    Help!!!

Now that you mention it,,, I remember,,,, we looked for members in the Sault but came up empty, if I'd thought of it I would have called. Dave Howson has a shop on Bruce Street and happened to have the right bearing on the shelve, or a spare wheel on a bike stuck in a corner, or we still might be there waiting for the bearing shop to open, they were closed Saturday, Sunday was a not likely, and Monday was a holiday.

  3. First I would check that you do not have a drain on that battery, that would be my first consideration. Then I would check that the bike is charging enough. Only after that would I worry over the charger or whether the battery is toast. Just because it shows only 4 volts, doesn't mean that it is done in. I'm not at all sure about float chargers, and why one can be used and another not. I've read different opinions on the whats and wherefores, and so far am still confused as ever. I've never used one, just leave my battery in the bike, park it for the winter and fire it up again in the spring, 5 years on a Dekka, and no issues so far. I do have a heated garage.
  4. get the Carb-tune from England, everybody on the site seems to be very happy with it. http://www.carbtune.com/

    Help!!!

    Always do,,, even twice today!
  6. Don't know for the Kawi, but on the Venture you put a punch or diver tool into the one end, push the spacer over to drive out the bearing. We usually have to drive it out using the inner race, so the bearing will be screwed royally. One end has a collar on the spacer to keep it in place, so if it doesn't work one way way, try it the other way. It may also take a little persuasion to get it to move over to accept the driver tool.

    Help!!!

So I'll tell you how it ll came down. Pulled out of Green Bay yesterday, bike felt funny all the way to the Sault, even stopped once to check out strange noises, but could find the cause. Got on the road this morning and about 5 miles out of town I get crunch, crunch, in the rear end, and pulled over. No doubt as to what was happening now, a bearing was on it's way out, just hoping that it was the roller bearing and not the needle bearing. Ben and Marca and I headed back to the Sault and stopped at a service station looking to see what could be done. After about 15 minutes I decided to look for a u-haul to get us home when this guy pulls up in a jeep and says,,,,, you all got a problem??? Well we did and thanked him for his concern. He wasn't put off so easy and told us that he had a parts Venture in his garage, so if he could help at all, we would be welcome,,,,, 2 hours later I was back on the road, brand NEW bearing, and all the help I needed. Thanks to Ben and Dave Howson the local guy. We then attended the Bush Plane museum much to Ben liking and tomorrow we head home. Just after supper I get a phone call from Hal, wondering if we need to get picked up, and he was 1.5 hours south of us,,,, wow, what a bunch!!!!! Now aren't you glad I didn't speech at the IR.
  9. Use a box end wrench, 8mm or 5\16. Tap lightly with small hammer, might help.

  12. BOB!!!! BOB !!!!! WAKE UP!!! Becky already had her shower and we're on our way.
  13. They have a clear coat on them, so first you need to remove the clear coat with paint and varnish remover stripper, or brake clean sometimes does an awesome job. Then you'll need to either sand it (600 grit+), maybe some steel wool and lastly a buffer. Then you can clear coat it, or keep it bright with a product called Classic Cloth. I don't know their website right now, will post it later when I get home.
  14. Ya but,,, I posted before you, annnnnnnd you never did pass me with that yellow machine, now did ya!

  21. Oh ya,,,, that'll help!!!!!! with what I'm not sure, but it certainly can't do any harm,,,, did you use lock-tite??
  22. NOPE!
  23. I only run 15lbs in my tires, but they are 8". I think you have plenty of air. Mine bounces empty as well. Hey, they are light for a reason. Put a load in it and try it again.
  24. You know that if you don't ride the new one people will start to talk,, they'll be saying things like: The seat is too hard. Too much vibration. It's the wrong color. It can't keep up. He doesn't want to be seen on one. He can't part with the Venture.. Ok,, which corner was it?
  25. Just get yourself outside, and holler HEY YOU!!!!! See what happens,,,, better holler loud though, Annie tends to talk alot and Quickstep is getting hard of hearing, and Spear is usually busy with who knows what,,,, come to think of it, that maybe just about does it,,, don't it? Nope: just checked, there are 16 members upside down. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/memberlist.php?do=getall
