  1. Just so you are all aware, not all grease is compatible to brake systems. That's why they make dielectric as it won't break down the rubber components in the brake system.
  2. Once you get it all together and fluid coming coming out from the slave, you might find that you still have no pressure at the handle. That's when you half fill the master and then while lightly tapping the banjo joint on the end of the master you carefully work the lever ever so slightly. As you do this, you'll notice bubbles coming up in the master. Once that is done, you should have pressure.
  3. I got 15 of them there grandkids things,,,, yep, some is a little older, some is a bit young just yet, but all of thems is super precious,,,,, keep us posted!
  4. Sorry, Carl won't be there tomorrow. I have an 84 here that runs on 2 cylinders and needs all 4 as promised, and it's been here long enough. We're gone all weekend, so I have tomorrow to get those carbs working.
  5. Good point and something to remember.
  6. If you look at the lever, on the inside, you'll find a screw with a nut attached. Here you can adjust the lever to the brake cylinder, which will also help out with the light switch. If it still doesn't work good enough, then the switch may have to come apart for a cleaning,, not a hard thing to do, just keep your eye on the spring.
  7. Maybe this will help: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=90
  8. For those who would like to know, I will be working on an 84 this evening, hoping to get it running so the owner can ride it this weekend.
  9. Thinking about you on a daily basis, so also am bringing your case before the Almighty Magistrate and the Great Physician.
  10. Am I expecting anybody tonight?
  11. Thanks, I haven't been able to come up with one either. Any idea who makes it? And the picture? Your time is coming,,, if I can only find the right 'picture'!
  12. Guess you need some more schooling,,,, did you move too far away from Swifty? That was the old parts you were looking at, not new ones......dudhhh!

  14. All right,, I did, and didn't come up with that thread,,,, but it's what I needed,, thanks! Now the next question, which you didn't answer in that thread either, but maybe this time,,,,,,is there a rebuild kit?
  15. I am working on an 84 Venture. The fuel pump keeps pumping, so it's not building any pressure, so I took it off. It clicks just fine, so I opened up the pump side to see what was happening. I noticed two check valves, one with a rubber center and one without. Does any body know what should be there, and if there is a rebuild kit available?
  16. Now look what happens, I leave for one weekend and you add all NEW folks to the group..... how can I ever keep everybody straight,,, can't even keep Steve and Don right,,, now there's more to get me confused...... I tell ya!!!!
  17. Looks like you guys are having a good time,,, carry on and enjoy.
  18. Works fine for me,,, I log on (automatic) and then hit 'todays post'. Works just fine. Same as before.
  19. Let me know when this happens, I might able to get you lost.
  20. Now while you're down there anyways,,,,,,,, are you ging to lube the swing arm and wishbone? Add another 5 hours, some for work, some for beer, and while you're laying down anyways, might as well work in that nap that's been nagging to get done.
  21. Couple of years ago we took some back roads, not quite what you are describing, but with hills, wash-outs, wash-ins, corners, puddles, you name it, even loose gravel. Marca said it was the best part of the ride. Go slow, relax, relax, relax and enjoy, and NO front brake. Remember that you're much less likely to go over with power to the back wheel, rather than brake to the front, or back for that matter. You'd be amazed at what these ventures can do. You might want to look at the roads we took,, came to a 'puddle' that I thought to better not cross, turns out I was right. http://s512.photobucket.com/user/marcarl_photo/slideshow/?albumview=slideshow
  22. Yep, found that out last winter as well,,, darn stuff just falls apart,,,mine wasn't as bad as yours, but I feel your pain. For the hose, take a look at the front left corner of the bottom of the air box, maybe you'll find what you're looking for, probably have to feel up there to find it.
  23. I got it, but then I lost it,,, now I need another before you know who finds out.
  24. The last one is the best,,, I'd call that a Freebird Special.
  25. That's slower going, but would fit your time Steve.
