes perfect. Disclaimer: don't try this at home and for sure not while holding your beer.
  15. Yah,,, when you was 18 or 20 maybe,,, you is now a bit older, and a year older than yesterday. Do you even get it up on the CS now?
  16. Our Premier has announced that border travel will be essential only until July 21. I think that might change, so I will wait until July 01 to pull he plug on the Canadian contingent. Refunds are being processed as I write this, so that should be all looked after. if not, send me a PM.
  17. Seeing as not all of the registered members can receive private messages, I copied the PM here as well. Hi all. Just a personal update on the Rally happenings. I would think that you all are wondering as to what exactly is going to be happening and how we are all going to get things in place if at all. Happy to tell you that the rally will happen (unless the river rises). Our numbers may be a bit reduced and there may be some restrictions happening, but we will be getting together as planned. One thing we do ask of you though is to update the calendar, so that as planners we have a better handle on who is coming, who is a maybe and those who can't make it. If you do decide to cancel,(no problem, understood) then in order to get a refund on your deposit you will have to cancel on or before June 23. This had to be done because The Shores will need time to fill any empty spots as best they can in an effort to minimize their losses. Presently, The Shores are working on getting refunds on the way, so if you cancelled, you could see that happen sooner than later. For Canadians, they don't have to cancel until the week of, seeing as they have to deal with a closed border. Nice of The Shores to offer that I think. To make it easy, here is the link to the calendar: https://www.venturerider.org/forum/c...=2020-7-16&c=1 Any other updates will be in the thread, and to make it even easier, here's the link for that. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/s...-info-only-plz
  18. It's an RSV wantabe!!!. Honestly? It looks like a Harley so I think you made the right choice for now. Hope you take some time to enjoy it, maybe make a weekly plan that you get at least 50 miles on it each week. Alone,, bike,, time is good stuff.
  19. Well we just did a test run n some of those burgers you was a-talkin about there Pucster, and man-o-man was they some delimanlisious, (pronounced: de-la-man-lish-e-ous), We kept it to a low roar, seeing as there were only 6 of them babies on the smoker. Lookin forward to the nextus time we can have an excuse for some more. Yesh is all invertieded, just too bad bad y'all can't show up togedder.

  22. As time goes on and everyday is a new one,, so go our countries it seems, each day brings new challenges to deal with and overcome. So, for today's hurdle: Niagara Shores, as most of you can imagine, is finding that cash flow is not as good as they might have hoped. That is not saying that they are thinking of calling it quits, on the contrary, they are still very much into having the very best facility anywhere, but, yep!! there is always a 'but', they are finding that flexibility is kind of stiff, seeing as they had a very late start in their season and have more costs than anticipated (covid), so they need to keep their facilities as full as possible. They are receiving a steady flow of requests for attendance at the grounds for this summer, and would hate to turn down folks because they think they are all booked and then find out that some people cancel. That would leave them with open 'room' with no revenue. To help out with this issue, they are now asking that if you plan to cancel and would like a refund on deposit, that you do so before June 23, 2020, in order to get a refund. After that date, there will not likely be any refund. This is a tough one I know, but they have to run their business as best they can with what ever tools they have at their disposal. If you don't cancel, and something comes up so that you cannot make it, their offer is there to transfer your reservation in 2021 at the same price. A little break in all this for the Canadians. seeing as we are not sure as to when the borders will open, cancellation deadline will be the day before you are scheduled to arrive, or as things change. This is all just a heads up as time seems to change a lot of things lately. Hope this is all clear as concrete.
  23. Couple of thoughts here: When you checked the voltage, was that on the battery posts or cable clamps. If you find the clamps give you a higher reading, it's time to make them clean. Driving lights can take a lot of draw, maybe consider LEDs to minimize the draw. At best these stators don't put out mega watts, but I would agree that 13.3 is a bit low, not sure if a high output would solve that issue. Dirty connections elsewhere will also cause an excessive draw, so clean connections are good things to have.
  24. Oh Yah,, something about the pipes,,, they need to be attached to work proper eh? Hard to see them things, they is soooo shiny.
  25. Hey!!Mama,, it's missing a wheel,,, did you loose it? Was the bike going sooo fast the wheel couldn't keep up???
