  1. Yepper again!
  2. Sounds like it might be a dirty or loose connection. Don't forget to check the ends as well to make sure that the wire and connector are firmly fastened.
  3. Yep. I would have said that as well,,, or something like that,,, but you said it better.
  4. Ya we know, but never do anything about it. The hoses are short, less than 2 feet, and hang out the back right above the rear headers, I guess that is so because then no fuel will hit the ground,,, but then the carbs should not overflow anyways. You can always put longer ones on, but be careful where you route them, you don't want them to catch fire!
  5. It's a CAT,,,,,,,
  6. None of this is intuitive. I think I got that right. Hey I'm Dutch as well EH?
  7. Guess I'd better brush up on my Harley skills EH?
  8. Yep. No problem.
  9. Congrats you two, keep it up!
  10. Nice thought, but I'll play the devil's advocate,, I'm like that you know, always coming up with what's wrong with it, or why we shouldn't do something,,,,, not that I'm against growing, but it has some issues. I guess we all want to see events, groups, meetings,,, what ever,,, grow. That means people like what's going on and ask others to join in, and that means that the organizers did a good job,, kind of like a barometer like. Thing is, I like it small, that way way I get to meet and spend time with a more intimate group, we get to know each other better, we share with each other more,, we're more like family. I have no interest in attending Friday 13th, Americade, Sturgies, or any such big gathering. They have an attraction for the reason that lots of folks attend and there is a lot there, but no interest for me. I can see the reasons for your suggestion, and have no issue with that, but I think we'll also loose our identity. Having more folks attend a rally is no attraction for me, I enjoyed what little time I could be there this year and hopefully next year I'll get to spend the whole time there, but if it becomes a mega gathering I'll figure there's enough folks there already. Just my thoughts.
  11. On my 85 Venture, the drain plug has the Phillips head screw inserted. The screw is actually a magnet for catching any metal parts floating around.
  12. Life does throw us some curves. Sometimes we think we have it all under control and then the rug gets tugged out from under us so to speak. Although we were created to live here forever, we mussed that up royally, so now we have to go through a valley to get to the promised land. For some the valley is much deeper than it is for others, and is hard to understand, even if you have 'been there' before. We have been given an out though, and so if we want, we can hold His hand and so complete the journey. Congrats on the new arrival, and may you find blessings in your trials as well.
  13. Looks like part of the family,,, how did you manage that? Congrats, and enjoy, they are a wonderful experience.
  14. Take out the headlight and then if you look deep you can see two 10mm head bolts that hold the cluster in place, one on each side facing forward, take those out, remove the speedo cable, undo the the electrical and then the cluster will lift up from the rubbers that it seated in (there are two pegs seated in rubber grommets just ahead of the bolts). It's all a little hard to see through all the wiring and stuff, but can be accomplished easy enough when you find them, and the whole cluster comes out.
  15. Yep, looks like Brads socks alright,, possible they were black at one point in their life, but it looks like Lonna went to work on them before they got sent out.
  16. I could have told him that,,, I just watched Wayne do his, so now I'm trained,,, well somewhat anyways. Thanks for the answer, it saves me typing so much.
  17. Don't open the throttle until it fires, it changes the flow in the carbs and then it won't start.
  18. Check to make sure that all the connectors to the fuse panel are tight, give them a tug, if they let go, then good, you know where there is a problem. If you did fry the CPU, don't fret too hard, take it apart and maybe you can see where it fried and let the smoke out. Sometimes it can be fixed with a little careful soldering, mines been repaired twice already,,,, turns out that a 25amp fuse doesn't do much good in a 5 amp circuit.
  19. Check that the ground wire for the engine is in place. Should be at the right front corner somewhere. People tend to move it, or it may not be there at all, so good thing thing to put in place. A ground strap from the engine to the frame.
  20. I have a left side, but not sure it moves.
  21. Try MiCarl
  22. If you need to shim it there is something amiss, that could mean out of line or you could put it out of line by using the wrong shim. My experience is that joint is a tight fit. If you decide to just tighten it without any shims then you may also draw it out of line,,,, I would get me another piece to use.
  23. He said ISSUE,, he didn't say problem,,,,,,, shhhshs, too many video games.
  24. The ones I've taken apart were and are tight. You may have bent the tangs a little when removing them. Thinking about it, I would want mine to be tight, yo don't want any wiggle in that area.
  25. Send a message to Wizard765, or Paysaw.
